Corps out of which 1 German-Netherlands Corps evolved. The corps has national and multinational operational responsibilities. Due to its role as a NATO High Readiness Forces Headquarters, soldiers from other NATO member states, the United States, Norway, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, France, Greece, Turkey, Czech Republic and Belgium are also stationed in Münster.

The Münstersche Aa (German pronunciation: [ˌmʏnstɐʃə ˈʔaː]) is a river in the Münster region of Westphalia in Germany. It is a left tributary of the Ems. The Münstersche Aa begins near Havixbeck, flows southeast until Münster, and then north to Greven, where it flows into the Ems. The total length of the Münstersche Aa is about 43 kilometres (27 mi).

The Zwinger in the Westphalian city of Münster is part of the old city fortifications from the Early Modern Period. In the Nazi era it was both a gaol and a Gestapo place of execution and was heavily damaged by allied air raids. Since its conversion to a memorial the Zwinger has belonged to the Münster City Museum (Stadtmuseum Münster) and is home to the sculpture Das gegenläufige Konzert.
