Tirusulam is a neighbourhood in Chennai, India. For administrative purposes, it is a census town in Chennai. The Chennai International Airport is located here opposite the Tirusulam Railway station, with the cargo terminal located at the adjacent Meenambakkam. Chennai International Airport is the primary airport serving the city of Chennai. The airport is the regional headquarters of the Airports Authority of India for South India comprising the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala and the union territories of Puducherry and Lakshadweep. There is also a railway station here (opposite the airport) with a convenient pedestrian subway that connects the station and the airport. The neighbourhood is served by Tirusulam railway station and Pallavaram Railway Station. There is a Metro Train Station that will see trains connecting the airport with Chennai Central railway station and also the Tirusulam suburban railway station. Also there is a tower testing station here.

The Chennai International Airport Metro Station is a metro railway station on the Blue Line of the Chennai Metro. The station serves the Chennai International Airport and the neighbourhoods of Meenambakkam, Tirusulam, Pallavaram and Pammal. The station is the only elevated airport metro station in India. The other airport metro stations in the country such as those in Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai and the proposed ones at Bangalore and Hyderabad are underground. The station enables rapid transit connectivity with the airport, making Chennai the second city in India after Delhi to achieve this.

Chennai International Airport (IATA: MAA, ICAO: VOMM) is an international airport serving the city of Chennai, Tamil Nadu and its metropolitan area. It is located in Tirusulam, 21 km (13 mi) southwest of the city centre. Chennai International Airport is the sixth busiest airport in India and third busiest airport for international traffic in India. It was also 49th busiest airport in Asia in 2018 making it one of the four major airports in India under the top 50 list of 2018. In financial year 2021, the airport handled 9.53 million passengers.The airport is served by the airport metro station of the Chennai Metro and the Tirusulam railway station of the Chennai Suburban Railway system. To cope with the passenger traffic, two new terminals, including one satellite terminal, are under construction to handle 40 million passengers per year. Once completed, it will be India's first airport to have a satellite terminal. The new satellite terminal will be connected through a four way underground walkalator for passenger movement across different terminals. Still, the Tirusulam airport complex is expected to reach saturation by 2035, with a peak capacity of 40 million passengers, and a proposal for a new greenfield airport in Parandur has been approved. Once the new airport is commissioned, both the airports will be functional.The older domestic and international blocks 2 and 3 were named after former Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu K. Kamaraj and C. N. Annadurai, respectively. It was the first airport in India to have international and domestic terminals located adjacent to each other. It was designed by Creative Group, an India-based architecture firm. The airport serves as the southern regional headquarters of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for South India comprising the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala and the union territories of Puducherry and Lakshadweep.

Tirusoolanathar Tripurasundari Temple, also known as the Tirusoolanathar Temple, is a Hindu temple located in Tirusulam, a suburb of Chennai, India. The presiding deity is Shiva. The goddess is Tirupurasundari. The temple has inscriptions dating from the Pallava period.

The Tirusulam Railway Station is one of the railway stations of the Chennai Beach–Chengalpattu section of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network. It serves the neighbourhood of Tirusulam, a suburb of Chennai where the city's airport is located. It is located at a distance of 21 km (13 mi) from Chennai Beach terminus and is situated on the GST Road across the airport, with an elevation of 20 m (66 ft) above sea level.

Meenambakkam is a southern neighbourhood of Chennai in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is home to Chennai International Airport, the Airports Authority of India regional office, and the DGQA Complex. It was under the reign of the Pallava kingdom. The name Meenambakkam signifies that it is a settlement near the coast. Pakkam means a settlement near to the coast. Meenambakkam was cherished with lakes, ponds and borderlines the Adyar river. This makes it a rich source of fishes. Hence the name Meenambakkam was coined.

A.M. Jain College is a prestigious institution in Meenambakkam near in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It was opened in 1952, It provides courses in the arts, sciences and information technology along with visual communication courses. The college's campus is located opposite the Meenambakkam Railway Station. The college is managed by the Jain Community Associations and is affiliated with Madras University.

Cowl Bazaar is a suburb of Chennai located in the Chengalpattu district of Tamil Nadu, India. It is a village panchayat in St.Thomas Mount Block located north of Pozhichalur and west of Chennai International Airport along the banks of Adyar River. It is located about 21 kilometres (13 mi) Marina Beach and 3 km (1.9 mi) Porur. It is located closer to other major suburban areas like Pammal, Pallavaram, Anakaputhur and Kundrathur. The neighborhood is served by Pallavaram railway station of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network. The Cowl Bazaar Bridge connects Pallavaram, Pammal and Pozhichalur with Kolapakkam, Porur, Moulivakkam and Manapakkam. The Pallavaram - Kolapakkam Road connects Pallavaram with Kolapakkam via Pammal and Pozhichalur runs along Cowl Bazaar.

Ayyappa Nagar is a residential area within Madipakkam, a southern suburb of Chennai (formerly known as Madras), in Tamil Nadu, India. It was named after the temple built there to Lord Ayyappa, notable, like Sabarimala, for having eighteen steps. Ayyappa Nagar has eighteen streets and extends from Sabari Salai to Keelkattalai. It belongs to the panchayat of Madipakkam, although a growing population means that Madipakkam is in reality no longer a village. The New Madipakkam Lake was desilted in 2002/03, which helped improve the water table of the area. The area is low lying in relation to the adjacent Moovarsampet area, and water flows into the lake from there during the rainy season. Ayyappa Nagar has two hospitals: GM Hospital and Padhuvai. It has few shops except for a small number of potti kadais (petty shops). There is a welfare association which conducts elections every two years. The Ayyappan Temple has a large hall as its annex. Every year on 1 January a distribution of free food (annadanam) is made at the temple. The festivals of Vishu (Malayali new year in April) and Jothi (coinciding with Pongal in January) also bring many people to the temple. Ayyappa Nagar is also a residential area near Koyambedu, Chennai Tamil Nadu.

Pallavaram is a state assembly constituency in Tamil Nadu, India, that was formed after constituency delimitation in 2007. Its State Assembly Constituency number is 30. Located in Chengalpattu district, it is included in the Sriperumbudur parliamentary constituency for national elections. It is one of the 234 State Legislative Assembly Constituencies in Tamil Nadu in India. It includes all areas in Zone 1 and Zone 2 of Tambaram City Municipal Corporation, Hashinapuram and Nemilicherry villages in Zone 3 of Tambaram City Municipal Corporation, Ward 158 in Zone 12 of Greater Chennai Corporation (Meenambakkam) and Pozhichalur and Tirusulam Villages in St.Thomas Mount Panchayat Union.

It serves the neighbourhood of Pallavaram, Pammal, Nagalkeni, Anakaputhur, Pozhichalur, Cowl Bazaar, Kolapakkam, Gerugambakkam, Kovoor, Thandalam, Tharapakkam, Thiruneermalai, Kundrathur, Mangadu, and Keelkattalai. It is situated about 23 km (14 mi) from Chennai Beach, and has an elevation of 4 m (13 ft) above sea level.
