Willow Metropark

Huron Charter Township is a charter township of Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 15,879 at the 2010 census. Huron Charter Township is named after the Huron River, which flows southeast through the township. The township is home to three divisions of the Huron–Clinton Metroparks system: Lower Huron, Oakwoods, and Willow.

Sherzer Observatory is an astronomical observatory located on the campus of Eastern Michigan University. The observatory was established in 1903 with the construction of the new Natural Science Building, in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Following a devastating fire in 1989 a new observatory opened in September 1991 with a 10-inch (250 mm) apochromatic refractor telescope and German equatorial mount centered under a 6-meter dome.

Huron High School in New Boston, Michigan is a public high school offering education for grades 9 to 12. It is part of the Huron School District.

Willow is an unincorporated community in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The community is located within Huron Charter Township. As an unincorporated community, Willow has no legally defined boundaries or population statistics of its own.

The Waltz Road–Huron River Bridge is an automobile bridge located on Waltz Road spanning the Huron River in Huron Township, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

New Boston is an unincorporated community in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The community is located within Huron Charter Township. As an unincorporated community, New Boston has no legally defined boundaries or population statistics of its own. New Boston is located close to three divisions of the Huron–Clinton Metroparks system: Lower Huron, Oakwoods, and Willow. The Huron River runs through New Boston. The community has its own post office with the 48164 ZIP Code, which also serves the communities of Waltz and Willow, as well as smaller portions of Sumpter Township to the west and Brownstown Charter Township to the east. The community is served by Huron School District.

Pinnacle Race Course was a thoroughbred horse racing track in Huron Township, Michigan, southwest of Detroit off of Interstate 275. The track was just south of the Detroit Metro Airport, in Wayne County. The track was built on land owned by Wayne County, and the county lost $36 million when it failed. In 2021, it was announced that an Amazon fulfillment center will be constructed on the site of the former track.

Waltz is an unincorporated community in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is located within Huron Charter Township approximately 25 miles (40 km) southwest of Detroit. As an unincorporated community, Waltz has no defined boundaries or population statistics of its own. The community was first settled in 1857 when Joseph Waltz, Sr., moved his family from Detroit to a 160-acre (65 ha) plot of farmland. The original farm was located along Territorial Road (now Waltz Road) just north of the Wayne–Monroe county line. When the elder Waltz died in 1865, the property was left to his widow Mary, who later deeded it to Joseph Waltz, Jr., in 1867. In 1872, the area of Waltz was platted. The community later expanded through several additions. Joseph Waltz, Jr., operated a general store on Territorial Road which later became Krzyske Brothers Hardware which remains in operation today. Waltz also opened a German bier garten and hall on Mineral Springs Avenue and Territorial Road, this business remains in operation today as the Waltz Inn. Joseph Waltz, Jr. held many political positions including Huron Township Clerk and Supervisor, Superintendent of the poor for Wayne County and also State Representative. As Superintendent of the Poor, he was instrumental in establishing the Wayne County Hospital at Eloise and as State Representative, he was largely responsible in purchasing Detroit's Belle Isle Park.The community is located along the Flint and Pere Marquette Railroad where it had its own depot and was a primary producer of charcoal and bricks. Other businesses in Waltz's early history included the Waltz Hotel, Waltz Cheese and Molasses Company, and the Harbaurer Pickle Company.Although early in its existence, Waltz supported two churches, the primary center of spiritual and religious learning has been St. John's Lutheran Church which was founded in the community in 1857.The community continues to exist today located off Michigan's Interstate 275 at exit 8. The community is served by the Huron School District. Postal service from the Waltz Post Office ceased in 1954 when a new post office was opened in New Boston using the 48164 ZIP Code. The community of Willow is just to the north.

Oakwoods Metropark is a park in the Huron-Clinton Metroparks system, located along the Huron River near Flat Rock, Michigan. The park consists several miles of bike trails, numerous nature trails, horse trails, a canoe and kayak launch, and a Nature Center. It is directly connected to Willow and Lower Huron Metroparks, as well as Huroc Park through a branch of the Downriver Linked Greenways.

St. John's is a congregation of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod located in New Boston, Michigan. The church also operates an elementary school for children from preschool through eighth grade.

WNZK (680 kHz and 690 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Dearborn Heights, Michigan, and serving the Detroit metropolitan area. It is owned by the Birach Broadcasting Corporation and airs an ethnic radio format. The programming is brokered, where hosts pay for their time and may advertise their clients' goods and services during their shows. It broadcasts in a variety of languages, including Arabic and several from Eastern Europe. WNZK identifies itself as "Station of the Nations." WNZK is unusual in that it broadcasts on two different frequencies. During the daytime, it is heard on 690 kHz. But because that is a Canadian and Mexican clear channel frequency, WNZK must switch to 680 kHz at sunset. Although 680 AM is also a clear channel frequency, the Class A stations that operate on it are in San Francisco and Alaska. Therefore, WNZK can operate on this frequency at night with its regular power of 2,500 watts, without interfering with those stations. It uses a directional antenna with a six-tower array off Will Carleton Road in Huron Charter Township, Michigan.
