Scripps Company alongside CW affiliate WSFL-TV (channel 39), also licensed to Miami. WPXM-TV's offices are located on Northwest 14th Street in Sunrise, and its transmitter is located in Andover, Florida.

It serves as the flagship station of South Florida PBS, which also owns Boynton Beach-licensed fellow PBS member WXEL-TV (channel 42, serving the West Palm Beach market) and Miami-licensed Class A station WURH-CD (channel 13). The three stations share transmitter facilities on Northwest 199th Street in Andover; WPBT's studios are located on Northeast 20th Avenue in North Miami. In addition to serving the Miami–Fort Lauderdale market, the station has significant viewership in much of the West Palm Beach market (alongside WXEL-TV), and is the only Miami area television station to serve the entire South Florida metropolis. WPBT is one of two PBS member stations serving the Miami–Fort Lauderdale market, alongside WLRN-TV (channel 17), owned by Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

WEDR has an unusually wide music selection for an urban contemporary-formatted radio station that ranges from typical hip-hop and R&B to afro beat. This is because South Florida is a very diversified region that has various music tastes. WEDR's studio is located in Hollywood, Florida. The station is owned by Cox Media Group alongside sister stations WHQT, WFEZ and WFLC. WEDR has an unusually shaped coverage area due to the station's decision to move its antenna from a class C to a class C1 on a new tower near Miami Gardens. This change was made primarily to avoid interfering with adjacent frequencies that serve southwestern Florida. It also began broadcasting in IBOC digital radio, using the HD Radio system from iBiquity in Summer 2005.

Y100 broadcasts at an effective radiated power of 100,000 watts from its 1,007 foot transmitter, which is located on the Miami-Dade side of the Miami-Dade/Broward County line near U.S. 441 and County Line Road. On a typical day its signal can generally be received north to Fort Pierce, southwest past Key Largo, and west deep into the Everglades. Its signal has even been known at times to go as far east as the Bahamas and as far south as Cuba. Its studios are located in Pembroke Pines. Y100 is the longest-running Top 40 station in both the United States and North America with the same call letters and nickname.
