Māngere Lagoon is a lagoon in the Manukau Harbour, New Zealand. It occupies a volcanic crater or maar which is part of the Auckland volcanic field. Oval and about 600m long, it has a small restored scoria island remaining in the centre.

Māngere Mountain is a volcanic cone in Māngere, Auckland. Located within Māngere Domain, it is one of the largest volcanic cones in the Auckland volcanic field, with a peak 106 metres (348 ft) above sea level. It was the site of a major pā (Māori fortified settlement) and many of the pā's earthworks are still visible. It has extensive panoramic views of Auckland from its location in the southeastern portion of the city's urban area. It is also known as Te Pane-o-Mataaho ("the head of Mataaho"), and Te Ara Pueru ("the Path of Dogskin Cloaks").The volcano features two large craters. It has a wide crater with a lava dome near its centre, a feature shared by no other volcano in Auckland. It first erupted approximately 70,000 years ago.The mountain is one of the largest and best preserved of Auckland's volcanic cones. Many archaeological features remain, including kumara pits, garden terraces, walled garden mounds and stone boundary walls.Near the mountain to the southwest is Māngere Lagoon, filling another volcanic crater.

Manukau Rovers Rugby Football Club is a rugby union club based in Auckland, New Zealand. The club was established in 1885 and is affiliated with the Auckland Rugby Football Union. In 1912, the club seceded to rugby league, although after a few years returned to rugby union. Since 1972, the club have been based at Williams Park in Māngere, fielding numerous senior and junior teams, catering to both men and women.

Māngere Bridge is a suburb of Auckland, New Zealand, under the local governance of the Auckland Council. Surrounded by the Manukau Harbour, the area is the most north-western suburb of South Auckland, and is connected to Onehunga in central Auckland by three bridges that cross the Māngere Inlet. Many features of the Auckland volcanic field are found in and around Māngere Bridge, including Māngere Mountain, a 106-metre-high (348 ft) feature in the centre of the suburb, and Māngere Lagoon, a volcanic tidal lagoon opposite Puketutu Island in the harbour. The suburb is also home to Ambury Regional Park, a working farm and nature sanctuary run by Auckland Council, that connects to the Kiwi Esplanade and Watercare Coastal walkways. After being inhabited for hundreds of years by Tāmaki Māori, the area became a Ngāti Mahuta settlement to provide defense of Auckland from the late 1840s until the invasion of the Waikato in 1863. From later in the 19th century, Māngere Bridge became an important rural area for supplying Auckland with produce and dairy, and from the 1920s it became a popular location for Chinese-run market gardens. Māngere Bridge developed suburban housing in the 1950s and 1960s, experiencing growth helped by its proximity to Auckland Airport, which opened in 1966. After the closure of open-air wastewater-treatment ponds in the early 2000s, the part of the harbour surrounding Māngere Bridge underwent significant ecological restoration. The suburb is multicultural; many residents are large families, and the housing stock is dominated by brick-and-tile homes built in the 1960s and 1970s. In 2019, the suburb name was officially gazetted as Māngere Bridge.

Hubbard Foods Ltd is a New Zealand manufacturer of breakfast cereals based in Auckland. It sells cereals under its Hubbard brand and private labels. Its founder is Dick Hubbard, who stepped down as CEO from 2004-2007 to serve as the mayor of Auckland. According to The Sunday Star-Times, in July 2010, Hubbard was "The number three player, behind Sanitarium and Kellogg's, in the so-called 'ready-to-eat' cereal market" in New Zealand. It employs around 150 staff.

St James Anglican Church is a heritage listed Anglican church in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, New Zealand. It is located in the suburb of Māngere Bridge on Church Road. The church was built in the 1850s by tangata whenua. It is the only remaining stone Selwyn church in Auckland.

Favona is a mostly industry-dominated suburb of Auckland, New Zealand, and is part of the Māngere area. The suburb is in the Manukau ward, one of the thirteen administrative divisions of Auckland city, and is under governance of the Auckland Council. The area has a long history of habitation, due to its fertile lands, a productive harbour, and proximity to the Manukau-Tamaki isthmus. Māori of Ngāti Whātua were the inhabitants until they were supplanted by European farmers in the 19th century. The development of market gardening brought more people into the area and the land remained used in this way until the 1960s when housing developments were created to service Auckland's growing population and industry in nearby Onehunga and Otahuhu. Some areas of Favona also historically had large areas of greenhouses, such as for tomato production.The area is one is of relative poverty and until 2005 had one of New Zealand's largest Caravan parks. It hosts the Mangere campus of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa. Numerous shipping and freight forwarding companies have premises in the industrial areas, including the national distribution headquarters of supermarket chain Progressive Enterprises.

Māngere (Māori pronunciation: [ˈmaːŋɛɾɛ]) is a major suburb in South Auckland, New Zealand, located on mainly flat land on the northeastern shore of the Manukau Harbour, to the northwest of Manukau City Centre and 15 kilometres south of the Auckland city centre. It is the location of Auckland Airport, which lies close to the harbour's edge to the south of the suburb. The area has been inhabited by Tāmaki Māori since early periods of Māori history, including large-scale agricultural stonefields, such as Ihumātao, and Māngere Mountain, which was home to a fortified pā. Te Ākitai Waiohua communities in Māngere thrived in the 1840s and 1850s after the establishment of a Wesleyan Mission and extensive wheat farms, until the Invasion of the Waikato in 1863. Māngere remained a rural community until the mid-20th Century, when Māngere became one of the largest state housing developments in Auckland.

Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board is one of the 21 local boards of the Auckland Council, and is overseen by the council's Manukau ward councillors. The board is governed by seven board members elected at-large. The board's administrative area includes the suburbs Māngere Bridge, Māngere, Ōtāhuhu, and Favona, and covers areas south of the Manukau Harbour.

Kiwi Esplanade is a coastal street in Māngere Bridge, Auckland, New Zealand, following the shore of the Manukau Harbour. A public walkway connects Ngā Hau Māngere Bridge in the east to Ambury Regional Park in the west. The shoreline is notable for the visible pāhoehoe lava flows, which originated from Māngere Mountain.

Ambury Regional Park (also known as Ambury Farm) is a regional park situated on the coast of Manukau Harbour, in Auckland in New Zealand's North Island. It is situated in the suburb of Māngere Bridge and in the local board area of Māngere-Ōtāhuhu, to the west of Māngere Mountain.The park is a working sheep and dairy farm with a woolshed and milking shed. There are also goats, cows, pigs, chickens, turkey, rabbits and peacocks. Areas of the park are leased to the Mangere Pony Club, and the Ambury Park Centre for Riding Therapy, a charity which opened in 1985, which provides physiological and psychological therapy through horse riding.The parks hosts the Ambury Farm Day each year. It is the largest annual event organised by Auckland Council, and gives families free access to a working farm.

Centre Park is a stadium located in Mangere, Auckland, New Zealand. The stadium hosted the 2011 OFC U-20 Championship. It is the home of Northern League side Manukau United.
