West Northfield is a community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, located in the Lunenburg Municipal District in Lunenburg County. It lies in a drumlinized area along the LaHave River. The loam-textured podzolic soils tend to be strongly acidic and stony. Favorable drainage and moisture-holding capacity make them suitable for agriculture and forestry. A Christmas tree industry has developed around the community in recent years.

Park View Education Centre has been an International Baccalaureate World School since June 1980, optionally offering the IB Diploma Programme. IB courses available at the school include Visual Arts SL, Biology SL, Chemistry HL, Economics SL, English A1 HL, French B HL, French B SL, History HL, History SL, Mathematics SL, Music SL, Physics HL, Physics SL and Theory of Knowledge. Park View Education Centre also offers the Options and Opportunities (O2) Program, this program helps students get ready to jump into the workforce and also helps students get into Nova Scotia Community College and helps them get prepared for everyday work duties.

The Bridgewater Memorial Arena was a 1,200-seat multi-purpose arena in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. It was home to the Bridgewater Lumberjacks ice hockey team of the Maritime Junior Hockey League. The arena opened in 1949. In 2015, the town council voted to close the arena due to financial issues.

The DesBrisay Museum is a museum showcasing the history of the town of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia and the surrounding area, including its inhabitants and architecture, whose collection is due to the efforts of Judge Mather Byles DesBrisay. Upon his death, DesBrisay left his collection to the town and in 1967, the museum was established.The museum is funded, in part, by the Province of Nova Scotia as well as by the town of Bridgewater and a number of different fundraising initiatives. In 2017, a Nova Scotia Community Museum Assistance Program evaluation declared the DesBrisay the top community museum in the province, out of a roster of 67.
