East Branch Reservoir, is a reservoir in the town of Southeast, New York, near the village of Brewster. Part of the New York City water supply system, it was formed by impounding the East Branch of the Croton River. Forming part of the Croton Watershed, it was placed into service in 1891, and lies some 35 miles (56 km) north of the city, in the southeast corner of Putnam County.

Peach Lake is a hamlet (and census-designated place) located mostly in the town of Southeast in Putnam County, New York, United States; a portion of the CDP is in the town of North Salem in Westchester County. As of the 2010 census, the population was 1,629.The community of Peach Lake is located on the northeastern side of a lake with the same name. The lake itself is in two counties. The community is south of Interstate 84.

Sodom is a hamlet in Putnam County, in the U.S. state of New York.According to one account, the hamlet was so named on account of the rowdy character of its first inhabitants. A variant name was "Southeast Center", also spelled "South East Centre".

Southeast is a town in Putnam County, New York, United States, so named for its location in the southeastern corner of the county. The population was 18,058 at the 2020 census. The town as a whole is informally referred to as Brewster, the town's principal settlement; the latter is also an incorporated village within the town's borders. Interstate 84, Interstate 684, U.S. Route 202, US Route 6, and NY 22 are the primary routes through the town.

Milltown is a hamlet in the town of Southeast located in Putnam County, New York, United States. It is in the easternmost part of town, bordering the city of Danbury, Connecticut.

The Bog Brook Reservoir is a 379-acre (153 ha) reservoir in the Croton Watershed in southern New York State, part of the New York City water supply system. It is located in the town of Southeast in Putnam County, approximately 38 miles (61 km) north of New York City. It was formed by the damming of Bog Brook, a small tributary of the East Branch of the Croton River. The reservoir was put into service in 1892, making it one of the older in the system. The reservoir has a drainage basin of four square miles (10 km2), and holds 4.4 billion US gallons (17,000,000 m3) of water at full capacity. Its main function is to serve as a storage reservoir for the 5.2 billion US gallons (20,000,000 m3) East Branch Reservoir, to which it is connected by a tunnel. The Bog Brook Reservoir is one of 12 reservoirs in the Croton Watershed. From the East Branch Reservoir, the water flows into the continuation of the East Branch of the Croton River, then into The Diverting Reservoir, then via the Croton River to the Muscoot Reservoir and the New Croton Reservoir, into the New Croton Aqueduct, and finally to the Jerome Park Reservoir in the Bronx for distribution to New York City.

The Walter Brewster House is located on Oak Street in Brewster, New York, United States. It was built in the Greek Revival style around 1850 by Brewster, who founded the village that today bears his name. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Currently it is owned and operated by the Landmarks Preservation Society of Southeast as an event venue and cultural center.

Morefar Back O'Beyond is a secretive, little-used private golf course located on 500 acres (2.0 km2) in both Danbury, Connecticut and Southeast, New York. The course can be seen from portions of the Richter Park public course and has garnered local rumor as to its origin and ownership.Course officials do not cooperate with the press seeking information about the facility. It appears the course was established in 1964 (some sources say 1962) by Cornelius Vander Starr who had founded the company later known as AIG over forty years before. His ashes are interred on the fifteenth tee. In 2006, it was owned by Starr International, a Bermuda-based company long associated with AIG and the Starr family. It is currently controlled by Maurice Greenberg, former AIG Chief Executive Officer. Starr International also does not discuss the facility. In 2010. press reports stated the course was owned by the private Back O' Beyond Inc., based in Brewster.It appears memberships are not available to the public and the course may only be used by employees of Starr International. Some companies associated with AIG and the financial sector were able to host functions at the club in the mid-2000s. Sculptures dot the course. The course, a par 69, measures 6748 yards. Edward C. Ryder (d. 1986) and also known for nearby Richter Park Golf Course and Val Carlson are credited as its designers.The course includes a restaurant and full bar. Brewster is a village and the principal settlement within the town of Southeast in Putnam County, New York. Brewster’s population was 2,508 at the time of the 2020 census. The village, which is the most densely populated portion of the county, was named for two early farmer landowners, Walter and James Brewster, who donated land for the Brewster railroad station in 1848.

The Old Southeast Town Hall is located on Main Street (US 6) in Brewster, New York, United States. Built in 1896, it served as the main office of the Town of Southeast, which surrounds and includes Brewster. In 1964, the town's clerk and supervisor moved to the recently closed First National Bank of Brewster's building down the street (since then, they have moved to new offices on NY 22 north of the village). Some town offices are still in the building, which also today houses the Southeast Museum. In 1979, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in recognition of its early yet mature Colonial Revival architecture.

Ridgebury is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Ridgefield, Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. It occupies the north end of the town of Ridgefield and is bordered to the north and northeast by the city of Danbury and to the west by Putnam and Westchester counties in New York. The name is a portmanteau of Ridgefield and Danbury. All political power in Ridgebury is currently held by the government of Ridgefield. Ridgebury was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census. Early in its history, Ridgebury tried to secede from Ridgefield, however, this effort failed. Today, many Ridgeburians feel that the government of Ridgefield neglects to address much needed infrastructure repairs in Ridgebury, and thus there is a growing animosity between Ridgebury and Ridgefield. Some Ridgeburians have gone so far as to support the creation of an independent Town of Ridgebury with complete political separation from Ridgefield. Compared to the rest of Ridgefield, the infrastructure of Ridgebury is worse off due to neglect from the town government. Frequent potholes on Ridgeburian roads, particularly on Ridgebury road, has been a pressing issue in the village of Ridgebury. For many Ridgeburians, the lack of road repairs is the main source of frustration between them and the Ridgefield government. In October of 2021, posters advocating for Ridgeburian independence were placed around the Ridgebury area.
