Johnson County Community College

Studio 804 is a graduate level architecture design studio developed by Professor Dan Rockhill at the University of Kansas. The course is distinguished from typical architecture studios in that it is a design-build studio in which the students work collaboratively to not only design a project but to actually construct it. Studio 804 is a two-semester, 9 month commitment. During the first semester students work collectively to determine a client for the next project. Once a client is established, students usually have 2 months to design the project beginning with the Schematic Design phase and seeing it through to Construction Documents. The second semester usually begins in early January to start off the building process. One home is built by Studio 804 annually.Students are responsible for acquiring all material for the project, and maintaining the budget. The students also take part in constructing the entire project themselves with the help of subs for mechanical/electrical/ and plumbing work. Once certain aspects of the project are completed, code officials step in to inspect for proper construction methods. Contrary to earlier contemporary prefabricated designs which allow for easier, cheaper constructions that can be assembled in a shorted time frame that typical housing projects, the studio has leaned toward two commercial projects the past two years.Each year roughly 22 students enroll in the program with hopes of receiving their Masters and a prestigious building to add to their résumé. The mission of the studio is very similar to that of the famous Rural Studio pioneered by Samuel Mockbee at Auburn University.

Saint Thomas Aquinas High School is a private, Roman Catholic high school in Overland Park, Kansas, United States, serving students in grades 9-12. It is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas. The current co-chaplains are Fr. Andrew Gaffney and Fr. Brent Stull; the president is Brian Schenck, and the principal is Craig Moss; vice-principles are Kara DiCarlo, and Lori Greeson. Saint Thomas Aquinas is one of several private high schools located in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. The school colors are navy blue and old gold. The school was established in 1988 in order to accommodate the growing Roman Catholic population in south Johnson County. It is the successor to St. Joseph/Aquinas High School, which was located in the present-day Saint Joseph Early Education Center in Shawnee, Kansas. Saint Thomas Aquinas is a member of the Kansas State High School Activities Association and offers a variety of sports programs. Athletic teams compete in the 5A division (Football competed in 4A for the 22-23 season) and are known as the "Saints". Extracurricular activities are also offered in the form of performing arts, school publications, and clubs.

The University of Kansas Edwards Campus, also known as the KU Edwards Campus, is a satellite campus of the University of Kansas. The campus is located in Overland Park in the Kansas City metropolitan area; its four buildings are located on a 34.8 acres (14.1 ha) site at 127th Street and Quivira Road. The University of Kansas opened its Edwards Campus in December 1992. As of 2021, more than 2,500 students were enrolled at the campus.

Oak Park Mall is a super-regional shopping mall located in Overland Park, Kansas, containing over 180 stores in a covered area of 1,607,803 sq ft (149,369.8 m2). It is the largest mall in the Kansas City Metro Area as well as the entire state of Kansas, and is split into two levels and contains five department stores. It was developed by Copaken, White & Blitt in conjunction with Frank Morgan and Sherman Dreiseszun. The mall is anchored by two Dillard's locations, Macy's, Nordstrom, JCPenney and H&M.

Congregation Beth Israel Abraham Voliner is an Orthodox Jewish congregation in Overland Park, in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. Formally established as Tefereth Israel in Kansas City, Missouri in 1894, by 1960 it had moved several times, and merged with three other congregations, taking on its current name. Responding to demographic shifts in Kansas City's Orthodox community, it opened a branch in Overland Park in 1987, and in 1994 it moved to its current location at 9900 Antioch Road.Morey Schwartz was the congregation's rabbi from 1991 to 2000, Ari Perl served from 2000 through 2003, and David S. Fine served from 2003 through 2008. As of 2008 Beth Israel Abraham Voliner was the only Orthodox synagogue in Kansas City. As of 2010 it was the only Orthodox synagogue in the State of Kansas, and the rabbi was Daniel Rockoff. As of 2019, the interim rabbi is Rabbi Yitzchak Mizrahi.

Cleveland University-Kansas City is known primarily for its chiropractic doctorate program (D.C.) but it also offers associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees. The university has been in operation in the Kansas City area since 1922 and has occupied its current 34-acre Overland Park, Kansas, location since 2008.

The Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead is a family attraction in Overland Park, Kansas. The facility shows farm animals, birds of prey, show gardens, butterfly gardens, a nature trail, a Kanza Native American display, and a full-scale one-room schoolhouse. The facility also provides playgrounds, a fishing pond, horse-drawn wagon rides, and pony rides.The facility began as a petting zoo in 1978 and was renamed in 1985 to honor Deanna Rose, an Overland Park police officer. Rose was the first Overland Park police officer killed in the line of duty.In 2014, the site began hosting an elaborate Christmas light display around the Christmas Holiday Season.
