The Fonte River Dam is a historic dam on the Fonte River on the island of Guam. It is located in the upper third of the river's main valley, which is located between Nimitz Hill Annex and Agana Heights, and lies below and west of the Libugon scenic overlook on Nimitz Hill. The dam, built in 1910, was part of the first organized effort by the United States Navy to provide a reliable water supply to the island's major settlement, Hagåtña (formerly Agana). It is a concrete structure 150 feet (46 m) long, 24 feet (7.3 m) high, and has a 17 feet (5.2 m) base. It is almost complete obscured by jungle overgrowth. The dam was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

Nimitz Hill is a hill in Asan-Maina, Guam. It lies within the Nimitz Hill Annex CDP (census-designated place). The US Navy headquarters for Guam (Joint Region Marianas and Commander Naval Forces Marianas) lie near the crest of the hill. The hill is named after American admiral Chester W. Nimitz who was Commander in Chief of the Pacific Ocean Areas during World War II with his headquarters in Guam. The hill is capped with limestone belonging to the Alifan limestone formation (Miocene). The limestone is up to 150 feet thick with the base of the bed between 300 and 600 feet altitude. There is a limestone quarry on the hill. There are many caves on Nimitz Hill, some of them large, formed through fractures and sinkholes. On 6 August 1997 Korean Air Flight 801 crashed south of Nimitz Hill killing 228 people out of the 254 on board. The crash was blamed on pilot error exacerbated by the FAA switching off the MSAW within 54 nm of landing. While the crash was nearly on the top of the NIMITZ VOR navigation beacon, the NIMITZ VOR is located on Bijia Peak, separated from Nimitz Hill by the Fonte River valley. However, Nimitz Hill Annex was the closest community to the crash site.

Joint Region Marianas' mission is to provide installation management support to all Department of Defense components and tenants through assigned regional installations on Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands in support of training in the Marianas; to act as the interface between the Department of Defense and the civilian community; to ensure compliance with all environmental laws and regulations, safety procedures, and equal opportunity policy; and perform other functions and tasks as may be assigned.

Nimitz Hill Annex is a community and census-designated place (CDP) in Asan-Maina, Guam. It contains the geographic feature of Nimitz Hill, and is located immediately northeast of the Nimitz Hill CDP in Piti. In normal conversation, the Nimitz Hill CDP and Nimitz Hill Annex CDP are often collectively referred to as "Nimitz Hill."

Agana Heights (Chamorro: Tutuhan) is one of the nineteen villages in the United States territory of Guam. It is located in the hills south of Hagåtña (formerly Agana), in the central part of the island. United States Naval Hospital Guam is located in this largely residential village.

United States Naval Hospital Guam is a U.S. Navy medical facility on the U.S. territory of Guam. It provides a broad range of medical services to active-duty U.S. military personnel under Joint Region Marianas. Besides the main hospital, the hospital runs a medical clinic and a dental clinic on Naval Base Guam. Established in 1899 in the capitol of Hagåtña, it offered general care to the population up until Japanese invasion in 1941. Local CHamoru staff continued to offer medical care during the Japanese occupation until the hospital was destroyed in the U.S. liberation. The hospital was re-established in its current location in Agana Heights in 1954 and treated many casualties from the Vietnam War.

Sinajana (Chamorro: Sinahånña) is the smallest of the nineteen villages in the United States territory of Guam by area. It is located in the hills south of Hagåtña (formerly Agana). The village's name may have come from the word "china-jan," cookware used to cook wild yams that once grew in the area.

The Asan Ridge Battle Area was the scene of some of the heaviest fighting in the 1944 Battle of Guam, the World War II battle in which Allied forces recaptured Guam from occupying Japanese forces. The area is now part of the Asan Inland Unit of the War in the Pacific National Historical Park, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. The area is just inland of the Asan Invasion Beach, one of the two major beachheads established by the Allies, and has a commanding view over that area. The landforms included in this area are Chorrito Cliff, Bundschuh Ridge, and Nimitz Hill, and they were heavily fortified by the Japanese prior to the battle. Surviving elements of these fortifications include two concrete pillboxes (one unfinished), and an unfinished battery of 4-inch guns.

Guam High School (GHS or GMHS) is a U.S. military operated secondary school located at 401 Stitt Street in Agana Heights in the United States territory of Guam. The school, a part of the Department of Defense Education Activity, serves over 500 students grades 9 through 12. The school serves children of military personnel stationed in Guam. Staff includes forty-six teachers and two administrators. The principal is Katrina Watts. In September 1997 the DoDEA opened its own schools for children of military personnel. It is within the Naval Hospital census-designated place, defined by the U.S. Census Bureau.

The Won Pat Outdoor Oven is a 20th-century version of a traditional hotnu, or outside oven, on the island of Guam. It is located on a vacant lot off Mansanita Court in Sinajana. Although built out of modern materials, it follows a traditional form that has been in use on Guam since these ovens were introduced by the Spanish in the 17th century. It is a barrel-shaped structure about 1.6 metres (5.2 ft) long, 1.3 metres (4.3 ft) wide, rising to a height of 0.55 metres (1.8 ft). The base of the structure is built of rough limestone and mortar. The interior of the vault is made out of heat-resistant bricks, while the exterior is finished in concrete. When recorded in 2010, its main opening was damaged. The oven was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

The Guam Institute, located off in Guam Highway 1 in Hagåtña (formerly Agana or Agaña), Guam, was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1977; the listing included one contributing building. It was built in 1911. It has also been known as the Jose P. Lujan House. The house is significant as one of few houses in Agana surviving from before World War II. It was built by carpenter and cabinet-maker Jose Pangelinan Lujan, who rented the house and later lived in it, until moving out of the house in 1928. Lujan owned the house until 1969. The house was the location of the Guam Institute, "the only successful private school of the pre-war period" in Guam, from 1928 until the institute was closed in December, 1941, with the Japanese invasion.: 3  The house was damaged by Typhoon Pamela in 1976; photos in 1977 showed it in poor condition. However, supported by the NRHP listing, the owner obtained Federal matching grant funds to support rehabilitation of the building during 1980–1982. Work done used "design, materials (ifil wood), and workmanship to maintain the original character of the building." It is one of five pre-World War II houses that make up the NRHP-listed Agana Historic District.
