The Betty Griffin Center is a nonprofit agency in St. Johns County, Florida that supports survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. The current CEO is Kelly Franklin, who was appointed to the position on October 1, 2001 to replace retiring Joyce Mahr, who had been with the organization for 25 years and served as CEO for 13 years. Staff and advocates work from its outreach center, located in St. Augustine, Florida. The nonprofit agency's 2019 Audited Financial Statement indicates its total annual budget is $5.9 million. A board of directors oversees the CEO. For the 2023-24 Fiscal Year, the 13-member board of directors was chaired by Jayne Evans, the CEO of Heart Touch Communications for Nonprofits. The name of the organization is linked to Elkton, Florida resident Betty Griffin. This was occurring at the same time St. Augustine Sherriff Neil Perry supported establishing a permanent shelter for victims of domestic violence in the city in the mid 1980s. Because of these origins, the organization was known as the Betty Griffin House from 1990 until 2016. With funding received through the Community Foundation of Northeast Florida in 2015, the organization rebranded as Betty Griffin Center in October 2016 to a brand that captured all the services provided "beyond providing shelter for those fleeing domestic or sexual abuse". The nonprofit agency is funded by individual donors, grants and fundraising events held throughout the year. The Betty Griffin Center 5K Run for Peace event has been held for nine consecutive years (held virtually during the COVID 19 pandemic in 2020). Other annual events include the Fashion for Action fundraiser, which celebrated its third consecutive year in 2023 , along with an annual art and poetry calendar contest involving submissions from St. Johns County Students, which has been conducted for more than 10 years. The nonprofit also generates operating funds through public donations of used items that are resold at two thrift shoppes -- the original located at Anastasia Square Shopping Center in St. Augustine and a second added at Julington Square, located in the western part of St. Johns County, Florida.

The Sanchez Powder House Site (also known as Powder House Lot) is a historic site in St. Augustine, Florida. It is located on Marine Street. On April 14, 1972, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Lincolnville Historic District (formerly known as Little Africa) is a neighborhood in St. Augustine, Florida established by freedmen following the American Civil War and located on the southwest peninsula of the "nation's oldest city." It was designated as an historic district in 1991 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Originally recorded with 548 contributing buildings, the district is bounded by Cedar, Riberia, Cerro and Washington streets and DeSoto Place. In the late 20th century, numerous African Americans moved from this district to newer housing in suburbs, following the postwar pattern of settlement. In the 1990s, the city of St. Augustine engaged in extensive demolitions in Lincolnville. The number of surviving historic buildings was markedly reduced. Since the turn of the 21st century, the city has sought more demolitions to enable redevelopment of the area.

Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center (formerly Excelsior Museum and Cultural Center) is an African American history museum located at 102 Martin Luther King Avenue in St. Augustine, Florida. It is located in the former Excelsior School, St. Augustine's first black public high school. The museum opened in 2005.

St. Augustine National Cemetery is a United States National Cemetery located in the city of St. Augustine in St. Johns County, Florida. Located on the grounds of the active military installation known as St. Francis Barracks, the state headquarters of the Florida National Guard, it encompasses 1.4 acres (0.57 ha), and as of the end of 2005 had 2,788 interments. Administered by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, it is currently closed to new interments. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.

St. Benedict the Moor School is a former Black Catholic primary school located in the Lincolnville Historic District of St. Augustine, Florida. The school is a contributing property of the Lincolnville Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places.

St. Joseph Academy Catholic High School is a private Catholic high school in unincorporated St. Johns County, Florida (with a St. Augustine postal address). It is located in and administered by the Roman Catholic Diocese of St. Augustine. The oldest Catholic high school in Florida, it was founded in 1866.

The King's Bakery is a coquina stone structure in St. Augustine, Florida, built during the British colonial period in the state (1763–1783). The building, located on Marine Street, with the rear facing Matanzas Bay, was constructed to supply bread to the British troops quartered across the street at the St. Francis Barracks, a building which formerly housed Franciscan friars, during the First Spanish Period (1565–1763). The monastery was used by the British as military barracks.The bakery, believed to be the only structure remaining in St. Augustine built entirely during the British period, has been used since then as a storeroom for flour, a military hospital, and offices. The old bakery building is part of the St. Francis Barracks military compound, which since 1907 has served as the headquarters of the Florida National Guard. In 1934 it was converted for use as a garage.

The Llambias House (also known as the Fernandez-Llambias House) is a historic house located at 31 Saint Francis Street in St. Augustine, Florida. Built sometime before 1763, it is one of the few houses in Florida to survive from the first period of Spanish Florida. It was designated a National Historic Landmark on April 15, 1970. The house is now managed by the St. Augustine Historical Society as an event venue.
