Belcaro, Denver

Belcaro (also commonly known as Phipps Mansion) is a historic mansion and private residence in Denver, Colorado, specifically in the southeast Belcaro, Denver neighborhood at the corner of Madison Street and Belcaro Drive. Built between 1931 and 1933, the 33,000 square feet (3,100 m2) Georgian style Phipps Mansion consists of more than seventy rooms, two of which were imported from England. The facility is decorated in the Chippendale and Queen Anne styles and features European, American, and Asian art.Lawrence Cowle Phipps commissioned the mansion with his third wife, Margaret Rogers (daughter of Denver mayor Judge Rogers), hoping to provide jobs during the Great Depression. They called the residence Belcaro, which is Italian for "dear one". The neighborhood surrounding the mansion was developed by Phipps' Belcaro Realty and Investment Company and is called Belcaro.

The St. John Paul II Center for the New Evangelization is a Roman Catholic Institution in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Denver. The St. John Paul II Center for the New Evangelization campus is home to the Saint John Vianney Theological Seminary, Redemptoris Mater (seminary), Catholic Pastoral Center of the Archdiocese of Denver - (Archdiocesan Offices), the residence of the Archbishop of Denver, Cardinal Stafford Library, Religious Sisters of Mercy of Alma convent, Bonfils hall, and a large soccer and baseball/softball field. It has been said that it is “at the heart of the Church in northern Colorado and on the frontlines of the Church’s modern “crusade” for the “New Evangelization.””The original name of the center was the Saint Thomas Seminary. The name was changed in 1996 following the visit of Pope John Paul II to Denver. The site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places listings in Denver, Colorado.

Saint John Vianney Theological Seminary is a Catholic seminary in Denver, Colorado, dedicated to Saint John Vianney, the patron saint of parish priests. It is located at 1300 South Steele Street in the Cory-Merrill neighborhood of Denver, on the campus of the St. John Paul II Center for the New Evangelization. Founded in 1999, St. John Vianney is run by the Archdiocese of Denver. St. John Vianney offers formation programs for seminarians studying for the priesthood, candidates to become permanent deacons, and lay people interested in learning more about Catholicism.

The St. Thomas Seminary in southeast Denver, Colorado, United States was owned by the Vincentian order until it closed in 1995 due to falling enrollment.Set on a 40-acre (16 ha) campus, the buildings were generally grouped around a quadrangle, the first of which was built in 1908. Future buildings were designed by architect Jules J.B. Benedict in the Mediterranean Revival style. The property is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Cherry Creek Shopping Center, also known as Cherry Creek Center, is a shopping mall about three and half miles southeast of downtown Denver, Colorado in the Cherry Creek Neighborhood. It is situated along East First Avenue on the banks of Cherry Creek. Located near downtown Denver, Cherry Creek Center has over 160 specialty boutiques and over 40 stores exclusive to the area including Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co., Burberry, Neiman Marcus, Tory Burch, Stuart Weitzman, OMEGA, and David Yurman. Other stores include Nordstrom, Macy’s, Apple, H&M, Sephora, Forever 21, and Coach, in addition dining spots like Elway’s Steakhouse, Kona Grill, 801 Chophouse and Rainforest Cafe until it closed in 2001. In addition to shopping, Cherry Creek Center offers an eight-screen movie theater, weekly seasonal farmers markets, a children’s play area, and various dining. Cherry Creek Center was originally completed in 1953, and was renovated in 1990, currently anchored by three department stores; Neiman Marcus, Macy's, and Nordstrom. Lord & Taylor opened a location at the mall in 1990, a newer expanded store closed in 2004 citing a weak and competitive regional marketplace. Other than the shops in Aspen, Cherry Creek Center is the exclusive location of several luxury retailers in Colorado, such as Louis Vuitton, Burberry, and Brooks Brothers. Saks Fifth Avenue closed in March 2011 and became Restoration Hardware in 2015. It is also home to an eight screen movie theater operated by AMC. The mall is operated by the Taubman Centers company.

Cableland is the official residence of the Mayor of Denver, Colorado. To date, no Denver mayor has ever lived in the mansion. It is made available for use to certain non-profit organizations for special events and fundraising purposes.It was donated, along with a $4 million endowment, to the City and County of Denver by cable television mogul Bill Daniels in 1998. He died in 2000.The mansion originally had many unusual features such as a fire pole down the center of a spiral staircase leading to the master bedroom, elephant sculptures, and a pink piano. In 2012, the mansion received a major remodel to modernize the decor.The mansion was built on land subdivided from the original grounds of the Shangri-La mansion built by Harry E. Huffman in 1937.

Shangri-La is a Streamline Moderne mansion in Denver, Colorado, United States. Commissioned by Denver movie theater magnate Harry E. Huffman and designed by architect Raymond Harry Ervin, it is a replica of the fictional monastery featured in the 1937 film Lost Horizon. Built on a 5-acre (2.0 ha) tract of land in 1937–38, it was occupied by Huffman and his wife until 1969. Beginning in 1962, the west lawn was subdivided and populated with additional upscale housing, including Cableland, and the circular drive was remapped as Shangri La Drive. The current owners of the house are A. Barry and Arlene Hirschfeld.

Infinity Park is a stadium in the Denver enclave of Glendale, Colorado, and was formerly the unofficial home venue of the United States national rugby union team. The stadium has a seating capacity of 5,000 people. It opened in 2007, at a cost of $22.5 million. It is the first rugby-specific, municipally-owned stadium in the United States.Infinity Park is the venue for several domestic rugby union teams. The field is home to the Glendale Merlins, a Division I men's rugby team that have won the national championship, and of the Denver Barbarians. The stadium also hosts the Women's Premier League's Glendale Lady Merlins. The defunct Denver Stampede of the defunct PRO Rugby played at the stadium between April and May 2016 as did the Merlins' professional offshoot Colorado Raptors who played in Major League Rugby between 2018 and 2020. Infinity Park also hosts various tournaments. The stadium regularly hosts USA Rugby national men's club semifinals and finals championships. Infinity Park is the home of the Serevi Rugbytown Sevens Tournament which takes place in August each year and attracts teams from around the world to compete for a winner-take-all $10,000 cash prize. Most notably, it became the new home of the USA Women's Sevens, the country's stop in the annual World Rugby Women's Sevens Series, starting with the 2018–19 season.

The Cherry Creek Arts Festival is an annual festival held in Denver, Colorado, during the first weekend of July, usually Fourth of July weekend. The inaugural Cherry Creek Arts Festival began in 1991.
