The Kronplatz (Ladin and Italian: Plan de Corones) is a mountain of the Dolomites in South Tyrol, northern Italy, with a summit elevation of 2,275 metres (7,464 ft) above sea level. Kronplatz is not only the name of the mountain but of the whole holiday region. The holiday region of Kronplatz comprises the Puster Valley and some side valleys such as Ahrntal/Valle Aurina, Gsieser Tal/Val Casies, Antholzertal/Valle di Anterselva and part of Gadertal/Val Badia. The Furkelpass is a mountain pass in South Tyrol, Italy. The Furkelpass also Furkelsattel or simply the Furkel called (Ladin Ju de Furcia, Italian Passo Furcia), is a 1789 m high mountain pass in the Dolomites. The pass lies between the 2275 m high Kronplatz in the north and the 2507 m high Piz da Peres in the south and links the towns of Olang in the Puster Valley and San Vigilio in Mareo. The pass marks the linguistic border between the German and Ladin speaking areas of northern Italy. The climb is 19 km long and rises 744 meters, with a maximum gradient of 15%. The road has repeatedly attracted the Giro d'Italia (in 1981, 1994, 1997, 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2010), and the "Transalp" (crossing of the Alps by bicycle).The pass is open in winter. As it crosses the Plan de Corones skiing resort, skiers are routed via a bridge over the pass road. From the pass, there is a direct connection to the Kronplatz and to San Vigilio. Since 2003 there has been an artificial lake on the pass, which is required for artificial snow.

San Martin de Tor (Italian: San Martino in Badia [sam marˈtiːno im baˈdiːa]; German: St. Martin in Thurn [saŋkt ˈmartɪn ɪn ˈtʊrn]) is a comune (municipality) and a village in South Tyrol in northern Italy, located about 45 kilometres (28 mi) northeast of the city of Bolzano.

The Val Badia (English: Badia Valley, Ladin: Val Badia; Italian: Val Badia; German: Gadertal) is the valley of the Gran Ega river in South Tyrol, Italy. It stretches from the Sella massif northwards to the Puster Valley. The villages in the Val Badia, whose population are predominantly Ladin-speaking, belong to the following municipalities: Badia, Corvara, La Val, Mareo and San Martin de Tor. The upper part of the valley, starting from the village San Linêrt and including Badia, Corvara and La Val, is called in German Abteital. The same area is under the name Alta Badia a renowned ski resort.
