Vega Baja (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈbeɣa ˈβaxa]) is a town and municipality located on the coast of north central Puerto Rico. It is north of Morovis, east of Manatí, and west of Vega Alta. Vega Baja is spread over 14 barrios. The population of the municipality was 54,414 at the 2020 census. It is part of the San Juan–Caguas–Guaynabo metropolitan statistical area.

Vega Baja barrio-pueblo is a barrio and downtown area that serves as the administrative center (seat) of Vega Baja, a municipality of Puerto Rico. Its population in 2010 was 816.

Central San Vicente was the first sugarcane refinery in Puerto Rico, established in 1873 by Leonardo Igaravidez at Vega Baja.

The Casa Portela Museum (Spanish: Museo Casa Portela) is a historic house and local history museum located in Vega Baja Pueblo, the administrative and historic center of the municipality of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. The museum consists of a historic home locally known as the Portela House (Casa Portela) and an adjacent modern museum building located in a revitalized historic city block bordered by Hostos Street to the east, and the José Julián Acosta and Betances Streets to the north and south, respectively. In addition to the museum, the building also houses municipal institutions, a history research center and the municipality's sports hall of fame. The museum collections include pieces from the history of the municipality of Vega Baja from the time of its indigenous Taino inhabitants to modern times, general information about the geography and nature of the region, and notable memorabilia and personal belongings of some of the most famous figures from Vega Baja, such as the Trio Vegabajeño.

Panteón Otero-Martínez, also known as Otero-Martinez Mausoleum, is a mausoleum which was built in 1886. It is located in the Old Vega Baja Cemetery, in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as "Panteon Otero-Martinez" in 1984, and on the Puerto Rico Register of Historic Sites and Zones in 2000. It is a mausoleum that measures 10.25 feet (3.12 m) by 11.833 feet (3.607 m) and is located in a fenced lot that is 19 feet (5.8 m) by 17.667 feet (5.385 m).

Río Abajo is a barrio in the municipality of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. Its population in 2010 was 4,795.

Cabo Caribe is a barrio in the municipality of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. Its population in 2010 was 3,989.

The Indio River (Spanish: Río Indio) is a river of Vega Baja and Morovis in Puerto Rico. Indio River has mogotes on either side. Indio River meets Cibuco River. The river is quick to rise and causes flooding when there is heavy rain.

Ceiba is a barrio in the municipality of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. Its population in 2010 was 4,685.

Almirante Norte is a barrio in the municipality of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. Its population in 2010 was 4,397.

Pugnado Afuera is a barrio in the municipality of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. Its population in 2010 was 11,808.

The Cibuco River (Spanish: Río Cibuco) is a river located in northern Puerto Rico. The river has its source in the municipality of Corozal and flows through Vega Alta and Vega Baja municipalities, where its mouth is located, at Cibuco Bay. The Cibuco is about 23.75 miles long, with notable tributaries being the Indio, Mavilla and Corozal Rivers. The river also feeds into the Cibuco Swamp, one of the largest swamps in Puerto Rico which today is protected as a nature reserve. The river flooded up to 15 feet during Hurricane Maria in some neighborhoods and as late as 2019, the river floods when rains are heavy.
