Beočin

The Beočin Monastery (Serbian: Mанастир Беочин, romanized: Manastir Beočin) is a Serbian Orthodox monastery, located just outside Beočin, on Fruška Gora mountain in the northern Serbian province of Vojvodina. The date of its founding is unknown. It was first mentioned in Ottoman Turkish records dated in 1566/1567. The monastery suffered heavy damages and was abandoned during the Austro-Turkish Wars (1593–1791), but the monks of Rača (western Serbia) arrived and reconstructed the holy place. The construction works on the extant church lasted from 1732 until 1740, and the bell-tower was completed in 1762. A general reconstruction was undertaken in 1893. The icons were painted by Janko Halkozović, Dimitrije Bačević and Teodor Kračun. Beočin Monastery was declared a Monument of Culture of Exceptional Importance in 1990 and it is protected by Republic of Serbia.

Rakovac (Serbian Cyrillic: Раковац) is a village in Serbia. It is situated in the Beočin municipality which is in the Vojvodina province. Although, the village is geographically located in Syrmia, it is part of the South Bačka District. The village has a Serb ethnic majority and its population numbering 1,989 people as of the 2002 census. Rakovac is divided into two parts: Stari Rakovac ("old Rakovac") and Novi Rakovac ("new Rakovac"). Geographically it is close to the big city of Novi Sad.

Futog (Serbian Cyrillic: Футог, German and Hungarian: Futak) is a suburban settlement of the city of Novi Sad, Serbia, with a population of 18,642 according to the 2011 census in Serbia. It is situated in southern Bačka, 7 km away from Novi Sad.

The Church of St. Cosmas and Damian in Futog, suburb of Novi Sad, is a Serbian Orthodox church in Vojvodina, Serbia. The church is dedicated to saint Cosmas and Damian. The church is the only one in the Eparchy of Bačka dedicated to Saints Cosmas and Damian.

The Rakovac Monastery (Serbian: Манастир Раковац, romanized: Manastir Rakovac) is a Serb Orthodox monastery on the Fruška Gora mountain in the northern Serbian province of Vojvodina. The monastery of Rakovac with its church dedicated to the Holy Healers Cosmas and Damian, as tradition has it, was founded by Raka Milošević, Chief Chamberlain to Despot Jovan Branković, according to a legend written in 1704. The legend states that Raka erected the monastery in 1498. The earliest historical records mentioning the monastery are dated to 1545–1546. Inside, there are fragments of the frescoes on the walls which date from the first half of the 16th century. The baroque bell-tower was adjoined in 1735, and the residential building gained its final, three-range shape in 1771. The icons on the baroque iconostasis were painted by Vasa Ostojić in 1763, while the wall paintings in the refectory are 1768 works of Amvrosije Janković. Rakovac Monastery was declared Monument of Culture of Exceptional Importance in 1990, and it is protected by Republic of Serbia.

Kamenjar (Serbian Cyrillic: Камењар) is a suburban settlement of the city of Novi Sad, Serbia. It is located between river Danube in the south-west, Adice in the north and Kameničko Ostrvo in the east.

Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (Serbo-Croatian: Crkva srca Isusovog) is a Roman Catholic church located in Futog, suburb of Vojvodina's capital Novi Sad, Serbia. The building was completed in period between 1906 and 1908. Count András Hadik de Futak built the original church at the same site already in 1776. Countess Kotek asked architect Ferenc Weninger to design the new building in style of Gothic Revival while the old building was demolished. The building is listed as a part of Immovable Cultural Heritage of Great Importance.

Fruška gora (Serbian Cyrillic: Фрушка гора; Hungarian: Tarcal-hegység) is a mountain in Syrmia, administratively part of Serbia with a part of its western side extending into eastern Croatia. The area under Serbian administration forms the country's oldest national park. Sometimes also referred to as the Jewel of Serbia, due to its largely pristine landscape and protection effort, or the Serbian Mount Athos, being the home of a large number of historical Serbian Orthodox monasteries.
