Over United Reformed Church

Over is an ancient borough, mentioned in the Domesday Book, now a part of Winsford in Cheshire West in Cheshire, England. Wharton forms the eastern part, the boundary being the River Weaver. It is said to have retained its borough status and to be the smallest borough in England.

The Winsford Academy (simply referred to as Winsford Academy and formerly The Winsford E-ACT Academy) is an 11–16 mixed secondary school with academy status in Winsford, Cheshire, England. It was established in September 2010 following the amalgamation of the two predecessor schools; Verdin High School and Woodford Lodge High School. It is located on the campus of the former Verdin High School on Grange Lane that was established in 1970 and was initially one component of a two-campus school, with history spanning from its original founding as Verdin Technical School in 1895.In September 2013, the academy moved into a new, £20 million purpose-built school which includes 60 classrooms with flexible learning spaces; a 400-seat theatre in the Performing Arts Centre; Learning Resource Centre; sports facilities; science labs; drama and dance studios; music rehearsal rooms; media suites; art studios; technology workshops; and a Sixth Form Centre (formally). In addition to this, the academy has spent £1.7 million on ICT.

The Boer War Memorial stands in the shopping precinct of Winsford, Cheshire, England. It consists of the statue of a soldier in uniform standing on a plinth, and it was unveiled in 1906. It originally stood on a different site in the town and was moved to its present position in the 1960s. In addition to recording the names of those who were lost in the conflict, it also contains the names of those who survived.

Winsford is a town and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England, on the River Weaver south of Northwich and west of Middlewich. It grew around the salt mining industry after the river was canalised in the 18th century, allowing freight to be conveyed northwards to the Port of Runcorn on the River Mersey. The town of Winsford has an estimated population of 35,000 in 2023. Winsford is split into three areas: Over on the western side of the River Weaver, Wharton on the eastern side, and Swanlow and Dene.

Winsford Urban District was an urban district in Cheshire, England, based in the town of Winsford. It was created in 1894 and abolished in 1974 when it was absorbed into the Vale Royal district, itself abolished in 2009.

The station was the terminus of the Over and Wharton branch line, a short branch off the West Coast Main Line operated by the London and North Western Railway and later the London Midland and Scottish Railway and British Railways.

Winsford Mine (also known as Meadow Bank Mine) is a halite (rock salt) mine in the town of Winsford, Cheshire, England. The mine produces an average of 1,500,000 tonnes (1,700,000 tons) of rock salt a year, which is used to grit public roads in the United Kingdom during the winter months. Two other mines also produce rock salt within the United Kingdom, but Winsford has the biggest output of all three and has the largest market share. It is also Britain's oldest working mine.

Whitegate and Marton is a civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire. The parish has one main settlement of Whitegate and Marton (Winsford), together with the hamlets of Foxwist Green, Marton Green and Nova Scotia. In 2001 the population of the civil parish was 971, increasing to 1,172 at the 2011 Census.
