Lowertown Historic District (Lockport, New York)

Eastern Niagara Hospital was the name created to cover a pair of hospitals founded in the early 1900s in Lockport and Newfane, New York that each operated independently. Under cost pressures they were both operated under the Eastern Niagara Health System (ENHS) umbrella. ENHS also operates a nursing home. In 2019 The New York Times portrayed Eastern as among the least likely to overcharge, yet they were facing cost pressures.

The Nathan Comstock Jr. House (also known as the Odd Fellows Orphanage) is a historic house located at 299 Old Niagara Road in Lockport, Niagara County, New York.

Union Station is a historic train station located at Lockport in Niagara County, New York. It was constructed in 1889, for the New York Central Railroad in the Romanesque style. It was deactivated as a station in the 1940s and lay unused until 1967. It was renovated and reopened as a restaurant in 1971. The restaurant was gutted by fire in December 1974, rebuilt and again destroyed by fire in 1978.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.The current owner of the building and property is Mark Davidson. He has plans for a full restoration pending state grants.

The United States Post Office is a historic post office building located at Lockport in Niagara County, New York. It was designed and built 1902–1904, and is one of a number of post offices in New York State designed by the Office of the Supervising Architect of the Treasury Department, James Knox Taylor. It is a three-story brick and limestone structure in the Beaux-Arts style. The United States District Court for the Western District of New York met here from 1904 until 1916. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

It is one of approximately 75 stone residences remaining in the city of Lockport.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008. It is located in the High and Locust Streets Historic District.

Lockport Industrial District is a national historic district located at Lockport in Niagara County, New York. The district features the two sets of Erie Canal locks constructed in 1859 and 1909–1918, respectively known as the Northern Tier and Southern Tier. Also in the district are the remains of industrial buildings built along the related hydraulic raceway along the north side of the canal.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

It is one of approximately 75 stone residences remaining in the city of Lockport.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Stickney House is a historic home located at Lockport in Niagara County, New York. It is a two-story stone structure built in 1854 by Marcus Stickney, an early settler of Lockport, in the Italianate style. It is one of approximately 75 stone residences remaining in the city of Lockport.In 1836, Marcus Stickney, an abolitionist, bought the property where this house is currently located. He was born in Ithaca and served as postmaster. Stickney moved to nearby Lewiston and started a mercantile store, then moved to Lockport and opened another store. His son Washington inherited the property in 1846 and the house was built several years later.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

The Lockport Cave can refer to one of two caverns beneath the city of Lockport, New York. One of the caves formed naturally in the underlying dolomite and limestone bedrocks, whereas the other is a hydraulic raceway (water tunnel) constructed in the nineteenth century. Historical and recent accounts of attempted exploration of the natural cave system exist, although the cave has been sealed since 1886. The true size of the cave remains a mystery, although it is speculated to have an area of several square miles. The Lockport Cave Company was formed in 1883 to explore and remove mud from the cave, however little progress was made because of inadequate funding and frequent flooding. The man-made hydraulic raceway, often called "The Lockport Caves" by locals, was constructed between 1858 and 1900. The raceway supplied water to local industries for decades, and now contains a tourist attraction, the Lockport Cave and Underground Boat Ride.The canal received national attention in 2023 when a tour boat capsized, killing one person and injuring several; this incident has led officials to explore regulation of this kind of attraction.

Lockport is both a city and the town that surrounds it in Niagara County, New York, United States. The city is the Niagara county seat, with a population of 21,165 according to 2010 census figures, and an estimated population of 20,305 as of 2019.Its name derives from a set of Erie Canal locks (Lock Numbers 34 and 35) within the city that were built to allow canal barges to traverse the 60-foot natural drop (18 m) of the Niagara Escarpment. It is part of the Buffalo–Niagara Falls metropolitan area.
