North Waltham

The A33 is a major road in the counties of Berkshire and Hampshire in southern England. The road currently runs in three disjoint sections.

Popham is a hamlet and civil parish south of Basingstoke, Hampshire, England. According to the Post Office the population of the 2011 Census was included in the civil parish of Dummer. The area was occupied from pre-historic times and was established as a permanent habitation during the Roman occupation of Britain. The manor of Popham was established by the monastery of Winchester as an outlying agricultural grain station. A small church and school were later established, but have long since disappeared. The parish and hamlet were later dissected by the M3 Motorway and A303 trunk road. Although named for Popham, Popham Airfield and the Popham Little Chef restaurant are situated in the neighbouring parish of Steventon.

Steventon is a village and a civil parish with a population of about 250 in north Hampshire, England. Situated 7 miles south-west of the town of Basingstoke, between the villages of Overton, Oakley and North Waltham, it is close to Junction 7 of the M3 motorway. Steventon is the birthplace of Jane Austen.

Woodmancott is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Micheldever, in the Winchester district of Hampshire, England. Its nearest town is Winchester, which lies approximately 9.3 miles (15.0 km) south-west from the hamlet, just of the M3. The village is notable for Blissfields Festival, hosted each summer at Vicarage Farm since 2011. In 1961 the parish had a population of 31. On 1 April 1985 the parish was abolished and merged with Micheldever and Candovers.

Dummer is a parish and village in Hampshire, England. It is 6 miles south-west of Basingstoke and half a mile south of Junction 7 on the M3 motorway. In the 2001 census, it had a population of 643, with 127 dwellings, reducing to a population of 466 in 201 households at the 2011 Census.

Oakley Hall is a Georgian manor in Oakley, Hampshire, located 10 km (6.2 mi) to the west of Basingstoke. Completed in 1795 by Wither Bramston, the building is now a hotel and conference centre . It is located in a wooded park intersected by the former South Western railway.

Oakley is a village in the borough of Basingstoke and Deane in Hampshire, England, located around 4.5 miles (7 km) west of Basingstoke. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 5,322. Together with the smaller village of Deane, it forms the Oakley and Deane civil parish renamed as Oakley at the 2011 Census. Oakley appears in the Domesday Book of 1086. Popham Airfield (ICAO: EGHP) is an unlicensed airfield located 6 NM (11 km; 6.9 mi) south west of Basingstoke in Hampshire, UK. It lies alongside the A303 road. The airfield has two grass runways, designated 08/26 and 03/21. Light aircraft maintenance facilities, aircraft hire and flight training on microlight, light aircraft and gyroplanes is available. Popham Airfield runs many different events over the year, including the Microlight trade fair in May, the annual Motorcycle Mega Meet & Vintage Aircraft Fly-in in August and the New Year's Day Fly-in. Popham Airfield's radio frequency is 129.805 MHz (8.33 kHz spacing) air-to-ground only with an additional operations frequency of 131.405 MHz (8.33 kHz spacing) for the resident flight school. Radio operating hours are from 08:30 until 17:00 (winter 16:30 or sunset if earlier).The airfield is home to AirBourne Aviation, a flight training schoolMicrolight flight simulation training takes place at the airfield using a Comco Ikarus C42 flight simulator operated by AirBourne Aviation.On 7 April 2007, Neville Duke, an RAF fighter ace in the Second World War and a well-known test pilot, made an emergency landing here in a light aircraft when he felt unwell. He collapsed after landing and died later that evening.
