Lago Morto

The Giardino Botanico delle Alpi Orientali (6.25 hectares), also known as the Giardino Botanico di Monte Faverghera, is an alpine botanical garden located in the Corpo Forestale dello Stato die Belluno on Monte Faverghera, southeast of Nevegal, Province of Belluno, Veneto, Italy. It is open daily except Mondays in the warmer months; an admission fee is charged. The garden was founded in 1969, and located at 1400-1600 metres altitude on a site of sub-alpine scrub, swamps, bogs, pastures, valleys, and limestone cliffs. It contains about 800 plant species including Arenaria huteri, Moehringia glaucovirens, Paederota bonarota, Paederota lutea, Physoplexis comosa, Rhodothamnus chamaecistus, Wulfenia carinthiaca, and plants native to the oriental alps.

The Lago di Santa Croce is a semi-natural lake in the province of Belluno, Veneto, northern Italy. It is part of the communes of Alpago and Ponte nelle Alpi. The lake is located at 386 metres (1,266 feet) ASL and currently has an area of 7.2 square kilometres (2.8 sq mi), with an average depth of 33 metres (108 feet). It was originally naturally a smaller lake, but was expanded with a dam during the 1930s. Outlets of the lake include the Piave. The area is quite a windy location and as such is a popular sailing, watersports and kitesurfing location.

As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 3,087 and an area of 17.9 square kilometres (6.9 sq mi).The village is famous for its frazione, Montaner, because during the 1970s the schism of Montaner occurred under the jurisdiction of the future Pope John Paul I. Belluno Cathedral (Italian: Duomo di Belluno, Basilica cattedrale di San Martino) is a Roman Catholic cathedral in the historic centre of the city of Belluno, Veneto, Italy, dedicated to Saint Martin. It is the episcopal seat of the diocese of Belluno-Feltre. It was elevated to the status of a minor basilica on 18 June 1980 by Pope John Paul II.
