The House at 307 Lexington Street in Newton, Massachusetts, is a well-preserved small-scale Greek Revival house. The 1+3⁄4-story wood-frame house was built c. 1860, and has a steeply pitched gable roof with paired gable dormers on the side, and a round-arch window at the top of the gable (an Italianate feature). The front gable hangs over a full-width porch supported by Doric columns. A classic entablature encircles the house.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The House at 230 Melrose Street in the Auburndale section of Newton, Massachusetts, is one of the village's most elaborately decorated houses. The two story wood-frame house was built c. 1858, and features predominantly Second Empire styling, including a distinctive tower above the entry that is capped by an extended bracketed cornice. The porch features Stick style valance decoration, a feature not usually seen until later in the 19th century.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Auburndale is one of the thirteen villages within the city of Newton in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. It lies at the western end of Newton near the intersection of interstate highways 90 and 95. It is bisected by the Massachusetts Turnpike (Interstate 90). Auburndale is surrounded by three other Newton villages (West Newton, Waban, and Newton Lower Falls) as well as the city of Waltham and the Charles River. Auburndale is the home of Williams and Burr elementary schools, as well as Lasell College. Auburndale Square is the location of the Plummer Memorial Library, which is run by the Auburndale Community Library and no longer affiliated with the Newton Free Library, the Turtle Lane Playhouse, and many small businesses.

Fox Island is a minor island located in the Charles River in Waltham, Massachusetts. The island is public, uninhabited, and forested. It is owned by the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR). Fox Island's name is in conjunction with Fox Park in Waltham, which is just to the west by north of Fox Island, and also owned by the DCR. Fox Island was previously partially owned by Stephen B. Cram circa 1865. In 1891, Harvey Bartlett opened Forest Grove and Fox Island, a getaway that featured a swimming area, bathing houses, a carousel, a dance hall, a refreshment stand, and a bridge from Forest Grove to Fox Island. Bartlett's business was hurt by the opening of nearby Norumbega Park in 1897, but Fox Island remained an attraction for courting couples and daring swimmers.

The Plummer Memorial Library is a historic library at 375 Auburn Street in Newton, Massachusetts. Once operated as a branch of the Newton Free Library, the city's public library system, it was closed in 2009 due to financial cuts. It is now operated as a community library by a local non-profit organization. The building is a 1+1⁄2-story Tudor style brick building, built in 1927 with funding by subscription from Newton residents. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

The House at 203 Islington Road is a historic house at 203 Islington Road in Newton, Massachusetts. It is an elaborately decorated Late Victorian house, built in buff-colored stone with dark brick trim elements. Built in 1870, it is the only surviving element of a larger estate (known as "Islington") built by Ezra Winslow; the main estate house, overlooking the nearby Charles River, has long been demolished. It was briefly featured in episode 1 of the 31st season of the PBS television series This Old House (2009).The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Auburndale station is an MBTA Commuter Rail station in Auburndale, Massachusetts. It serves the Framingham/Worcester Line. It is located next to the Massachusetts Turnpike near Lasell College. The modern station platform, built around 1961, replaced a highly acclaimed 1881 depot building designed by H. H. Richardson. A full renovation of the station for accessibility is planned.

The House at 2212 Commonwealth Avenue, in the Auburndale section of Newton, Massachusetts, is a rare local example of domestic Gothic Revival architecture. The two story wood-frame house was built c. 1845, and is distinguished by its board-and-batten siding, oriel window, crenellated porch decoration, and bracketing in the eaves. It appears to be based on one of the panel's in Andrew Jackson Downing's The Architecture of Country Houses, which espoused the style.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The O'Hara Waltham Dial factory was a historic building at 74 Rumford Avenue in Waltham, Massachusetts. The three story brick structure was built in 1897 by Daniel O'Hara, and housed his company, a spinoff from the Waltham Watch Company which specialized in the manufacture of a variety of clock faces. The building had distinctive corner towers with paneled brick surfaces, although these were a later (early 1900s) addition. O'Hara's company operated until the late 1950s; the facility was then used in the manufacture of traffic signals and luggage.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.On April 5, 2019 the city of Waltham issued a Notice of Unsafe Structure for the building. On June 12, 2019 it was decided that the building was beyond repair and was subsequently demolished. The lot is currently vacant with some of the original foundations remaining.

The E. C. Hammond House is a historic house at 35 Groveland Street in Newton, Massachusetts. The 1 3/4 story wood-frame house was built in 1909 and designed by its owner, Edward C. Hammond, a lumberman. The house is a simple but well-crafted and preserved example of Craftsman styling. It has a steep gabled roof, with a pergola porch across the front of the main façade. It retains its interior wood work and some original light fixtures.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

United Parish of Auburndale, formerly the Auburndale Congregational Church, is a historic church at 64 Hancock Street in the Auburndale village of Newton, Massachusetts. Built in 1857 for an 1850 congregation and repeatedly enlarged, it is a prominent regional example of Romanesque architecture in wood. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 4, 1986.
