Nachinola is a small village in North Goa district, Goa, India. It is situated in Bardez taluka (sub-district) between the villages Moira and Aldona. Nachinola is divided into three vadde (village sub-divisions) that are called Vainguinn, Zoidar, and Borvonn. For administrative purposes, Panarim, a vaddo of Aldona, is also considered to be a part of Nachinola. Nachinola village is hidden from the main road that passes through it and connects Mapusa to Aldona.

Moira ([mɔjɽɛ̃ː]) is a village in the Bardez Taluka of the North Goa District in India. It has been home to a number of notable individuals from Goa, while other prominent persons trace their roots to it. Till the recent past, Moira has been known for its typical, large bananas (known as Mundollchim kellim in Konkani) that grew in the area.

Olaulim is a scenic village in Bardez sub-district, North Goa, India. The village lies between the lush green hills that separate it off from Bastora and Porvorim on the West and the back waters of the Mandovi River on the East. Also 3 km away is Pomburpa (the springs here are a popular tourist attraction which incidentally haven't been known to run dry even in the worst of summers) to the south and Aldona 6 km away in a north easterly direction. Those are the nearest villages with the Dr. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary just across the river in Chorao. The village of Olaulim had been home to survivors of the brutal World War 2 attack on Rangoon, Burma where many Goans had flourishing businesses. The Pinto and Rodrigues families are some of the few such surviving families that still exist in Olaulim. Bardez (Konkani: Bardes; Portuguese: Bardes; IPA: /'baːɾdeːs/) is a taluka of the North Goa district in the Indian state of Goa. It was a concelho in the Portuguese State of India before 1961.

St. Jerome Church is a parish of the Catholic Church in Mapusa, Goa, India, in the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman. It is dedicated to the Church Father St. Jerome. The church also holds the shrine of Our Lady of Miracles and the feast day of Miracles is thronged by thousands of devotees every year.

Bastora is a village in North Goa, India. It is located on the outskirts of Mapusa town. Green and still scenic, this is one of the many communities and villages that makes up mainly-rural, but fast-urbanising Goa.

Teotonio Francisco Paulo Pereira (18 March 1930 – 16 February 2022) was an Indian politician, social activist, freedom fighter, musician, orator and businessperson from Goa. He was a former member of the Goa Legislative Assembly, representing the St. Andre Assembly constituency from 1963 to 1977 and 1980 to 1984.

Paliem is a village in the sub-district of Bardez in North Goa. It is not to be confused with the village of the same name, that lies in the sub-district of Pernem, a little further to its north. According to the official 2011 Census, Paliem in Bardez has an area of 135.98 hectares, a total of 314 households, a population of 1,377 (comprising 778 males and 599 females) with an under-six years population of 125 (comprising 71 boys and 54 girls).It shares a village panchayat with Ucassaim.

Mapusa is a town in North Goa, India. It is situated 13 km north of the capital Panaji. The town is the headquarters of Bardez Taluka. It is located on the main highway NH-17, linking Mumbai to Kochi. In Portuguese, the town is known as Mapuçá.

The Battle of Goa refers to a series of naval engagements between the Portuguese Armada and the Dutch East India Company fleets attempting to blockade and conquer the city of Goa. In 1638, forces commanded by the Viceroy of Portuguese India, D. Pedro da Silva and later António Teles de Meneses, fought off a large Dutch fleet sent to block the port colony of Goa, commanded by Admiral Adam Westerwolt, who was badly defeated at this encounter. The next year 1639, the Dutch Admiral Cornelis Simonsz van der Veere would conduct a new raid on Goa's port.

Mapusa Municipal Market (also known as Mapusa Market and Mapusa Friday Market) is a traditional market in Mapusa, North Goa and a major tourist attraction. It was built in 1960, the first planned market in Goa. The market has three blocks with 164 shops, some of which have been sub-divided, so bringing the total to 173. It is open every day, except Sunday; and is particularly popular on Friday mornings.
