Valjeviken

Valje (Swedish pronunciation: [ˈvâlːjɛ]) is a bimunicipal locality divided by Bromölla Municipality, Skåne County and Sölvesborg Municipality, Blekinge County in Sweden. It had 823 inhabitants in 2010. The small river Sissebäck makes up the border between the municipalities. The greater part is in Scania, with about 10% of the population in Blekinge.

It borders to Bromölla Municipality, Olofström Municipality and Karlshamn Municipality. The town Sölvesborg is the seat of the municipality. The present municipality was formed in 1971 when the City of Sölvesborg was amalgamated with the rural municipalities Gammalstorp and Mjällby.

The Sölvesborg Bridge is a 760 meter long walk- and biking bridge over the Sölvesborg Bay Area in Blekinge. The bridge was officially opened on 25 May 2013.The bridge was constructed by the local company Stål och Rörmontage.In 2016, the bridge was named one of the eleven most spectacular bridges in the world by CNN.

Sandviken, together with the neighbouring town of Västra Näs, is one of the many minor communities and beaches of Sölvesborg in southeastern Sweden. Historically, this part of the Listerlandet was the first place to be inhabited, when the first settlers arrived to this part of Sweden in the Nordic Bronze Age, i.e., approximately 500. Finds from inhabitants here are at display at the museum of Sölvesborg. From here, the early settlers spread to other parts of the area, and Sandviken became a part of the surrounding farming settlements.In the early 20th century, Västra Näs was mainly reached via a ferry service from Tredenborg, just outside the central city of Sölvesborg. The ferry traffic was partially industrial and partially for the benefit of people looking to go swimming on the beaches. Today, Sandviken and Västra Näs form a largely summer residential area with only a few permanent inhabitants.

Ivetofta is a village and a suburb of Bromölla, in Skåne County in southern Sweden. With a history going back to the 12th century, it was once a rural municipality in the former Kristianstad County. It lies on the eastern bank of Ivö Lake, between Ivö and the smaller lake Levrasjön. The Ivetofta Local Historical Society was founded in 1981 and as of 2013 has nearly 500 members.

Bromölla (Swedish pronunciation: [brʊˈmœ̂lːa]) is a locality and the seat of Bromölla Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 7,595 inhabitants in 2010.The town of Bromölla only consisted of a few houses until it began to grow about 100 years ago around a newly established limestone quarry, leading to the establishment of several ceramics industries. The area has grown up around the entailed estate of Årup and the pertaining parish of Ivetofta. As the railroad between Kristianstad and Sölvesborg established a station in 1886, the first ceramic industri - Ifö - was opened in 1887.
