Telephone area codes 602, 480, and 623 in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) cover most of the Phoenix metropolitan area in the U.S. state of Arizona, including the city of Phoenix and the vast majority of its suburbs. Area code 602 is the oldest of the three and was assigned in 1947 as the only area code for the entire state of Arizona. Under pressure from a population boom and new telecommunications services, it was split twice in five years in the 1990s. The first split in 1995 cleaved off numbers outside of metropolitan Phoenix to form area code 520 (since split itself to form 928); the second split, in 1999, carved out area codes 623 in the West Valley and 480 in the East Valley, with most of the city of Phoenix itself remaining in 602. The 1999 split had originally been proposed and approved as an overlay of a second area code, but the Arizona Corporation Commission nearly immediately reconsidered, leading to the adopted split. Metro Phoenix was consolidated into one rate center, so calls between the three area codes were generally local calls. By the early 2020s, 480 and 602 were facing exhaustion within the decade, but 623 continued to have hundreds of unassigned central office codes. As a result, in 2021, the Corporation Commission approved a plan to convert the 1999 split into a three-code overlay complex beginning in 2023 instead of assigning two new overlay codes in the 480 and 602 areas within three years. This resulted in a transition to mandatory ten-digit dialing in the previous 602 and 623 areas; it was already required in 480.

Phoenix Christian Preparatory School is a private, non-denominational Christian school located in Central Phoenix. It was the first Christian high school in the state of Arizona when it was founded.

The Phoenix Show Palace (formerly the Phoenix Coliseum) was an indoor ice skating rink and multipurpose venue for trade shows, concerts and sporting events in Phoenix, Arizona, US.The inaugural event at the Phoenix Coliseum was a Bob Hope Concert on September 28, 1956. Several other concerts, trade shows and sporting events were held at the Phoenix Coliseum before it ran into financial problems, the final concert to be held before bankruptcy was the June 2, 1957 concert by Frank Sinatra. Plagued by several problems the coliseum never reached its intended potential; poor acoustics, difficult street access and finally a lack of air conditioning condemned the facility to failure. By June 25, 1957 the Phoenix Coliseum filed for bankruptcy. For a period of time after declaring bankruptcy, concerts and other events continued to be held at the Phoenix Coliseum. By 1961 the Phoenix Coliseum had been converted to discount retail space.In September 1974, the site of the former Phoenix Coliseum had reverted from retail space to a concert, sporting and event hall venue and was renamed "Phoenix Show Palace" and was also known as "The Show Palace". The Phoenix Show Palace lasted 6 months and was not used as a concert or event hall after March 1975. The stated capacity of The Show Palace was 8,800. Live rock concerts, closed-circuit TV and live boxing matches along with open to the public free lectures and a trade show were held at this venue, as they were when the venue was The Phoenix Coliseum. The final advertisement for the Phoenix Show Palace was for a March 31, 1975 boxing match.Blue Oyster Cult recorded part of their live album "On Your Feet or On Your Knees" at the Phoenix Show Palace 14 October 1974 in a triple bill of Golden Earring, T. Rex and Blue Oyster Cult. Album credits state that "Show Palace" Phoenix, AZ was one of seven venues used to record the live album. The address for this venue was 3839 West Indian School Road at 38th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ.Today, the site of the former Phoenix Coliseum/Phoenix Show Palace has reverted to retail space.

West Phoenix High School is a public charter high school in Phoenix, Arizona. It is operated by The Leona Group and was one of its first Arizona schools to open. For athletics, it is a member of the Canyon Athletic Association (CAA).

The Arizona State Fairgrounds is a permanent fairgrounds on McDowell Road, Encanto Village, within the city of Phoenix, Arizona, United States. It is currently used yearly to host the Arizona State Fair and the Maricopa County Fair, as well as for other events. The Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum, an arena at the fairgrounds, hosted the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association from 1968 to 1992. In 1992, the team moved to what is known today as Footprint Center. The dirt oval track hosted AAA National Championship and USAC National Championship races in 1915 and from 1950 to 1963, and NASCAR Grand National races in 1951, 1955, 1956 and 1960. It was replaced by the Phoenix Raceway in 1964.

The Yolo County Fair is held in Woodland, California in the middle of August each year, running Wednesday afternoon through Sunday evening. Started in 1935 (current site in 1940), it is the largest free admission fair in the state of California. Since there was no fair in 2020 caused by COVID-19 pandemic, the 82nd was deferred to 2021, which went virtual. World War II was the cause of the fair's cancellation between 1942 and 1945.

The Arizona State Fair is an annual state fair, held at Arizona State Fairgrounds. It was first held in 1884, but has had various interruptions due to cotton crop failure, the Great Depression era, World War I & World War II years & the COVID-19 pandemic. From 1946 to 2019 and since 2021, the fair has been held annually. It was a territory fair before Arizona was a state. The Arizona Exposition and State Fair (official name) is a self-supporting state agency, and receives no money from the state's General Fund. The fairgrounds serve as a host facility for a number of different tradeshows, events, and entertainment. The fairgrounds is the location for the Maricopa County Fair, the Arizona National Livestock Show, the Maricopa Home and Garden Show, and more. The Fair typically has around 75 amusement rides, 110 food booths, and 300 commercial sales booths. The Arizona State Fair is one of the top 5 state fairs by yearly attendance in the country, drawing over a million visitors annually. Fair patrollers include security guards, the Phoenix Police and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
