Gammalstorp

Vesan is a former lake in Sölvesborg, Blekinge County, Sweden. Originally Vesan was a strait. In the area between Ryssberget and Listerlandet, water from Hanöbukten flowed in and in effect cut off Listerlandet from the rest of the mainland. The sound was open to sail through until the 18th century, but increased growth of reeds made the opening too narrow.The area around Vesan contains the earliest evidence of human habitation in Blekinge, a small settlement dating to 9700 BC. Nowadays the former lake is farmland. The church of Gammalstorp lies on the small hill that formerly was an island.

Ysane is a village situated in Sölvesborg Municipality, Blekinge County, Sweden with 212 inhabitants in 2005. It was its own municipality between 1861 and 1952. The community was built around the church, which stems from the late 13th century.

Norje is a locality situated in Sölvesborg Municipality, Blekinge County, Sweden with 657 inhabitants in 2010.Since 1998, Norje has been the location of the Sweden Rock Festival.

Ryssberget is a hill in the municipality of Sölvesborg, in the southeastern Swedish province of Blekinge. Ryssberget is made up of some of the oldest stone in Blekinge, so-called metavulcanites created about 1700 million years ago. As the ice age came to an end, the ice melted away creating the Baltic Ice Lake. This covered most of what is now mainland Blekinge and Scania. The highest level of the lake can be seen on Ryssberget and is called the highest coast line (Swedish: högsta kustlinjen). As the glaciers continued to melt, land began to rise and this created in turn what is now the Baltic Sea.

The Sölvesborg Bridge is a 760 meter long walk- and biking bridge over the Sölvesborg Bay Area in Blekinge. The bridge was officially opened on 25 May 2013.The bridge was constructed by the local company Stål och Rörmontage.In 2016, the bridge was named one of the eleven most spectacular bridges in the world by CNN.

Sölvesborg Municipality (Sölvesborgs kommun) is a municipality in Blekinge County in South Sweden in southern Sweden. It borders to Bromölla Municipality, Olofström Municipality and Karlshamn Municipality. The town Sölvesborg is the seat of the municipality. The present municipality was formed in 1971 when the City of Sölvesborg was amalgamated with the rural municipalities Gammalstorp and Mjällby.

Listerlandet is a peninsula in Sölvesborg Municipality, Blekinge County, Sweden. Its main settlement is Mjällby.

Mjällby is a locality situated in Sölvesborg Municipality, Blekinge County, Sweden with 1,254 inhabitants in 2010. It is located on the Listerlandet peninsula. The town has traditionally lived of fishing. The nearby harbour of Nogersund is the third largest fishery harbour in Sweden. The fishery industry is also dominant on the peninsula. Listerlandet is also the fur farming centre of Sweden. Fur farming is currently under heavy political debate in Sweden. Mjällby is known for its football team which has played in the Swedish national football league a few times. Among footballfans in Sweden the team of Mjällby AIF is known as "the team that always returns". In September 2009 the team once again qualified for the highest division and played five seasons in Allsvenskan before being relegated at the end of the 2014 season. The mathematician Lars Hörmander was born in Mjällby. A suburb of the town built by a local housing company was unofficially known for around 40 years by locals as Negerby (Negro village) because of the black chimneys on the houses. In 2012 the use of this name was reported by a journalist and following the public outcry the housing company decided to use the temporary name of Slottsstaden (Castle City).

Pukavik is a bimunicipal locality situated in Sölvesborg Municipality and Karlshamn Municipality in Blekinge County, Sweden with 279 inhabitants in 2010.Of Pukavik's 279 inhabitants, 157 live in Sölvesborg Municipality and 126 in Karlshamn Municipality, both in Blekinge County. Historically Pukavik served as a shipbuilding center, constructing trading vessels suited to the ice and storms of the Baltic. Several noted wooden sailing vessels were built in Pukavik. These include: The Black Opal, 1909. Renamed The Black Pearl, has a long and varied history, including use in the movie Popeye; currently serving as a restaurant in a marina in Malta. Yngve, 1929; a three-masted schooner built of oak and pine. Renamed Lindö in 1939 and continued trading under Swedish flag until 1969. Sold in 1970 for re-rigging as three-masted topsail schooner named Lindø, for charter trade. Registered in Cayman Islands. Took part in the 1976 Tall Ships Race from Plymouth, UK, to USA. 1977 Sold to American owner, acquires US flag. 1978 used for the making of Peter Benchley's movie "The Island". Becomes roving ambassador for city of Alexandria, Virginia, in 1983 and name changed to Alexandria in 1984. Sold to private owner in September 1996 and foundered off Cape Hatteras on 9 December that year. Orion, 1945. Renamed S.V. Earl of Pembroke, an 18th-century 3 masted barque used in many films: Treasure Island, A Respectable Trade, Moll Flanders, Cutthroat Island, Frenchman's Creek, Shaka Zulu, Longitude, and Wives and Daughters.
