Medford Turnpike

The Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute (HURI) is a research institute affiliated with Harvard University devoted to Ukrainian studies, including the history, culture, language, literature, and politics of Ukraine. Other areas of study include sociology, archaeology, art, economics, and anthropology.

South Medford is the southern neighborhood of Medford, Massachusetts.

The Mystic River Reservation is a publicly owned nature preserve with recreational features located along the Mystic River in the towns of Winchester, Arlington, Medford, Somerville, Everett, and Chelsea in eastern Massachusetts. The reserve is part of the nearly 76-square-mile (200 km2) Mystic River watershed. It is managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.

Magoun Square is a neighborhood centered on the intersection of Broadway and Medford Streets on the border of Medford and Somerville, Massachusetts. It is located between the neighborhoods of Ball Square and Winter Hill. It is a mixed-use urban business district, with commercial sites in the square and residential areas surrounding it. Trum Field, a park featuring baseball diamonds and basketball courts, is near Magoun Square, as are the headquarters of the Somerville Department of Public Works. Notable residents include playwright John Shea.

The Adams-Magoun House is a historic house at 438 Broadway in Somerville, Massachusetts. Built about 1783, it is one of the city's few surviving 18th-century buildings and its best-preserved. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The Peter Tufts House (formerly and incorrectly known as the Cradock House) is a Colonial American house located in Medford, Massachusetts. It is thought to have been built between 1677 and 1678. Past historians considered it to be the oldest brick house in the United States, although that distinction belongs to Bacon's Castle, the 1665 plantation home of Virginian Arthur Allen. It is also believed to be, possibly, the oldest surviving house in the U.S. with a gambrel roof. Its brick walls are 18 inches (0.46 m) thick. Its end chimneys were incorporated into the walls, which is unusual for the time and area of its construction, and its "separate flues are brought together in the gables. The steep main roof slope (51°) is truncated at the top to form one of the earliest-known gambrel roofs."

The Broadway Winter Hill Congregational Church is a historic church building at 404 Broadway in Somerville, Massachusetts. Built in 1890–91 to a design by Hartwell and Richardson for a Congregationalist congregation founded in 1865, it is one of the city's only examples of Shingle style architecture, and one of its finer architect-designed buildings from the 19th century. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. It is now home to the Vida Real Church.

The Downer Rowhouses are two sets of Second Empire row houses that are back to back at 55 Adams Street and 192-200 Central Street, Somerville, Massachusetts. Built c. 1880, they are among the first buildings of their type built in the city. The two groups were separately listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 18, 1989, as Downer Rowhouses (Central Street) and Downer Rowhouses (Adams Street).

The Richard Pinkham House is a historic house at 24 Brooks Park in Medford, Massachusetts. The unusually shaped Italianate wood-frame house was built c. 1850 by Richard Pinkham, a housewright who then lived in the property. The house is unique in Medford in the presence of a 2+1⁄2-story octagon section, which rises above the rest of the roughly cruciform house. It was built on a portion of the route of the Middlesex Canal, portions of which were at that time being sold off by its owners.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008, and included as part of the Middlesex Canal Historic and Archeological District in 2009.

The Old Ship Street Historic District is a historic district on both sides of Pleasant St. from Riverside Ave. to Park Street in Medford, Massachusetts. The district is based around shipyard established in 1803 by Thatcher Magoun, which operated into the 1870s. None of the industrial shipyard facilities have survived, leaving the area as a predominantly residential area. Most of the housing in the area derives from the first few decades of the shipyard's existence, resulting in a significant number of Federal and Greek Revival houses, built roughly between 1803 and 1855.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

Ball Square station is an under-construction light rail station on the MBTA Green Line E branch in the Ball Square neighborhood of Somerville and Medford, Massachusetts. Ball Square will consist of one island platform, which will serve the E branch's two tracks. The station is expected to open in mid-2022 as part of the Green Line Extension.

Park Street station is a former railroad station in Medford, Massachusetts. Constructed by the Boston and Maine Railroad in 1894, the building was abandoned in the 1930s, although passenger service continued to stop until 1957. The structure was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975 as Park Street Railroad Station. It is the only extant railroad station building in Medford.
