Kincardine, Sutherland

Ardgay railway station is a railway station serving the village of Ardgay and its neighbour Bonar Bridge in the Highland council area of Scotland. The station is on the Far North Line, 57 miles 70 chains (93.1 km) from Inverness, between Tain and Culrain. ScotRail, who manage the station, operate all services.

Ardgay ard-GY (Scottish Gaelic: Àird Gaoith or Àird Ghaoithe) ["high wind"] is a small Scottish village on the south west shore of the Dornoch Firth, Sutherland and is 1 mile south from Bonar Bridge and lies at the entrance to Strathcarron, the valley of the River Carron and is at the mouth of the Kyle of Sutherland. In the Highland Council area, Ardgay is in Ward 1, the North, West and Central Sutherland ward. The Ardgay & District Community Council serves the area. Ardgay is also the postal town for the area covered by IV24, even although Bonar Bridge is a larger settlement and provides the Delivery Office for the IV24 local area.Ardgay is served by Ardgay railway station. The hamlet of Kincardine lies less than 1 mile south east along the A836 coast road. National Cycle Route 1 passes through Ardgay.

Ardchronie (Scottish Gaelic: Àird Chrònaidh) is a hamlet in the Highland Council area of Scotland. It lies on the south side of the Dornoch Firth, about 2 miles south of Bonar Bridge. Upper Ardchronie is on the hill above Ardchronie.

The Migdale Hospital is a health facility in Bonar Bridge, Scotland. It is managed by NHS Highland.

Bonar Bridge (Scottish Gaelic: Drochaid a' Bhanna, pronounced [ˈt̪ɾɔxɪtʲ ə ˈvan̪ˠə]) is a village on the north bank of the Kyle of Sutherland to the west and the Dornoch Firth to the east in the Parish of Creich in the Highland council area of Scotland. The Kyle of Sutherland ("the Kyle" for locals) is a river estuary of the Rivers Oykel, Cassley, Shin and Carron that all enter the Kyle above the bridge at Bonar. The estuary (downstream) and the rivers (upstream) separate Sutherland from Ross and Cromarty to the south, and the estuary opens into the Dornoch Firth to the east.

The River Carron (Scottish Gaelic: Carrann) is an east coast river in Sutherland, in the Highlands of Scotland. It begins as Abhainn a' Ghlinne Mhòir, which joins with the Alladale River (Scottish Gaelic: Abhainn Alladail) to form the River Carron. Further downstream, tributaries include the Water of Glencalvie and the Black Water. The River Carron flows down through Strathcarron, then into the Kyle of Sutherland near Bonar Bridge. The River Carron is used for kayaking and salmon fishing.

The Migdale Hoard is a group of early Bronze Age jewellery discovered by workmen blasting a granite knoll behind Bonar Bridge, Scotland, near what is known as "Tulloch Hill" in May 1900. It is named after the nearby Loch Migdale. Dating from about 2000-1150 BC, the artifacts are in the custody of the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. They include a bronze axe head, sets of bronze bangles and anklets, and a series of beautifully carved jet and cannel coal buttons that may well have adorned a Bronze Age jacket, bronze hair ornaments and fragments of an elaborate bronze headdress.

The Carron Bridge is a bridge over the River Carron near Ardgay in Sutherland, Scotland.

Creich (Scottish Gaelic: Craoich, pronounced [kʰɾɯːç]) is a substantial parish on the north side of the Dornoch Firth the largest settlement being Bonar Bridge. It lies in Sutherland, Scotland.There is a church (now in ruins) and graveyard for the Parish of Creich. Creich Mains farm is located here. Beside the old (walled) graveyard in a field there is a standing stone engraved with a faint Celtic-style Christian cross. This is associated with a battle between locals and Norsemen/Vikings. There is a rocky hill forming a peninsula into the Kyle of Sutherland called Dun Creich (the "hill of Creich"), which has the ruins of a vitrified fort on its summit.

Loch Migdale is a freshwater loch (Lake) near Bonar Bridge, in Sutherland, Highland, Scotland. The loch contains a crannog (artificial-island home) dating from the Iron Age.

Easter Fearn is a small settlement in the Ross-shire area of the Highland council area in Scotland, on the A836 and B9176 roads it is 3 miles from Ardgay and is 6 miles from the A9. Easter Fearn is on the Dornoch Firth and is home to Strudie Hill. Easter Fearn is adjacent to Wester Fearn, Fearn Lodge and Mid Fearn, the Latter of which had a railway station.The area around the settlement is wetlands and there are many hiking trails in the area including the aforementioned Strudie Hill. The Far North line railway passes through the settlement but it doesn't have nor ever had a station.

Dounie (Scottish Gaelic: Dùnaidh) is a small remote scattered hamlet in Sutherland, Scottish Highlands and is in the Scottish council area of Highland. The River Carron runs through Dounie.
