Flaxmere (Māori: Paharakeke) is a township in the Hastings District and outlying suburb of Hastings City, in the Hawke's Bay Region of New Zealand's North Island. It consists of a series of cul-de-sacs, radiating from a main street.

It is located on State Highway 50, north-west of Hastings on the north bank of the Ngaruroro River.The New Zealand Ministry for Culture and Heritage gives a translation of "the place where Mahu ran out of food" for Ōmahu.A missionary site was established at Omahu in the early 19th century.Omahu was inundated by flooding during Cyclone Gabrielle in 2023 after the Ngaruroro River burst its banks, destroying dozens of houses.

Waiohiki is a rural community in the Hastings District and Hawke's Bay Region of New Zealand's North Island. It is located between the Ngaruroro and Tutaekuri Rivers, south of Taradale and north of Hastings on State Highway 50. Napier Golf Club is located at Waiohiki. Waiohiki was inundated by flooding during Cyclone Gabrielle in 2023 after the Ngaruroro River burst its banks. Dozen of houses were destroyed. One person died after being swept away by floodwater at Waiohiki.

Lindisfarne College is a state-integrated Presbyterian boys' day and boarding intermediate and high school in Hastings, New Zealand. The school is named after the Holy Isle of Lindisfarne, site of the medieval Celtic monastery and castle on the northeastern coast of England. The college was established on 14 April 1953, by the Herrick family. The founding roll of 33 students now comprises around 500 students. Roughly half the school students are full or weekly boarders. Its sister school, Iona College for girls, is situated in nearby Havelock North. Since 2000, the college has invested significantly in major renovation and new construction projects. Older buildings such as the homestead, dining hall, chapel, gymnasium, and music department have been modernised, and new facilities include the Lowe Family Performing Arts Centre. The current rector is Mr. Stuart Hakeney. The college's overarching philosophy is based on 'four cornerstones of learning' — academic excellence, cultural participation, sporting endeavour, and the Christian dimension. It focuses heavily on producing alumni with 'admirable' content of character, through its 'Good Man' programme.

Hastings Girls' High School is a girls' high school in Hastings, New Zealand for students in Years 9 to 13. The school is the main all-female secondary school within Hastings City. It was originally a co-ed school, joined with Hastings Boys' High School, until the mid 1950s, when they split into two single sex schools. Hastings Girls' High School has four houses; gold, purple, blue and green. They share an emblem with Hastings Boys' High School; the huia bird.

St Leonards is an inner suburb of Hastings, New Zealand, in the Hawke's Bay region of New Zealand. It is named for St Leonards-on-Sea, a neighbouring town to Hastings' own English namesake. The suburb is located immediately north and northwest of the city centre, with the city's main road, Heretaunga Street, passing through its centre. St Leonard's Park is a sports field used for touch rugby in summer and football in winter.

Hastings Aerodrome (ICAO: NZHS) is a small airport located in Hastings, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. It is sometimes referred to as Bridge Pa Aerodrome. It is owned and operated by the Hawke's Bay & East Coast Aero Club Inc.The airport is situated on the Heretaunga Plains and there are two eighteen hole golf courses adjacent to it. The settlement of Bridge Pa is located close by. The aerodrome is located eight kilometres west of the Hastings central business district. Scheduled airline services in and out of Hawke's Bay are generally handled at the larger nearby Hawke's Bay Airport located in Napier.

Raureka is a suburb of Hastings City, in the Hawke's Bay Region of New Zealand's North Island. The suburb has three council-owned parks: Ebbett Park, St Leonards Park and Whenua Takoha Reserve. Raureka locals established a campaign in 2018 to stop the council selling part of Ebbett Park to developers.Raureka has a community hub with community gardens based at Raureka School.
