San Miguel de Abona

Arona is a municipality in the southern part of the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, Spanish region and archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, in Macaronesia. The municipality covers an area of 81.79 square kilometres comprising 4% of the island's area. The town of Arona is 59 km southwest of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the island's capital. The population in 2017 was about 93,496. It is the third largest city in Tenerife, after, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and San Cristóbal de La Laguna. Arona has a pleasant climate with temperatures ranging from 20 to 25 degrees Celsius. Notable places include the tourist resorts of Los Cristianos, Playa de las Americas, Costa del Silencio and Las Galletas. Arona also features Punta Salemas, the southernmost point of the island of Tenerife. The TF-1 motorway passes through the municipality.

Vilaflor is a municipality and village in the south-central part of the island of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands, and part of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (province), Spain. Vilaflor, with an altitude of 1,400 m, is the highest village on Tenerife, situated south of the Teide volcano. It is located 7 km north of San Miguel de Abona and 51 km southwest of the island's capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The population is 1,645 (2018) and the area is 56.26 km².

The Sanctuary of the Santo Hermano Pedro is a pilgrimage temple located in the town of Vilaflor, south of the island of Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain). The shrine is dedicated to Saint Peter of Saint Joseph Betancur, the first Saint of the Canary Islands.

Cho, also known as Parque de la Reina, is a village in the municipality of Arona, on the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, Spain. It is situated south of the Autopista TF-1, 1 kilometer east of the town of Guaza.

Tenerife South Airport (Spanish: Aeropuerto de Tenerife Sur) (IATA: TFS, ICAO: GCTS), also known as Tenerife South–Reina Sofía Airport, is the larger of the two international airports located on the island of Tenerife (the other being Tenerife North Airport) and the second busiest in the Canary Islands (after Gran Canaria Airport). It is located in the municipality of Granadilla de Abona and handled over 11 million passengers in 2018. Combined with Tenerife North Airport, the island gathers the highest passenger movement of all the Canary Islands, with 12,248,673 passengers, surpassing Gran Canaria Airport.

The Cave-Shrine of Santo Hermano Pedro, is a Roman Catholic cave-shrine dedicated to Saint Peter of Saint Joseph Betancur (Canary first saint). It is located in the municipality of Granadilla de Abona, near El Medano on the south of the island of Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain), at the end of the Tenerife South Airport runway.

Las Águilas-Jungle Park is a zoological and botanical park located near the Los Cristianos beach on the Canary Island of Tenerife. Consisting of 7.5 hectares (19 acres) of jungle with over 500 animals, the park contains a number of walking paths with tunnels, suspension bridges, waterfalls, lagoons, and caves. The park also boasts daily flight shows featuring exotic birds and birds of prey. Las Águilas-Jungle Park is operated by Spanish tourism group Aspro Ocio S.A. It is the largest such group operating in Europe and is better known for its chain of parks called Aqualand. One of the park's main attractions are two white lions from South Africa these make up a big cat collection including leopards, jaguars, Bengal tiger, white tigers and pumas. The park also has a large primate collection including orangutans, gibbons, chimpanzees, mandrill, lemurs, capuchin monkeys, titi monkeys and Saimiri. The park's bird collection includes cranes, ibises, flamingoes, swans, storks, parrots, macaws, vultures, falcons, eagles and penguins. Other animals include pygmy hippopotamus, crocodiles, caiman, raccoons, red panda and meerkats.

Los Abrigos is a small fishing village in Granadilla de Abona, Tenerife. It has a small harbour, which developers want to expand.

The Hospital del Sur de Tenerife (in English: Hospital of the South of Tenerife) is located in the municipality of Arona, in the south of the island of Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain).It was opened in 2015. The Hospital del Sur de Tenerife is, together with its counterpart the Hospital del Norte de Tenerife, the main health centers in the island of Tenerife after the third level hospitals: the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria (in Santa Cruz de Tenerife) and the Hospital Universitario de Canarias (in San Cristóbal de La Laguna). It is a center with coverage for the municipalities of the south of the island of Tenerife. The Hospital of the South of Tenerife has, according to its classification as a second level hospital, with services of hospitalization, advanced diagnosis, emergencies, major ambulatory surgery, rehabilitation, etc.

Tomás Zerolo airfield (Spanish: aeródromo "Tomás Zerolo") was an aerodrome near El Médano, Granadilla de Abona, Tenerife, Canary Islands. It operated between 1962 and 1978. Only the remains of the control tower still exist.

Laboratorio de Energía Solar Termoeléctrica is an abandoned dish structure near to El Medano, Tenerife, in the Canary Islands. It was built in 2008 to generate solar energy, but was constructed without permission and was abandoned in 2009.

The Barranco del Infierno (in English: "Hell's Gorge") is a ravine located in the town of Adeje in the south of the island of Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. It is the second most-visited protected area on the island. A popular hiking trail leads through the ravine to the highest waterfall on Tenerife. Access to the gorge is controlled by a limitation of 300 daily visitors. It is not permitted to under-5s, and under-18s must be accompanied by an adult. Reservations can be done online. The trail was closed for security reasons after a deadly accident in 2009 and again on October 26 2015, but was reopened on February 10 2016. The biggest change of all is the compulsory wearing of crash helmets. Currently it is open all the way to the end, except on rainy and windy days, additional safety measures have been implemented. The path takes approximately three and a half hours, between the outward and return journey, and the total route is approximately 6.5 km. The area is very important archaeologically, since there are hundreds of caves that were home to many aboriginal Guanches, as well as caves with engravings. The largest collection of Guanche mummies and utensils were found here and placed in the Museum of Nature and Man of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
