Sanofi Pasteur is the vaccines division of the French multinational pharmaceutical company Sanofi. Sanofi Pasteur is the largest company in the world devoted entirely to vaccines. It is one of four global producers of the yellow fever vaccine.

The École normale supérieure lettres et sciences humaines (ENS LSH) was an elite French grande école specialising in the arts, humanities and social sciences. It was one of two Écoles normales supérieures (ENS) to be based in Lyon; the two came together in 2010 with the creation of the new École Normale Supérieure de Lyon.

The Jewish cemetery of Lyon, also called the Israelite Cemetery of Gerland or de la Mouche, is a Jewish cemetery located in Gerland, in the 7th arrondissement of Lyon, France. It is the only Jewish burial site in the city.

The Stade de Gerland (known for sponsorship reasons as Matmut Stadium de Gerland and otherwise known as Municipal de Gerland or Stade Gerland [stad ʒɛʁlɑ̃]) is a stadium in the city of Lyon, France, which serves as home to Top 14 rugby club Lyon OU. It has a seating capacity of 35,000. Situated in the Gerland quarter, it was used by French professional football club Olympique Lyonnais, who moved to the newly constructed Parc Olympique Lyonnais in 2016. Local rugby union club Lyon OU moved in beginning of 2017, replacing their much smaller stadium Matmut Stadium. The stadium's capacity was also reduced from 43,000 to a more reasonable 25,000. The Stade de Gerland is listed as a Category three stadium by UEFA's standards and has hosted matches for the 1954 and 1972 Rugby League World Cups, UEFA Euro 1984, the 1998 FIFA World Cup, and the 2007 Rugby World Cup. The stadium has hosted concerts by many famous artists, including The Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Pink Floyd and Genesis.

The École normale supérieure de Lyon (also known as ENS de Lyon, ENSL or Normale Sup' Lyon) is a French grande école located in the city of Lyon. It is one of the four prestigious écoles normales supérieures in France. The school is composed of two academic units —Arts and Sciences— with campuses in Lyon, near the confluence of the Rhône and Saône rivers. ENSL's students usually enjoy a special civil servant status in the wake of highly competitive exams, providing they pursue careers in public service. Although it maintains extensive connections with the University of Lyon and external research institutions, including the CNRS, the school remains independent.

Palais des Sports de Gerland is an indoor sporting arena located in Lyon, France. The seating capacity of the arena is 5,910 people.

Lyon-Jean Macé station (French: Gare de Lyon-Jean Macé) is a railway station in the 7th arrondissement of Lyon. It is situated on the Paris–Marseille railway and the Lyon–Geneva railway. The station is a part of the Lyon urban area rapid transit network. It was aimed to decongest the major stations Part-Dieu and Perrache while allowing access to the public transport of Lyon (TCL). The station began operation on 13 December 2009.

The Lyon Anglican Church (now known as Trinity Church Lyon) is a church of the Anglican Archdeaconry of France, part of the Diocese of Europe and is run by the Intercontinental Church Society. English-language church services were first held in Lyon by a Rev. McDermott as early as 1843. Then, in 1853 Rev. E.L. Ward was appointed as chaplain. The first Confirmation Service took place in 1863. In the early days, the congregation shared a Chapel in the Cordeliers area of the city with Lyon's German-speaking Protestant congregation which later became the Lutheran Church and French-speaking. On 18 February 1873 Holy Trinity, on the quays of the river Rhône was consecrated for use as a church building. Services were held here until 19 May 1969, when the building was sold and later demolished, although some wooden crosses - one of which now serves as the central Cross in the Chapel - were made from the old pews. In a return to its origins, Lyon Anglican Church became known as Trinity Church Lyon in September 2017. Services were then held at the Centre St. Irénée, Place Gailleton, until December 1978 and then at Mains Ouvertes, Part Dieu, from January 1979 to December 1995. The first service at the next location in rue de Créqui was held on 10 December 1995. Services were held in the chapel of the Couvent de l'Adoration Réparatrice, 131 boulevard Yves Farges from December 2007. Starting in October 2018, Sunday services were held at Notre Dame de Lourdes, 63 rue des Essarts, 69500 Bron. In November 2021, the church moved to the Eglise protestante unie de France (United Protestant Church of France) premises at 50 rue Bancel, Lyon 69007. The current full-time chaplain is Ben Harding.

The Halle Tony Garnier is an arena and concert hall in Lyon, France. It was designed by Tony Garnier in 1905. Originally a slaughterhouse, the building was renovated in 1987 and opened as a concert hall in 1988. With a capacity of nearly 17,000, it is the third biggest venue in France after the Accor Arena and Paris La Défense Arena.

Avenue Berthelot is a street in the 7th (Guillotière) and 8th arrondissement (Bachut) of Lyon which connects the Galliéni bridge at the east to the A43 highway via the avenue Jean Mermoz which extends it to the west.

On 12 February 2026, Quentin Deranque, a 23-year-old French far-right activist, was beaten by several far-left individuals in what has variously been described as a "brawl" between members of the far-right and the far-left, or as a "lynching", in Lyon, France. Deranque was there "to provide security" for the femonationalist group Collectif Némésis. Many of the arrested individuals were linked to the outlawed far-left militant anti-fascist collective Jeune Garde Antifasciste (English: Anti-Fascist Young Guard). Deranque died from brain injuries two days later in hospital. Deranque's death, initially reported as an attack on an isolated victim, rather than a brawl between two armed groups, provoked national political reactions in the lead-up to the March 2026 French municipal elections and a minute of silence held in the National Assembly. Politically, Deranque's death led to the isolation of left-wing party La France Insoumise (LFI), as the party was close to the Jeune Garde. On 17 February 2026, LFI leader Jean-Luc Mélenchon reiterated his party's "great affection" for the Jeune Garde. In late February 2026, Mélenchon accused the far-right feminist collective Némésis of having deliberately organised a "trap" (traquenard) by using its members as bait to provoke clashes with antifascist militants around Rima Hassan's conference in Lyon. Part of the French political class accused the far-left, or the ultra-left, of being responsible, while the public prosecutor office and the police sought to identify the perpetrators. Justice minister Gérald Darmanin and interior minister Laurent Nuñez both commented on the early progress of the investigation, claiming that the far-left was behind the attack. Citing videos of the event, several journalistic investigations gradually called into question the initial version of events by Némésis, particularly regarding who was responsible for the clashes between the two groups. Further investigations revealed that Némésis had repeatedly coordinated with far-right groups in Lyon to provoke clashes with left-wing activists.
