Spirit of Justice Park is a park in Washington, D.C., in the United States. Bounded by C Street to the north, D Street to the south, Delaware Ave SW to the west and New Jersey Ave SE to the east, the park is located south of the United States Capitol and is separated into two sections by South Capitol Street Southwest. Spirit of Justice Park is a green roof on an underground parking garage built by the Architect of the Capitol to service the House Office Buildings. A number of buildings were demolished to make way for the House parking garage, including the George Washington Inn (pictured).

The Chick is an oil painting traditionally given to the most junior member of the state of Washington's congressional delegation. The tradition started when representative Joel Pritchard, who had been given the painting by a friend in 1972, passed it on to newly-elected Norm Dicks in 1977. It is currently held by Representative Emily Randall of the 6th congressional district, who is the 33rd recipient of the painting.

The Longworth House Office Building (LHOB) is one of five office buildings used by the United States House of Representatives. The building is located south of the Capitol, bounded by Independence Avenue, New Jersey Avenue, C Street S.E., and South Capitol Street, in southeast Washington. It has a floor area of 599,675 square feet (55,711.6 m2) and has a total of 251 congressional offices and suites, five large committee rooms, seven small committee rooms, and a large assembly room now used by the Ways and Means Committee. The building was named in 1962 in honor of the former Speaker of the House, Nicholas Longworth of Ohio. He served as Speaker from 1925 until Republicans lost their majority in 1931, the same year he died, and the same year the building was authorized.

The Butler Building was a mansion in Washington, D.C., constructed by Benjamin Franklin Butler. It served as the headquarters of the U.S. Marine Hospital Service, and its successor the Public Health Service, from 1891 until 1929. It also contained a purpose-built fire-proof unit to store archives of the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey. It was demolished in 1929 to construct the Longworth House Office Building.
