The siege of Buda (14 July – 30 October 1684) was a siege by the Holy Roman Empire of the Ottoman fortress of Buda. After 109 days, the siege was abandoned.

Buda (Hungarian pronunciation: [ˈbudɒ]; German: Ofen, Serbo-Croatian: Budim / Будим, Czech and Slovak: Budín, Ottoman Turkish: بودین, romanized: Budin) was the historic capital of the Kingdom of Hungary and, since 1873, has been the western part of the Hungarian capital Budapest, on the west bank of the Danube. Buda comprises a third of Budapest's total territory and is mostly wooded. Landmarks include Buda Castle, the Citadella, and the president of Hungary's residence, Sándor Palace.

Kelenföld (German: Krenfeld) is a neighborhood in Budapest, Hungary. It belongs to Újbuda, and located in the southern part of Buda. The large Kelenföld housing estate was built between 1967 and 1983 from pre-fabricated concrete blocks. The older streets around Bocskai út were mainly built in the first half of the 20th century. The Kelenföld railway station is an important transport hub of Buda, especially since 2014, when it gained convenient access to the city center thanks to the newly opened Metro Line M4. Kelenföld Power Station, the largest electrical generation plant in the world after its construction in 1912, is now a tourist attraction and has received coverage in the English-speaking world in recent years thanks in part to its Art Deco control room.

Lágymányos is a neighbourhood in the district of Újbuda in Budapest, Hungary. In 2001, Lágymányos had a population of 19,741. The Budapest University of Technology and Economics is located here, as well as some faculties of Eötvös Loránd University. The neighbourhood is served by a number of tram and bus lines, including the 4 and 6 trams.

Budin Eyalet (also known as Province of Budin/Buda or Pashalik of Budin/Buda, Ottoman Turkish: ایالت بودین, romanized: Eyālet-i Budin) was an administrative territorial entity of the Ottoman Empire in Central Europe and the Balkans. It was formed on the territories that Ottoman Empire conquered from the medieval Kingdom of Hungary and Serbian Despotate. The capital of the Budin Province was Budin (Hungarian: Buda).Population of the province was ethnically and religiously diverse and included Hungarians, Croats, Serbs, Slovaks, Muslims of various ethnic origins (living mainly in the cities) and others (Jews, Romani, etc.). The city of Buda itself became majority Muslim during the seventeenth century, largely through the immigration of Balkan Muslims.

The Lands of the Crown of Saint Stephen (Hungarian: a Szent Korona Országai), informally Transleithania (meaning the lands or region "beyond" the Leitha River), were the Hungarian territories of Austria-Hungary, throughout the latter's entire existence (30 March 1867 – 16 November 1918), and which disintegrated following its dissolution. The name referenced the historic coronation crown of Hungary, known as the Crown of Saint Stephen of Hungary, which had a symbolic importance to the Kingdom of Hungary. According to the First Article of the Croatian–Hungarian Settlement of 1868, this territory, also called Arch-Kingdom of Hungary (Archiregnum Hungaricum, pursuant to Medieval Latin terminology), was officially defined as "a state union of the Kingdom of Hungary and the Triune Kingdom of Croatia, Slavonia and Dalmatia". Though Dalmatia actually lay outside the Lands of the Crown of Saint Stephen, being part of Cisleithania, the Austrian half of the empire, it was nevertheless included in its name, due to a long political campaign seeking recognition of the Triune Kingdom, which consisted of a united Croatia, Slavonia and Dalmatia.

Dennis Gabor University (DGU) (Hungarian: Gábor Dénes Egyetem, GDE) is a private educational institution in Budapest, Hungary. It was established in 1992 as a college, and named after the Hungarian physicist Dennis Gabor (Hungarian: Gábor Dénes). It attained the rank of university in 2023. Since its foundation the University has been operating programs of IT-themed courses. Currently the school offers three different BSc courses, five post-secondary vocational training courses and four postgraduate courses to Hungarian applicants. Since 1992 more than 15,000 students have graduated at Dennis Gabor University.Dennis Gabor University was among the first few higher education institutions which introduced distance education, and certain e-learning methods. Both of the College's education courses (full-time and distance) are supported with online study content.

Central Hungary (Hungarian: Közép-Magyarország) is one of the seven statistical regions in Hungary (NUTS 1 and NUTS 2). It includes Budapest (the capital of the region) and Pest County.

Újbuda-központ (lit. "Újbuda-Centrum") is a station on Line 4 of the Budapest Metro. The station is an important traffic junction. Tramways leading to southern Buda cross road traffic from Petőfi Bridge here. It is also the southern terminus of Tramline 4. The station was opened on 28 March 2014 as part of the inaugural section of the line, from Keleti pályaudvar to Kelenföld vasútállomás.

Újbuda (lit. New Buda) is the 11th district of Budapest (Hungarian: Budapest XI. kerület), Hungary. It is the most populous district of Budapest with 137,426 inhabitants (2008). Until the 1890s, Újbuda's present territory was a field south of the historical town of Buda. The construction of a new residential area started in the 1900s, the present district was formed in 1930. From 1880 to 1980, Újbuda's population increased from 1,180 to 178,960. There are boulevards, avenues with tram lines, and communist-era housing estates in the district. Line 4 of the Budapest metro passes through Újbuda.

Lake Feneketlen (Feneketlen-tó, "Bottomless Lake") is a lake in the 11th district of Budapest, Hungary.The lake was formed in 1877, when clay was removed from the site to supply a brick factory that was situated at nearby Kosztolányi Dezső tér. The lake's water quality in the 1980s began to deteriorate, until a water circulation device was built. The fishing is forbidden on this lake.

Móricz Zsigmond körtér ("Zsigmond Móricz circus") is a square in Budapest, Hungary. Located in Újbuda, or Budapest's 11th District at the convergence of some of Budapest's major boulevards Béla Bartók út, Villányi út, Fehérvári út, and Karinthy Frigyes út, the square in close proximity to the River Danube. From 1929, the square was initially named after Miklós Horthy, but was renamed after famous Hungarian writer Zsigmond Móricz in 1945. It remains a prominent location within the city, and was a scene of fierce fighting in the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. The main feature of the intersection is the Gomba, or Mushroom. This building, constructed in 1942 in the middle of the roundabout, featured shops as well as the electrical transformer distributing current to the significant tramway network. As it was in poor condition, the mushroom was earmarked for redevelopment in line with Budapest's cultural district and construction of the M4 metro. The building was fully renovated by the summer of 2014. Budapest's new M4 metro has a stop at the square, as well as the 7, 27, 33, 58, 114, 213, 214, and 240 bus lines and the 6, 17, 19, 41, 47, 48, 49, 56, 56A, and 61 tram lines, the 6 tram line being the busiest tram service in Budapest (along with 4). The shopping mall Allee (toward Újbuda-központ metro station) and the square Kosztolányi Dezső tér along with its park around Feneketlen-tó ("Bottomless Lake") are available at a walking distance.
