Shoemaker River

Fulks Run is an unincorporated community located in Rockingham County, Virginia, United States. It is located north of Harrisonburg and south of Bergton just to the west of Broadway on route 259, near the border of West Virginia and the edge of George Washington National Forest. The North Fork Shenandoah River flows past the community. It includes Fulks Run Elementary School. The Fulks Run Ruritan Park is a popular get together spot with a baseball field. Fulks Run would have been inundated by the reservoir of the Brocks Gap Dam, proposed in the 1940s and 1960s. Determined local opposition defeated the dam project.

Brocks Gap Dam was a never-built proposal for a water storage dam on the North Fork of the Shenandoah River at Brocks Gap in northwest Virginia. The proposal by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers encountered opposition from local residents and was withdrawn in 1967.

Cootes Store is an unincorporated community in Rockingham County, Virginia, United States. Located in the Shenandoah Valley, it is situated north of Harrisonburg, south of Bergton, and west of Timberville. The border with West Virginia is nearby, as is the edge of George Washington National Forest. Cootes Store is within a gorge where the North Fork Shenandoah River breaks, at the crossroads of Route 613 and Route 259.

The Little Dry River is a 10.9-mile-long (17.5 km) tributary of the North Fork Shenandoah River in the U.S. state of Virginia. It rises in Rockingham County just east of the Virginia-West Virginia border near the crest of Shenandoah Mountain and flows east, joining the North Fork just west of the village of Fulks Run.

Sites House, also known as Sites Plantation, is a historic home located near Broadway, Rockingham County, Virginia. It was built in 1801, and is a two-story, limestone structure with a side gable roof. It has a central chimney and a full-width front porch. In the late-19th century, an undistinguished three-bay frame wing with a two-story gallery was attached to the rear.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Linville Creek Bridge is a historic Thacher truss bridge located near Broadway, Rockingham County, Virginia. It was built by the Wrought Iron Bridge Company in 1898. It is a single span, measuring 135 feet 11 inches (41.43 m) long. This bridge was formerly identified as a hybrid Whipple, incorporating aspects of both the double-intersection Pratt and the double-intersection Warren. The structure in actuality is a Thacher truss, a hybrid configuration incorporating elements of the Pratt, Warren, Fink, and Bollman trusses that was first patented by Edwin Thacher in 1883. Its unusual configuration and the bewildering number of descriptions that have been applied to it merely reinforce its position as a bridge that is a rare survivor of an uncommon form.The bridge was listed on the Virginia Landmarks Register in 1977. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Broadway is a town in Rockingham County, Virginia, United States. The population was 3,691 at the 2010 census. It is included in the Harrisonburg Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Singers Glen is an Census-designated place (CDP) located in Rockingham County, Virginia, and situated between Little North Mountain and Interstate 81. Singers Glen is a historic settlement that is registered by both the Virginia Historic Landmarks Commission and the United States Department of the Interior. The community comprises one road (Singers Glen Road), the Singers Glen Post Office, a recycling center, the Singers Glen School, the Singers Glen Volunteer Fire Company, Singers Glen volunteer rescue squad, one store, and a Methodist and Baptist Church. It is listed as a CDP for the United States Census 2020.

Joseph Funk House is a historic home located at Singers Glen, Rockingham County, Virginia. It was built about 1810, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, log dwelling with a gable roof and an undercut front gallery. The house is sheathed with weatherboarding. Its builder Joseph Funk (1777-1862), was a leader in the Mennonite faith and an influential musical theorist who was the grandson of a German Palatine settler of Bernese Swiss descent. The second-floor room where the printing press, formerly located in a separate building, was placed was originally a loom room. It was converted to a school room in 1837. The building served as Funk's publishing house from 1847 until 1878.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

George Chrisman House is a historic home located near Linville, Rockingham County, Virginia. It was built between 1761 and 1787, and is a two-story, three-bay, limestone Federal style dwelling with flanking wings. The wings are an original 1+1⁄2-story kitchen wing to the west and a one-story east wing built from limestone taken from the ruins of Shaver Mill about 1960. Also on the property are the ruins of Shaver Mill, built about 1830.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.
