West Bay Lagoon

On 9 September 2025, during the Gaza war, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted an airstrike in the Leqtaifiya district of Qatar's capital Doha, targeting the leadership of Hamas, housed in a Qatari government residential complex, as it met to discuss an active ceasefire proposal presented by the United States. The attack killed and injured Hamas members, Qatari security forces, and multiple civilians. The attack was Israel's first known attack in Qatar, and its first direct strike on a Gulf Cooperation Council member. According to reports, the intended targets included several senior Hamas figures: Khalil al-Hayya, Zaher Jabarin, Muhammad Ismail Darwish, and Khaled Mashal. Those targeted were involved in negotiations for a ceasefire to the Gaza war and an Israeli-Palestinian prisoner-hostage exchange. The Times of Israel reported on 11 September that early security assessments by Israel were that the strike failed to achieve its objective of striking all of the intended Hamas leaders, but said the reports had not been confirmed. The attack was widely "celebrated" by politicians inside Israel, whose government said it was in response to the Ramot Junction shooting the day before. The attack was widely condemned internationally, including by the United Nations Security Council with U.S. backing.

Lycée Franco-Qatarien Voltaire (Arabic: المدرسة القطرية - الفرنسية فولتير) is a French international school in West Bay, Doha, Qatar, in proximity to the Institut français du Qatar and the University of Qatar. As of 2015 it has 518 students.The school was established on 15 January 2008. It originated from an international convention agreed upon between the French and Qatari governments on 3 May 2007, which stipulates the establishment of the school. Nicolas Sarkozy and Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani attended the inauguration.

The Katara Mosque (Arabic: جامع كتارا), also known as the Great Katara Mosque and the Blue Mosque, is a mosque in the Katara Cultural Village of Doha, Qatar. The mosque was designed by Zainab Fadil Oglu, a Turkish designer. It was constructed using glittering turquoise and purple external mosaic tiles.

Al Qassar station is a station on the Red Line of Qatar's Doha Metro and serves Al Qassar and Onaiza. The station also serves the nearby Doha Exhibition Center (DEC).

Katara Cultural Village, also called Katara, is a cultural and commercial complex in Doha, Qatar, located on the eastern coast between West Bay and the Pearl. It was soft-opened in October 2010 during the Doha Tribeca Film Festival.

Al Qassar (Arabic: القصار, romanized: Al Qaşşār; also spelled to as Al Gassar) is a seafront district on Qatar's eastern coast, located in the municipality of Ad Dawhah.In the 2015 census it formed Zone 61 with Al Dafna and Zone 66 with Onaiza and Leqtaifiya.

Qatar University Stadium (Arabic: ملعب جامعة قطر) is a multi-purpose stadium of Qatar University in the Al Tarfa district of Doha, Qatar. It is commonly used for football matches and athletics events of the university. The stadium can host up to 10,000 spectators.

Jelaiah (Arabic: جليعة, romanized: Julay‘ah) is a district in Qatar, located in the municipality of Ad Dawhah. Together with Al Tarfa and Jeryan Nejaima, it makes up Zone 68 which has a total population of 5,521 as of 2015.The district hosts the Canadian Veterinary Hospital Doha and has hosted the Embassy of the Philippines in Doha since January 2013.

Mondrian Doha is a Hotel at West Bay Lagoon, Doha in Qatar. It is part of the Ennismore lifestyle hotel chain . The hotel was opened in 2017. Its interior was designed by Marcel Wanders.

Qatar University (Arabic: جامعة قطر; transliterated: Jami'at Qatar) is a public research university located on the northern outskirts of Doha, Qatar. It is the only public university in the country. The university hosts twelve colleges – Arts and Sciences, Business and Economics, Education, Engineering, Law, Sharia and Islamic Studies, Pharmacy, College of Health Science, College of Medicine, College of Dental Medicine, College of Pharmacy, College of nursing, and college of sport Science. Courses are taught in Arabic and English. Students entering the university are sometimes placed in a “Foundation Program”, which ensures the acquirement of skills such as Math and English. Many of its academic departments have received or are currently under evaluation for accreditation from a number of organizations. In addition to undergraduate academics, QU has a research infrastructure including research labs, an ocean vessel, technical equipment and a library including a collection of rare manuscripts. The university serves on behalf of the government and private industry to conduct regional research, particularly in areas of the environment and energy technologies. Qatar University has a student body of fifty-two nationalities, 65% of which are Qatari nationals. About 35% are children of expats. Women make up approximately 70% of the student population, and are provided their own set of facilities and classrooms. QU has an alumni body of over 30,000 graduates, and an active student body of over 20,000 students.

Zone 68 is a zone of the municipality of Ad Dawhah in the state of Qatar. The main districts recorded in the 2015 population census were Jelaiah, Al Tarfa, and Jeryan Nejaima.
