HM Prison Kennet was a Category C men's prison, located in Parkbourn, Maghull, in the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton in Merseyside, England. The prison was operated by Her Majesty's Prison Service. The prison closed on 23 December 2016

During the 2013/14 period, it was the tenth busiest station on the Merseyrail network and the busiest station to not provide an interchange between any other services. As of 2021/22, it is now the twelfth busiest station on the Merseyrail network and the third busiest station to not provide an interchange between other services.

Simonswood Supply Depot was one of the main ammunition depots in Lancashire, England during World War II. Located at Simonswood, it was used as an ammunition depot delivered by ROF Kirkby. The remains of the ammunition bunkers still exist today.
