Northland Village Mall

Sir Winston Churchill High School is a senior high school in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It derives its name from Sir Winston Churchill, two-term prime minister of the United Kingdom. The high school is built in the Northwest community of Brentwood. The school offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme, various second languages, and numerous clubs and teams.

Varsity is an established neighbourhood in the Northwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It was developed in the 1960s and early 1970s on a plateau to the north of the Bow River valley, and is primarily composed of Single-detached dwellings on wide lots. The neighbourhood comprises three major areas: Varsity Acres, Varsity Village, and Varsity Estates. Varsity is bounded on the north and east by Crowchild Trail, on the west by the Bow River, and on the south by 32nd Avenue NW. It borders the neighbourhoods of Silver Springs and Bowness on the west side, and both Montgomery and the University of Calgary campus on the south side. The easternmost portion of Varsity contains the University of Calgary Research Park.

Brentwood is a neighbourhood in the northwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded by John Laurie Boulevard to the north, Crowchild Trail to the south, Shaganappi Trail to the west, and Brisbois Drive & Charleswood Drive on the east. Nose Hill Park lies to the north of John Laurie Boulevard and is not part of Brentwood. Brentwood was established in 1960. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 4 councillor.Brentwood station is in Brentwood and about seven bus lines run through the neighborhood.The Northland Village Mall is located in the western extremity of the neighbourhood. Brentwood was scene to the 2014 Calgary stabbings.

Calgary-Varsity is a provincial electoral district in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The district was created in 1993 and returns a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. It comprises the communities of Varsity, Dalhousie, Brentwood, Banff Trail, University Heights, Parkdale, Point Mckay, and Charleswood (part of the Triwood community which also includes Collingwood west of 19th St NW.

It was formed in 1992 when Mountain View Bible College (Didsbury, Alberta) merged with Hillcrest Christian College (Medicine Hat, Alberta) and was sponsored by the Canada West District of the Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada. Dalhousie is a neighbourhood in the northwest area of Calgary. It is bounded to the north by John Laurie Boulevard, to the east by Shaganappi Trail, to the south by Crowchild Trail and to the west by Sarcee Trail. Dalhousie was established in 1967 and was named for George Ramsay, 9th Earl of Dalhousie. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 7 councillor.The community is served by the Dalhousie station of the C-Train LRT system.

CF Market Mall is one of the largest malls (by area) in Calgary, Alberta, Canada (900,490 square feet/83,658.3 m²). It is located in Varsity, a suburban neighbourhood in the city's northwest quadrant on Shaganappi Trail. The mall is jointly owned (50/50) by Cadillac Fairview and Ivanhoé Cambridge, two of Canada's largest real estate property managers and developers, but managed by the former.

On April 15, 2014, Matthew de Grood, son of Calgary Police Inspector Doug de Grood, stabbed five young adults to death at a house party in the Brentwood neighbourhood of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The party was several blocks away from the University of Calgary campus, and held to mark the end of its school year. It was Calgary's deadliest massacre.

University District is a neighbourhood in Calgary, Alberta. In 1995, the province transferred these lands, previously called the West Campus lands, to the University of Calgary. The Jack Simpson Gymnasium is a multipurpose facility on the University of Calgary campus. It opened in 1987 to help host the 1988 XV Olympic Winter Games. It has three full gymnasiums, three basketball courts, five volleyball courts, and an indoor football/soccer field. The "Jack" is home to the Dinos volleyball and basketball teams. With a max seating capacity of 3454, it has hosted several CIS Championships, the annual Husky Dino Cup volleyball tournament, World League volleyball matches, and is the site for the University of Calgary's annual convocation ceremonies."The facility is named after Jackson L. Simpson (1920-1984), the founder and former president of CANA Construction Company.
