Highland Secondary School (Dundas, Ontario)

Dundas station was a passenger station in Dundas, Ontario, Canada. It was located halfway up the Niagara Escarpment west of downtown Dundas, near where Hamilton Regional Road 8 (formerly Ontario Highway 8) crosses under the railway tracks.

Dundas Central Public School is a primary school located in Dundas, Ontario. It teaches students kindergarten to grade 8. Dundas Central is the second oldest school in Ontario. Dundas Central celebrated its 150th Anniversary on June 16, 2007.

It encompasses a portion of Ontario previously included in the electoral districts of Ancaster—Dundas—Flamborough—Westdale, Hamilton Centre and Hamilton Mountain.Hamilton West—Ancaster—Dundas was created by the 2012 federal electoral boundaries redistribution and was legally defined in the 2013 representation order. It came into effect upon the call of the 42nd Canadian federal election, on October 19, 2015.

Wentworth County, area 269,057 acres (1,089 km2), is a historic county in the Canadian province of Ontario. It was created in 1816 as part of the Gore District (1816-1849) in what was then Upper Canada and later Canada West (1841-1867). It was named in honour of Sir John Wentworth, the last governor of colonial New Hampshire, lieutenant-governor of Nova Scotia (1792 to 1808) and an intimate friend of William Jarvis, the first provincial secretary of Upper Canada. The county originally consisted of seven townships that formerly belonged to Haldimand, Lincoln and York Counties. Between 1850 and 1854, Wentworth County and Halton County were briefly joined for government purposes as the United Counties of Wentworth and Halton although for administrative purposes, they remained distinct. In 1973, Wentworth County was replaced by the Regional Municipality of Hamilton-Wentworth. In 2001, the Regional Municipality and its six constituent municipalities were amalgamated as the "megacity" of Hamilton.

Spencer Gorge/Webster's Falls Conservation Area is located on the Niagara Escarpment in Dundas, Ontario, a constituent community of Hamilton, Ontario, and is owned and operated by the Hamilton Conservation Authority. It has views over Hamilton and a two major waterfalls that are accessible via a system of trails. The natural features found in the area are considered to be provincially significant. A shuttle service runs from Christie Lake Conservation Area to Spencer Gorge/Webster Falls Conservation Area, for visitors to access this conservation area on weekends and holidays.

Dundas Valley Conservation Area is located on the Niagara Escarpment in Dundas, Ontario, a constituent community of Hamilton, Ontario, and is owned and operated by the Hamilton Conservation Authority. Its 40-kilometre trail system provides a connection to the Bruce Trail. The area contains a trailhead of the Hamilton-Brantford-Cambridge Trails, Canada's first fully developed interurban multi-use trail system, which is a part of the Trans Canada Trail.

Parkside High School was located at 31 Parkside Avenue, Dundas, Ontario, and was a member of the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB). The school opened in 1960 and backed onto the Dundas escarpment. Parkside High School had a 2009–2010 enrollment of 700, and reported that 80% of its graduates attend post-secondary education. The school's mission statement was "Educating students to become lifelong learners and contributing citizens in a challenging, changing, multi-cultural world." The school also offered special education classes and had an ESL program. In 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 Parkside High School was noted as the school with the most involved students in HWDSB according to Director Malloy's Annual Report.The HWDSB announced on 15 May 2012 that Parkside High School would close in 2014, citing over $5 million in repair costs and almost 200 empty seats. The students attending Parkside were moved to Dundas Valley Secondary School, which will receive $15 million for renovations if approved by the Ministry of Education.Parkside closed in June 2014 at the end of the 2013/2014 school year. Demolition of the school began in January 2017.

Crooks' Hollow Dam (alternatively, Dundas Town Dam) was a buttressed gravity dam, built of concrete in 1916 on Spencer Creek in Greensville, Ontario, Canada. About 100 yards upstream from the ruins of the much earlier Cockburn sawmill and dam, it replaced that dam in supplying water by pipe to Dundas for all uses. It also provided much greater flood control, and, more than the Cockburn dam, supplied a managed flow for water power users in the industries downstream. The Dundas Star commented on its completion: "... an excellent piece of work. It is now hoped there will be no further difficulty about securing an adequate water supply for many years to come." The dam was demolished in early 2013.

The Hermitage was a large residence situated in Ancaster, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, which now exists as ruins and is part of The Hermitage and Gatehouse Museum maintained by the Hamilton Conservation Authority. The location is a popular destination for hikers and people interested in the paranormal.

Griffin House is a house built in 1827 by Englishmen in Ancaster. It was purchased, along with 50 acres of farmland, by Enerals Griffin and his wife Priscilla in 1834. The Griffins were enslaved in their early lives, but self-liberated by escaping to Canada in the early 1800s. The Griffins were some of the first Black Settlers in the area, and the site remains an important part of Black history in Canada. . It offers Underground Railroad tours and history-related programs. Griffin House was designated as a National Historic Site of Canada in 2008. The house is a rare surviving example of a four-room house typical in Upper Canada in the early 19th century. It was owned by Enerals Griffin, an African American slave from Virginia who escaped to Canada in 1834. For the next 150 years, their descendants lived and farmed here atop a hill in peace. The property was sold to the Hamilton Region Conservation Authority in 1988. The home was restored between 1992 and 1994. Over 3,000 artefacts were discovered during that period. The museum in the home is operated as a joint project between the Hamilton Conservation Authority and Fieldcote Memorial Park and Museum. Public visitation and interpretation is offered. The waterfalls, Heritage Falls or Griffin Falls, behind the museum, is also a tourist attraction operated by the Conservation Authority.
