KWID (101.9 FM, "La Buena 101.9") is a commercial radio station that is licensed to Las Vegas, Nevada. The station is owned by Lotus Communications and broadcasts a Spanish-language adult hits format. The KWID studios are located in the unincorporated community of Spring Valley in Clark County and its transmitter is on Black Mountain in Henderson. Prior to the use of the call letters in Las Vegas, there was an unrelated shortwave radio station called KWID during World War II. Based in San Francisco, the original KWID was commissioned by the federal government to reach an international audience. It served as the basis for what later became the Voice of America radio network.

Black Mountain is a landmark mountain south of the Las Vegas Valley. It is one of the more prominent of the mountains in the McCullough Range. Another mountain, adjacent to Interstate 515 in Henderson, is commonly called Black Mountain, including by the city of Henderson. It is actually an unnamed peak. Black Mountain is home to the transmission towers of many of the Las Vegas area's television and radio stations.

The mountains in the McCullough Range lie mostly above the city of Henderson in the U.S. state of Nevada. The range has two distinct areas with the northern portion being primarily volcanic in origin, while the southern part of the range is primarily composed of metamorphic rock. McCullough Range was named after a pioneer settler.

Anthem is a master-planned community in Henderson, Nevada, part of the Las Vegas Valley. It was developed by Del Webb Corporation and opened in 1998.

At midday on December 13, 2009, Steven Koecher (born November 1, 1979) parked at the end of a cul-de-sac in the Anthem neighborhood of Henderson, Nevada, United States and got out of his car, an action recorded on a nearby home's security camera. After returning shortly afterwards, he retrieved something from the vehicle and walked away, with another security camera capturing his reflection in a car window. Koecher has not been seen since, although some activity was recorded on his cell phone over the next two days.Koecher's absence from his home, work, and church activities in St. George, Utah, was not noted for several days; eventually, the homeowners' association of Anthem, where he had parked, got in touch with his employer and then his parents about the abandoned car, at which time he was reported missing. Police had few leads at first, since it appeared he had intended to return to Utah and did not appear to be involved in any criminal activities. The reason for his trip to the Las Vegas area that day has never been determined; his family believes he was looking for work since he could not make the full rent payments on his apartment with the job he had. Searches in the area around where he was last seen yielded no evidence. Further investigation found credit card and cell phone receipts and witness statements showing that in the week prior to his disappearance, Koecher had been driving great distances around Utah and Nevada, including almost 1,100 miles (1,800 km) in one day. The purpose of these trips is also unknown; on one he stopped to visit a former girlfriend's parents and had lunch at their house.Joshua Powell, a West Valley City man suspected of murder in the disappearance of his wife Susan Powell – which took place a week before Koecher's – argued along with his father and brother that the two cases were related, suggesting the two were romantically involved and had run off together. Both Susan's family and Koecher's have dismissed that theory. The Koecher case has been the subject of an episode of the Investigation Discovery channel's Disappeared series.

KUNV (91.5 FM) is a non-commercial, jazz-oriented campus radio station in Paradise, Nevada, broadcasting from Greenspun Hall on the campus of University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). In November 2011, KUNV HD-2 launched The Morning Rebellion Show, a student-run morning show designed to offer training on how to assemble and execute a professional morning show. Industry professional Lynn Briggs was the initial mentor of the ongoing program. In March 2012, KUNV officially became known as 91.5 The Source, a name change intended to reflect that the station is the community's source for diverse programming unavailable on commercial radio. The station also became a Billboard reporter, making it one of very few public radio stations to ever hold that honor. During the same month the station also dropped its NPR affiliation and added PRI programming to its lineup, including the nationally syndicated "The Takeaway" program. In January 2014, KUNV discontinued its PRI programming and shifted focus to locally produced programming. A few syndicated programs are obtained through PRX which air in the evenings. In July 2014, KUNV was nominated by the National Association of Broadcasters for the inaugural Marconi award for Noncommercial Station of the Year. The other nominees were KCPW, WEAA, WRHU, and WSDP. In May, 2015, student programming made a return to the main station with a format reflecting what is done on the HD-2 station. Student programming runs from 9p-3a and includes independent rock, underground hip hop, and electronic music on weekdays and eclectic programming on the weekends.

KMXB (94.1 FM, "Mix 94-1") is a commercial radio station licensed to Henderson, Nevada, and serving the Las Vegas radio market. KMXB airs a hot adult contemporary radio format and is owned by Audacy, Inc. The station's studios and offices are located in the unincorporated Clark County community of Spring Valley, while its transmitter is atop Black Mountain in Henderson. KMXB broadcasts in the HD Radio format. Its HD2 subchannel carries Channel Q, an Audacy format of LGBTQ talk and EDM dance music. The HD3 subchannel carries a talk format branded as "101.5 K-Dawn", which serves as the continuation of the programming of the former KDWN and the originating station for translator station K268CS (101.5).

KKLZ (96.3 FM) is a commercial radio station located in Las Vegas, Nevada. The station is owned by Beasley Broadcast Group and airs a classic hits music format branded as "96-3 KKLZ". The KKLZ studios are located in Spring Valley, an unincorporated area of Clark County, while its transmitter is on Black Mountain in Henderson.

KISF (103.5 FM, "Zona MX 103.5") is a commercial radio station located in Las Vegas, Nevada. KISF airs a regional Mexican music format, and is the Las Vegas affiliate for El Bueno, La Mala, Y El Feo in the morning and El Free-Guey in the afternoon. Its studios are in Spring Valley and its transmitter is on Black Mountain in Henderson. KISF is owned by Latino Media Network; under a local marketing agreement, the station is programmed by previous owner TelevisaUnivision's Uforia Audio Network.

KSOS is a non-commercial radio station located in Las Vegas, Nevada, broadcasting on 90.5 FM. KSOS airs a Christian contemporary music format.

KCEP (88.1 MHz) is a non-commercial FM radio station located in Las Vegas, Nevada. KCEP airs an urban contemporary music format branded as "Power 88". Its studios are in Las Vegas and its transmitter is on Black Mountain in Henderson. KCEP for years has been able to thrive in the Las Vegas market serving the African American community since its launch on October 7, 1972. The station under its format plays R&B, Hip Hop, Classic Soul, Old School, Gospel and Jazz. Under this rubric music selection, KCEP has been a non-commercial alternative to Las Vegas' mainstream commercial stations that play similar music such as KVEG, KLUC and KOAS currently. (KYMT and KCYE formerly had former such formats in the 2000s.) As of May 2010, it is the affiliate for the syndicated Michael Baisden show in the afternoons. Other syndicated programming includes the Bobby Jones Gospel Countdown from AURN and Tell Me More with Michel Martin from NPR.

KSNE-FM (106.5 MHz) is a radio station broadcasting an adult contemporary music format. Licensed to Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, the station serves the Las Vegas area. The station is owned by iHeartMedia. Its studios are in Las Vegas a mile west of the Strip and its transmitter is on Black Mountain in Henderson. KSNE broadcasts three channels in the HD Radio format.
