Saint-Hubert Air Base

Saint-Hubert Airfield (ICAO: EBSH) is a public use airfield located near Saint-Hubert, Belgium, Luxembourg, Wallonia, Belgium. It is the second highest aerodrome in Belgium at 1,847 ft (563 m) above sea level. It has four grass runways, in two parallel pairs, almost perpendicular; several aircraft hangars are rented on the site. It is located in the heart of the Ardennes, in uncontrolled airspace.

Saint-Hubert Abbey (French: Abbaye de Saint-Hubert), officially the Abbey of St Peter in the Ardennes (Abbaye de Saint-Pierre en Ardennes), was a Benedictine monastery founded in the Ardennes in 687 and suppressed in 1797. The former abbey church is now a minor basilica in the diocese of Namur, Belgium. It was listed as built heritage in 1938, and as an exceptional monument in 2016.

Saint-Hubert (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃.t‿y.bɛʁ] ; Walloon: Sint-Houbert) is a city and municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Luxembourg, Belgium. On 1 January 2007 the municipality, which covers 111.16 km2 (42.92 sq mi), had 5,737 inhabitants, giving a population density of 51.6 inhabitants per square kilometre. The municipality consists of the following districts: Arville, Awenne, Hatrival, Mirwart, Saint-Hubert, and Vesqueville. Other population centers include: Lorcy and Poix-Saint-Hubert. The town is named in commemoration of Saint Hubert, whose body was moved in 825 to the Benedictine Abbey of Andage, thereafter called Abbey of Saint-Hubert.

Sainte-Ode (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃t ɔd]; Walloon: Sinte-Oude) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Luxembourg, Belgium. On 1 January 2007, the municipality, which covers 97.87 km², had 2,305 inhabitants, giving a population density of 23.6 inhabitants per km². Nassogne (French pronunciation: [nasɔɲ]) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Luxembourg, Belgium. On 1 January 2007 the municipality, which covers 111.96 km2, had 5,045 inhabitants, giving a population density of 45.1 inhabitants per km2. The municipality consists of the following districts: Ambly, Bande, Forrières, Grune, Harsin, Lesterny, Masbourg (including Mormont), and Nassogne.

Laval Castle (French: Château-ferme de Laval) is a château-ferme, or fortified farmhouse, in the hamlet of Laval in Tillet in the municipality of Sainte-Ode, province of Luxembourg, Wallonia, Belgium. The present building is a house of the 17th century, the oldest surviving part of which is a cellar of the 14th century, from a previous structure. The château-ferme is open to the public, and its outbuildings are available for overnight accommodation.

Boxhorn (Luxembourgish: Boxer) is a village in the commune of Wincrange, canton of Clervaux, district of Diekirch in northern Luxembourg. As of 2018, the village had a population of 398. Boxhorn is located in the region of Diekirch. Diekirch's capital Diekirch (Diekirch) is approximately 27 km / 17 mi away from Boxhorn (as the crow flies).

The Arrondissement of Neufchâteau (French: Arrondissement de Neufchâteau; Dutch: Arrondissement Neufchâteau) is one of the five administrative arrondissements in the Walloon province of Luxembourg, Belgium. It is both an administrative and a judicial arrondissement. However, the Judicial Arrondissement of Neufchâteau also comprises the municipalities of Bastogne, Bertogne, Fauvillers, Sainte-Ode and Vaux-sur-Sûre in the Arrondissement of Bastogne.

The Chenogne massacre was a war crime committed by members of the 11th Armored Division, an American combat unit, near Chenogne, Belgium, on January 1, 1945, during the Battle of the Bulge. According to eyewitness accounts, an estimated 80 German prisoners of war were massacred by their American captors; the prisoners were assembled in a field and shot with machine guns. It was one of several war crimes committed during the Battle of the Bulge by members of both Allied and Axis forces.The events were covered up at the time, and none of the perpetrators were ever punished. Postwar historians believe the killings were carried out on verbal orders by senior commanders that "no prisoners were to be taken".

Chenogne (Walloon: Dj'none) is a village of Wallonia in the municipality of Vaux-sur-Sûre, district of Sibret, located in the province of Luxembourg, Belgium.On January 1, 1945 American soldiers are alleged to have massacred German Wehrmacht soldiers during World War II (see the Chenogne massacre) in retaliation to a previous massacre of American soldiers by the Waffen SS.

The Battle of Bure was part of the Battle of the Bulge, which lasted from 3 to 5 January 1945 during the final months of the Second World War. The battle was fought as part of the Allied counterattack to force the Germans from ground that they had captured and which had forced the Allies on the defensive. XXX Corps with British 6th Airborne Division attached, was to clear the area east of Dinant, Rochefort, Grupont and Bure in Belgium. Bure was secured after nearly three days of heavy fighting whilst Gupont and Rochefort were both cleared with little resistance and the advance continued.

Libin (French pronunciation: [libɛ̃]) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Luxembourg, Belgium. On 1 January 2019 the municipality, which covers 140.5 km2, had 5,223 inhabitants, giving a population density of 37.2 inhabitants per km2.The municipality consists of the following districts: Anloy, Libin, Ochamps, Redu, Smuid, Transinne, and Villance. Other population centers include: Glaireuse, Hamaide, Lesse, Libin-Bas, Libin-Haut, and Sèchery. Redu is famous for its bookshops, and for hosting a large European Space Agency ground station. Also in the municipality is the Euro Space Center tourist attraction, close to Transinne. Sèchery is known as a popular location for marriages and company seminars (e.g. Antwerp Management School,...).
