Jodoigne (French pronunciation: ​[ʒɔdɔɲ], Dutch: Geldenaken [ˈɣɛldəˌnaːkə(n)]; Walloon: Djodogne) is a city and municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Walloon Brabant, Belgium. On January 1, 2006, Jodoigne had a total population of 12,440. The total area is 73.31 km2 (28.31 sq mi) which gives a population density of 170 inhabitants per square kilometre (440/sq mi). The municipality consists of the following districts: Dongelberg, Jauchelette, Jodoigne, Jodoigne-Souveraine, Lathuy, Piétrain, Saint-Jean-Geest (including the hamlet of Sainte-Marie-Geest), Saint-Remy-Geest, and Zétrud-Lumay. In the 1568 Battle of Jodoigne, one of the early battles of the Eighty Years' War, the Spanish Duke of Alba defeated a Dutch rebel force under William the Silent. The previous mayor of Jodoigne, Louis Michel, a liberal politician was the Belgian foreign minister from 1999 until 2004 and was the Belgian European commissioner from 2004 until 2009. The current mayor is Jean-Paul Wahl. The asteroid 1199 Geldonia was named in its honour (from the Latin form of the name) by Eugène Delporte.

The Battle of Jodoigne, also called Battle of the River Guete, was fought on 20 October 1568 between the royal Habsburg army led by the Duke of Alba and a protestant rebel army led by William of Orange. It resulted in a defeat for William of Orange, who had to abandon his plans of invading the Habsburg Netherlands.

Piétrain (Dutch: Petrem; Walloon: Pîtrin) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Jodoigne, located in the province of Walloon Brabant, Belgium. The village Herbais lies south of the sub-municipality.

Jodoigne-Souveraine (Walloon: Djodogne Sovrinne) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Jodoigne, located in the province of Walloon Brabant, Belgium. The village lies next to the Great Gette.

Jauchelette (Walloon: Djåçlete) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Jodoigne, located in the province of Walloon-Brabant, Belgium. The village lies next to the Grand Gette (Djåce in Walloon) and the name means Small Gette (Jauche is the French form for Djåce). The Abbaye de la Ramée was founded here in 1215.

Orp-Jauche (Walloon: Oû-Djåce) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the Belgian province of Walloon Brabant. On January 1, 2008, Orp-Jauche had a total population of 8,400. The total area is 50.50 km² which gives a population density of 159 inhabitants per km². The municipality consists of the following districts: Énines, Folx-les-Caves, Jauche, Jandrain-Jandrenouille, Marilles, Noduwez, and Orp-le-Grand.

Hoegaarden (Dutch: [ˈɦuɣaːrdə(n)] (listen)) is a municipality in the province of Flemish Brabant, in Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium. The municipality comprises the villages of Hoegaarden proper, Meldert and Outgaarden. On January 1, 2006, Hoegaarden had a total population of 6,225. The total area is 33.93 square kilometres (13.10 square miles) which gives a population density of 183 inhabitants per km².
