Al Waab QLM station is a station on Doha Metro's Gold Line and serves Al Waab district.

Mehairja (Arabic: محيرجة; also spelled Mehairqa) is a district in Qatar, located in the municipality of Al Rayyan.In the 2015 census it was listed as a district of Zone 54, which has a population of 24,593 and also includes Baaya, Muraikh, Luaib, Fereej Al Soudan, and Fereej Al Amir.It borders Fereej Al Soudan to the east, Al Waab and Al Aziziya to the south, Muraikh and Luaib to the north and Baaya to the west.

The American School of Doha (ASD) is located in Doha, Qatar. The school was founded in 1988 by United States Ambassador Joseph Ghougassian to serve the needs of the American community in Qatar. Sponsored by the US Embassy, it operated until 1997 as the American International School (AIS). There are about 2250 students, with approximately 650 in the high school and 1500 in upper elementary. More than 80 countries are represented by the students of ASD. Approximately 38% of the students are U.S. nationals, 10% are Qatari nationals, and approximately 52% are nationals of other countries.

Doha College is a coeducational British international independent school located in Doha, Qatar. Doha College (or DC) was established in 1980 and was opened to meet the demands of a British-style education in the country. It has a student body of over 2,101 people from over 76 nationalities. Doha College is an academically selective school, both for admissions and progress between key stages. The school is sponsored by the British Embassy and is a nor-for-profit organisation.

Doha British School (DBS), established and opened in October 1997, is a co-educational comprehensive International school in the Ain Khaled area of Doha, in the State of Qatar. It offers international education to students from pre-school to Year 13. The students are of over 85 nationalities.

The 2006 Asian Games (Arabic: دورة الألعاب الآسيوية 2006, romanized: Dawrat al-ʼAl‘ab al-Asīawīah 2006), officially known as the XV Asiad, was an Asian multi-sport event held in Doha, Qatar from December 1 to 15, 2006, with 424 events in 39 sports featured in the games. Doha was the first city in its region and only the second in West Asia (following Tehran in 1974) to host the games. The city will host the games again in 2030.It was the first time that all 45 member nations of the Olympic Council of Asia took part in this event. Also, Eurosport broadcast the event, marking the first time that the event was broadcast outside the continent. 21 competition venues were used for the Games including the newly constructed Aspire Indoor Sports Complex. The opening and closing ceremonies of the Games were held at Khalifa International Stadium. The trampoline discipline of gymnastics, as well as chess and triathlon made their debut at the Games. The final medal tally was led by China, followed by South Korea and Japan. Qatar finished in ninth place. Tajikistan, Jordan and United Arab Emirates won their first ever Asian Games gold medals. 7 world and 23 Asian records were broken during the games, while South Korean swimmer Park Tae-hwan was announced as the most valuable player.

The 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum is the first sports related museum in the Middle East. It focuses on the history of both domestic and international sports and officially opened to the public on 30 March 2022 through an inauguration ceremony held by Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The museum was designed by Spanish Architect Joan Sibina, measures 19,000 square meters and is connected to the Khalifa International Stadium. The museum is partners with the International Physical Literacy Association and Accessible Qatar. It received over 100,000 visitors in its first 8 months after opening.

Jassim bin Hamad Stadium (Arabic: ملعب جاسم بن حمد) is an association football stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar, located about 5 kilometres (3 miles) west from the centre of Doha. It is the home of the Al Sadd Sports Club's association football team, who play in the top-flight Qatar Stars League, and is occasionally used by the Qatar men's and women's national football teams as one of their home grounds. Named after the then-Qatari Minister of Youth and Sports Jassim bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani, who had provided permission for Al Sadd's founding members to form the group in 1969, the stadium was opened in 1975, and has since been renovated twice; once for the 17th Arabian Gulf Cup in 2004, and again in 2010. In addition to hosting all matches of the Arabian Gulf Cup in 2004, the stadium has hosted numerous international association football matches throughout its history, including matches of the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup, the football tournaments at the 2006 Asian Games and 2011 Pan Arab Games, and two editions of the Italian super cup, the Supercoppa Italiana.

Fereej Al Soudan (Arabic: فريج السودان) is a district in Qatar, located in the municipality of Al Rayyan. It is mainly a residential area. In the 2015 census, it was listed as a district of Zone 55 which has a population of 283,675 and also includes Bu Sidra, Al Aziziya, Al Waab, New Fereej Al Ghanim, Muaither, Al Mearad, Fereej Al Manaseer, Fereej Al Murra and Al Sailiya. It is also listed as a district of Zone 54.It borders Al Waab district to the south and Fereej Al Nasr and Al Sadd districts in Doha to the east. The district is connected to Al Waab through Al Waab Street, and both districts are being jointly developed as part of the Fereej Al Soudan District Centre plan. Furthermore, the District Centre will be complemented by infrastructure built in the neighboring Al Rayyan South Metropolitan Centre and Al Sadd Town Centre.

Aspire Lake is the only lake in Qatar, located in Aspire Park, Doha. The lake serves as a sanctuary for several species of waterfowl and sea-faring birds, both domesticated or wild.
