Stepney, also referred to as Stepney Village and Upper Stepney, is a district of the town of Monroe, Connecticut, and on the Connecticut State Register of Historic Places. Consisting of approximately 8 square miles (21 km2), Stepney extends from the Trumbull town line, along Route 25, to the Newtown town line. It was listed as a census-designated place prior to the 2020 census.First settled around 1720, Stepney was originally a productive farming community made up of transplants from settlements to the south such as Fairfield and Stratford. In the early 19th century, Stepney became a transportation hub for travelers going to and from the city of Danbury and the Greater Bridgeport areas as travelers followed the Bridgeport and Newtown Turnpike, the first paved road in the town of Monroe, and along Hattertown Road. Once a depot for the Housatonic Railroad, and home to the town of Monroe's first fire department, the Stepney Volunteer Fire Department, today Stepney is home to over a dozen historic buildings dating from before the 20th century, and is predominantly a suburban community with the majority of its business located along the Route 25 corridor.

Great Hollow Lake is approximately 16 acres (65,000 m2) in size and is a part of William E. Wolfe Park, located in Monroe, Connecticut. The lake includes a trout park with approximately 700 feet (210 m) of beach and facilities. Fishing, swimming and non-motorized boating are all permitted.

WMNR (88.1 FM, "Fine Arts Radio") is a radio station licensed to Monroe, Connecticut. The station is municipally owned by the Town of Monroe and broadcasts mainly classical music.

Gregory's Four Corners Burial Ground, a cemetery established in Trumbull, Connecticut in 1761, is located on Spring Hill Road near the Monroe town line and is maintained by the Trumbull Parks Commission.

Stepney Cemetery is an old cemetery in Monroe, Connecticut, United States, located in the village of Stepney. It was established next to the Stepney Green in 1794. Many of the area's earliest settlers are buried in the cemetery; the oldest headstone belongs to Nathaniel W. Knapp (died 1787). The cemetery is also known as Birdsey's Plain Cemetery or Beardsley Plain Cemetery. Next to the cemetery is Our Lady of The Rosary Chapel. Ed and Lorraine Warren are buried in this cemetery.

Christ Episcopal Church and Tashua Burial Ground is a historic property including an Episcopal Church building and cemetery at 5170 Madison Avenue in Trumbull, Connecticut. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

The David Mallett Jr. House, also known as The Mallett House, is a historical site located at 420 Tashua Road in Trumbull, Connecticut. It lies directly across Tashua Road from the Christ Episcopal Church and Tashua Burial Ground. The site consists of a 1.5-acre (6,100 m2) property and two buildings. The residence measures 3,196 square feet (296.9 m2), was constructed in 1760, and is privately owned. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.It is an exceptionally well-preserved center-chimney colonial farmhouse, and has significance for its 150-year history of association with the Mallett family.

Tashua is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Trumbull, Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. It occupies the northwest corner of Trumbull. Tashua was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.

The Old Mine Park Archaeological Site is a historic site in the Long Hill section of Trumbull, Connecticut, United States. It was mined from 1828 to 1920 and during 1942-1946, and has been incorporated in a municipal park. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Long Hill is a village/neighborhood and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Trumbull in Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. It is located west of the Pequonnock River. The main thoroughfare is Connecticut Route 111, present-day Main Street. It was listed as a census-designated place prior to the 2020 census.

Monroe is a town located in eastern Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 18,825 at the 2020 census. The town is part of the Greater Bridgeport Planning Region. Monroe is largely considered a bedroom community of New York City, New Haven, and Bridgeport.

The Kaatz Icehouse was a historic ice cutting facility located on the shore of Kaatz Pond, off Whitney Road in Trumbull, Connecticut. Built in 1908, it served in this role until 1955, and was believed to be one of the last surviving structures of this type in the state. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. Following its demolition in 1978, it was delisted in 2009.It was a wood-framed structure, built in 1908 by Ernest Kaatz, who ran an ice harvesting operation between 1908 and 1955. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 19, 1977. It was razed in 1978 due to deterioration. The local historical society claims it was the last icehouse standing in New England.
