Lochgelly

Recreation Park was a football ground in Lochgelly, Scotland. It was the home ground of Lochgelly United from 1910 until the club folded in 1928.

Lochgelly railway station is a railway station in Lochgelly, Scotland. The station is managed by ScotRail and is on the Fife Circle Line, 25 miles (40 km) north of Edinburgh Waverley. Lochgelly station is on the end of the town towards Ballingry. The station can be accessed via a ramp from the small car park up to the Edinburgh platform. To access the north bound platform, passengers must cross the road from the car park and climb a flight of stairs. This station is unmanned and has no ticket vending facilities. Passengers boarding here must buy their tickets from staff on the train. There is a public phone in the waiting shelter on the Kirkcaldy platform. There are regular bus services to the town centre.

Lochgelly Albert Football Club is a Scottish football club based in Lochgelly, Fife. Their home ground is Purvis Park and they currently compete in the East of Scotland League Third Division. Club colours are black and amber. Founded in 1926 as an amateur side, the club stepped up to the Junior grade in 1933. In May 2020, the club confirmed they had successfully applied to join the East of Scotland Football League within the senior pyramid.

Lochgelly High School is a non-denominational secondary school located in Lochgelly, Fife. The school's catchment area covers Lochgelly and the surrounding towns and villages of Ballingry, Cardenden, Crosshill, Glencraig and Lochore. The school has more than double the Scottish average number of students entitled to free school meals.

Glencraig is a very small former mining village in Scotland, situated in the Benarty area of Fife, between Crosshill and Lochgelly. The village's population has decreased significantly since the decline of the coal-mining industry during the 1970s and 1980s.There are two memorial notice boards in the vicinity of the village. One is dedicated to the colliery and the other to the village.

Lumphinnans (Scottish Gaelic: Lann Fhìonain) is a small, former mining village along the B981 road, from west to east between the towns of Cowdenbeath and Lochgelly, in central Fife. Lumphinnans Primary and Community School is the local primary school, its facilities available under a community use programme in the evenings. Sporting facilities are also available at Lumphinnans Sports Hub and Lumphinnans Bowling Club, founded in 1909. Lumphinnans United A.F.C. play in the amateur football Kingdom of Fife AFA at Ochilview park. The name Lumphinnans is derived from the Scottish Gaelic lann, 'church', of (Saint) Fhìonain or Fillan, with early sources indicating both as possibilities. The -s suffix denotes a division of the lands into northern and southern parts.Historically, the village had nearby collieries, an ironworks and a brickworks.Lumphinnans was nicknamed as "Little Moscow" in the 1920s and 1930s for the area's support of communism. The local left-wing council named a road Gagarin Way in the Russian cosmonaut's honour, which inspired a play of the same name by Scots playwright Gregory Burke.

Crosshill is a village in Fife, Scotland, located just to the south of the village of Lochore, and to the east of Loch Ore.

Loch Gelly (Scottish Gaelic: Loch Gheallaidh) is a small loch in Fife, Scotland lying approximately 1.5 km to the south east of the town of Lochgelly which itself is named after the loch. The Gaelic name of the loch, Loch Gheallaidh, can be loosely translated as Loch of Shining Waters or Loch of Brightness. It is a broad, shallow flat bottomed basin approximately 1.75 km in length from west to east and 0.75 km wide at its maximum breadth. In May 1583 John Wemyss built a fort on the south side of the loch and kept an armed boat to prevent the Boswells of Balmuto fishing.Land around the loch is owned by Wemyss 1952 Trustees.The loch was surveyed on 11 May 1905 by Sir John Murray and later charted as part of The Bathymetrical Survey of Fresh-Water Lochs of Scotland 1897-1909.

Lochore Castle is a ruined 14th-century tower house, about 3 miles (4.8 km) south east of Cowdenbeath, Fife, Scotland, and south of Lochore, east of Loch Ore, in Lochore Country Park.Little remains of the castle, which was originally on the island of Inchgall, the name meaning “Isle of Strangers”. It may be known alternatively as Inchgall Castle

Lochore is a former mining village in Fife, Scotland. It takes its name from the nearby Loch Ore. It is largely joined to the adjacent villages of Ballingry to the north and Crosshill to the south.

Ballingry ( or locally or (older) ); Scots: Ballingry, Bingry, Scottish Gaelic: Baile Iongrach) is a small town in Fife, Scotland. It is near the boundary with Perth and Kinross, north of Lochgelly. It has an estimated population (2016) of 5,940. The once separate villages of Ballingry, Lochore, Crosshill, and Glencraig are now somewhat joined together as the part of the Benarty area. Ballingry, along with its neighbour Lochgelly, is one of Fife's 'regeneration areas' and is classed as in need of regeneration economically and socially.

The Mossmorran Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) plant is part of the northern North Sea Brent oil and gas field system and is located on the outskirts of Cowdenbeath, Scotland. The Mossmorran facilities comprise two plants: the Fife NGL Plant operated by Shell and the Fife Ethylene Plant operated by ExxonMobil. An associated sea-going tanker loading facility is located at Braefoot Bay, 4 miles (7 km) to the south.
