St. James's Church (German: St. Jakob in Kastelaz) is a church on the Kastelaz hill in Tramin an der Weinstraße, South Tyrol (Italy), which is known foremost for its Romanesque frescos. The church is sometimes mistakenly called St. Jacob's. The confusion arises because German, like many other languages, uses the same word for both James and Jacob.

Tramin an der Weinstraße (German pronunciation: [traˈmiːn an deːɐ̯ ˈvaɪnˌʃtraːsə]; Italian: Termeno sulla Strada del Vino [terˈmɛːno sulla ˈstraːda del ˈviːno]), often abbreviated to Tramin or Termeno, is a comune (municipality) in South Tyrol, northern Italy, located about 20 kilometres (12 miles) southwest of the city of Bolzano. The name of the grape variety Gewürztraminer has its origins in Tramin.

The Mendel Pass (German: Mendelpass or Mendel, Italian: Passo della Mendola, Passo Mendola or Mendola [ˈmendola]) is a 1,362 metre-high mountain pass between the provinces of Trentino and South Tyrol in Italy. The pass is accessed by the pass road, which begins in the town of Fondo in the Non Valley and ends southwest of the city of Bolzano, and the Mendel Funicular, which connects the Überetsch plateau with the pass. The pass road, SS 42, has a maximum grade of 12%, but is relatively straight. It is open year-round, but trailers are prohibited. The pass road was built between 1880 and 1885, and the first hotel at the pass was built in 1890. In 1900, a tram was built from the town of Kaltern. The instability of the cliffs overhanging the road is a cause of concern, and work was undertaken in 2005 to stabilize them. The pass is under constant observation, particularly in the spring, when thawing and refreezing causes danger of slides.

The Mendel Funicular, (German: Mendelbahn, Italian: Funicolare della Mendola [funikoˈlaːre della ˈmendola]) is a funicular railway in Italy. It connects the Überetsch plateau with the Mendel Pass.

Amblar-Don is a comune of the Val di Non in the Trentino, northern Italy. It came into existence on 1 January 2016 through the merger of the formerly separate comuni of Amblar and Don.

Kaltern Friary is a Franciscan friary in Kaltern (sometimes called Kaltern an der Weinstraße), South Tyrol, Italy. It is located in the centre of the little town and dates back to the 17th century.
