The Internatsschule Schloss Hansenberg (ISH) is a mixed coeducational secondary boarding school in Geisenheim-Johannisberg in the Rheingau in Hesse, Germany. It was founded in 2003 by the government of Hesse and is run with the help of three companies (Public Private Partnership): The Commerzbank, the Linde Group and the Robert Bosch Stiftung.

The Geisenheim Grape Breeding Institute was founded in 1872 and is located in the town of Geisenheim, in Germany's Rheingau region. In 1876 Swiss-born professor Hermann Müller joined the institute, where he developed his namesake grape variety Müller-Thurgau, which became Germany's most-planted grape variety in the 1970s. Professor Helmut Becker worked at the institute from 1964 until his death in 1989.

The Geisenheim Yeast Breeding Center was founded in 1894 and is located in the town of Geisenheim, in Germany's Rheingau.

Nothgottes ([ˈnoːt.ɡɔt.əs], "Need of God") is a Cistercian monastery and a pilgrimage destination above Eibingen, in Rüdesheim am Rhein, Hesse, Germany. Pilgrimages to the location date back to the 14th century, and have continued to the present day, especially an annual pilgrimage from Kruft that began in 1674. The present Gothic church was built in the 15th century, and later expanded. The site became a monastery of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin. After monasteries were dissolved in 1813, it served different purposes, including as a monastery of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ from 1932, a retreat location for the Diocese of Limburg from 1951, and a home for a Community of the Beatitudes from 2006. In 2013, it became a monastery again, inhabited by Cistercians from Vietnam.

Eibingen Abbey (German: Abtei St. Hildegard, full name: Benedictine Abbey St. Hildegard) is a community of Benedictine nuns in Eibingen near Rüdesheim in Hesse, Germany. Founded by Hildegard of Bingen in 1165, it was dissolved in 1804, but restored, with new buildings, in 1904. The nuns produce wine and crafts. They sing regular services, which have been at times recorded. The church is also used as a concert venue. The abbey is a Rhine Gorge World Heritage Site.

Geisenheim is a town in the Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis in the Regierungsbezirk of Darmstadt in Hessen, Germany, and is known as Weinstadt (“Wine Town”), Schulstadt (“School Town”), Domstadt (“Cathedral Town”) and Lindenstadt (“Linden Tree Town”).

Eibingen, now a part of Rüdesheim am Rhein, Hesse, Germany is the location of Eibingen Abbey, the Benedictine monastery founded by Hildegard of Bingen in 1165 (replacing an Augustine foundation of 1148). Eibingen preserves the treasure of relics assembled by Hildegard, including the heads of Saint Gudula, Saint Bertha of Bingen, Saint Valerian, and Saint Wipert besides one arm of Saint Rupert of Bingen and Hildegard's own remains. Eibingen was a self-governing community until 1939, when under the secrecy that held sway at the time, it was forcibly amalgamated with the Rüdesheim by the National Socialists, against the community inhabitants' will.

Johannisberg is a village in Hessen, Germany. It is part of the city of Geisenheim in the Rheingau, on the right bank of the Rhine, 6 m. S. of Rüdesheim by railway. The place is mainly celebrated for the beautiful castle, Schloss Johannisberg, which crowns a hill overlooking the Rhine valley, and is surrounded by vineyards yielding the famous Johannisberger wine. The Schloss, built in 1757–1759 by the abbots of Fulda on the site of a Benedictine monastery founded in 1090, was bestowed, in 1808, by Napoleon upon Marshal Kellermann. In 1816 it was given by Francis I of Austria, to Prince Metternich, in recognition of his services as Austrian Foreign Minister.

Rheingauer Dom is the colloquial name for the Catholic parish church in Geisenheim, Germany. Officially Pfarrkirche Heilig Kreuz (Holy Cross), the large church in the Rheingau region is called Dom although it was never a bishop's seat. The present building was begun in the 16th century, but major features such as an expansion of the nave from three to five vaults, the towers, the organ and several altars were added in the 19th century. The parish is part of the Diocese of Limburg.

Rüdesheim am Rhein is a German winemaking town in the Rhine Gorge, and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site in this region. It lies in the Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis district in the Regierungsbezirk of Darmstadt, Hessen. Known as Rüdesheim, it is officially Rüdesheim am Rhein, to distinguish it from Rüdesheim an der Nahe. It is a major tourist attraction, especially for foreign visitors.

Weingut Dr. Heinrich Nägler is a German wine grower and producer based in Rüdesheim am Rhein, in the wine-growing region of Rheingau, Germany.

The Hindenburg Bridge (German: Hindenburgbrücke) was a railway bridge over the Rhine between Rüdesheim in the German state of Hesse and Bingen-Kempten state of Rhineland-Palatinate, named in 1918 after Field Marshal Paul von Hindenburg, later German President. The bridge was put in service in 1915, destroyed in the Second World War and never rebuilt. Since 2002 the remains of the Hindenburg bridge has been the easternmost point of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley.
