Waldo is a neighborhood located in south Kansas City, Missouri, that has continued to maintain its own unique character, even though it was annexed by Kansas City in 1909. Waldo's boundaries are Gregory Boulevard on the north to 85th Street on the south, and Holmes Street on the east to Ward Parkway on the west.

University Academy serves approximately 1,100 students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade who reside in the Kansas City Missouri Schools District (“KCMSD”). As a charter public school, University Academy admits students on the basis of a random lottery drawn from a pool of applicants. All applicants must reside within the boundaries of the Kansas City Missouri Schools District.

Armour Hills is a neighborhood located in Kansas City, Missouri. It is bounded on the west by Brookside Road, on the north by 65th Street, on the east by Oak Street and the south by Gregory Boulevard. The name of this area derives from the fact that the land was owned by members of the Armour family of the Armour and Company. The land was purchased from the Armours by J.C. Nichols in May 1922, and construction continued for the next decade. Nichols stipulated that each home should look unique. So, the 1,068 homes in this neighborhood range from Tudor Revival, Cape Cod, and Dutch Colonials built with brick, stone, and wood in many different sizes.

St. Peter's Catholic Parish' was founded in 1925 by Catholic families in the then suburb of Brookside, Kansas City. The community has a K-8 school.

Hogan Preparatory Academy is a charter high school at 1221 East Meyer Boulevard in Kansas City, Missouri. Although a public school it is not part of the Kansas City, Missouri School District since it is a charter school. As of March 2011 it had an enrollment of 348 making it the 176th largest high school in Missouri. It has 34 teachers. The school in March 2011 had an enrollment that was 98 percent African American. The school colors are maroon, white and silver and the mascot is the Ram.

Southwest Early College Campus, often shortened to Southwest, was a university preparatory middle school and high school campus located at 6512 Wornall Road in Kansas City, Missouri, 64113, United States. It was part of the Kansas City, Missouri School District. The school closed on May 17, 2016.

Ward Parkway is a boulevard in Kansas City, Missouri, United States. Ward Parkway begins at Brookside Boulevard on the eastern edge of the Country Club Plaza and travels west 2.8 miles along Brush Creek as U.S. Route 56 before turning south near Kansas-Missouri state line. It continues south for 4 miles, terminating at Wornall Road near Bannister Road. A short spur, Brush Creek Parkway, connects Ward Parkway to Shawnee Mission Parkway at State Line Road. The street is named after the family of local businessman and real estate tycoon Seth E. Ward (1820-1903), who owned property on both sides of the parkway. His family's mansion is located at 1032 West 55th Street along Ward Parkway and remains on the National Register of Historic Places.Ward Parkway has a wide, landscaped median, which is decorated with fountains and statuary. Many of Kansas City's finest large houses are along Ward Parkway as part of the planned Country Club District.

The Landing is a small mall in Kansas City, Missouri. It was built in 1960, on 63rd Street and Troost Avenue (it also has frontage on East Meyer Boulevard) and it was originally an open-air shopping center. The architect of the Landing Mall was Edward Tanner, who was also the architect of the old Kansas City Missouri School District Building on 12th and McGee Street in Downtown. It was enclosed in 1970, and was renamed The New Landing Mall. So far, no renovation plans have been made. The Landing was named for the landing place of Noah's Ark. There was previously a menagerie mural and play area within the mall. It is managed by Block & Company, which lists its current capacity at 131,497 square feet, with the surrounding traffic at 54,000 cars a day.One of the mall's original tenants was Macy's, which became Dillard's in 1988. The centers original anchor was a branch of the original R.H. Macy company. It was last open as Gold's Department Store and currently operates with a barber college on the second floor.

Nazarene Theological Seminary (NTS) is a Nazarene seminary in Kansas City, Missouri. The seminary was established by the Eleventh General Assembly in June 1944 and started its first school year in 1945 with 61 students. It moved to its current location in 1950. The seminary offers master's degrees in Divinity, Christian Education, Intercultural Studies, and Theological Studies as well as a Doctor of Ministry degree (D.Min.) and non-degree programs.
