Peterson Avenue Hill

The Peterson–Dumesnil House is a Victorian-Italianate house in the Crescent Hill neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, United States. Of the remaining large country estates built by Louisvillians in the late 19th century to the east of the city, it is the closest to Downtown Louisville, and primarily for that reason, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association Hall of Fame was established in 1991 to recognize coaches who have made extraordinary contributions to the sport of softpitch softball. The National Fastpitch Coaches Association ("NFCA") is a professional organization for fastpitch softball coaches from all competitive levels of play. As of 2022, 91 individuals have been inducted into the NFCA Hall of Fame.

The Louisville Academy of Music is a non-profit community music school in Louisville, Kentucky in the Crescent Hill neighborhood. Founded in 1954 by Robert French and Donald Murray, the academy has given over a million music lessons. It originally operated from three rented rooms in Highlands area of Louisville and moved to its current location in 1971.The academy currently offers lessons in piano, strings, voice, woodwinds, brass, guitar, and percussion for students of all ages. The present building on Frankfort Avenue consists of studios, a recital hall, a library and archive that contains thousands of books, records, and files on Kentucky musicians and organizations. The academy has presented more than a thousand programs and has trained over ten thousand students, many of whom have become composers, teachers, chamber music performers and members of major orchestras. Robert French won the 1999 Governor's Awards in the Arts for his work with the school.

The Crescent Hill Branch Library, constructed in 1908 in Louisville, Kentucky, was one of the first of nine Carnegie-endowed libraries built in Louisville, and is a branch of the Louisville Free Public Library. The building has a Beaux-Arts architecture style created by the Thomas & Bohne architect firm. The west side of the library was added in 1961 and the entire library was renovated in 1988. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1981 for its architectural significance and the educational impact on the community up to 1924.

Cherokee Park is a 409-acre (166 ha) municipal park located in Louisville, Kentucky, United States and is part of the Louisville Olmsted Parks Conservancy. It was designed in 1891 by Frederick Law Olmsted, the father of landscape architecture along with 18 of Louisville's 123 parks. Beargrass Creek runs through much of the park, and is crossed by numerous pedestrian and automobile bridges. According to The Trust for Public Land, Cherokee Park has 500,000 visitors annually, making it tied for the 69th most popular municipal park in the United States.The park features a 2.4 mile Scenic Loop through the park's pastoral setting featuring rolling hills, open meadows and woodlands with separate lanes for vehicle traffic (one-way) and recreational users. The park was closed to vehicular traffic in April 2020 to aid in social distancing and as of May 2021 remains closed to automobiles indefinitely.

Highlands Latin School is a private classical Christian school located in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. It serves students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Founded in 2000 by award-winning Latin textbook author Cheryl Lowe and her family, the school currently enrolls 718 full time students in two campuses plus 300 students in a two-day Cottage School.Families wanting a Highlands Latin education near their homes have started more than twenty Highlands Latin Schools across the United States.

St. Mark's Episcopal Church is located in the Crescent Hill historic district, on Frankfort Avenue which began as Louisville and Lexington turnpike in the 1850s. The church is located at the corner of Frankfort and Kennedy Avenues in Louisville, Kentucky. The church was founded as a missionary parish in 1891. The parish purchased the lot upon which the church was built in 1895. The first service was held in the new church on June 12, 1895. Today the church is active member parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Kentucky.

The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS) is a Baptist theological institute in Louisville, Kentucky. It is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. The seminary was founded in 1859 in Greenville, South Carolina, where it was at first housed on the campus of Furman University. The seminary has been an innovator in theological education, establishing one of the first Ph.D. programs in religion in the year 1892. After being closed during the Civil War, it moved in 1877 to a newly built campus in downtown Louisville and moved to its current location in 1926 in the Crescent Hill neighborhood. In 1953, Southern became one of the few seminaries to offer a full, accredited degree course in church music. For more than fifty years Southern has been one of the world's largest theological seminaries, with an FTE (full-time equivalent) enrollment of over 3,300 students in 2015.

The Hogan's Fountain Pavilion was a large gazebo and picnic shelter of mid-century modern architecture built in 1965 and located in Cherokee Park, Louisville, Kentucky, United States. It was considered the most prominent landmark in Cherokee Park. The pavilion was available for rental for a variety of events. When not rented, the pavilion was freely accessible to all park visitors. It was the most popular site within the park, renting for $150 per day, and raised more than $18,000 a year. It was located atop Bonnycastle Hill and acted as an architectural centrepiece along the park's 2.4-mile (3.9 km) scenic loop. The pavilion itself had a 200-seat capacity, with eight grills and picnic tables. The area surrounding the pavilion features a playground, a spray ground, a basketball court, horseshoe pits, an area for volleyball, and a softball field. Hiking and biking trails are also located near the pavilion.

Boyce College is a private, Christian college located in the Crescent Hill neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. It is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. It receives its accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada.

Repton is a historic house at 314 Ridgedale Road in Louisville, Kentucky that was designed by one of Louisville's leading architect J. J. Gaffney. The current Classical Revival structure was rebuilt in 1902, using the walls and foundation of the original structure which burned in approximately 1895. The original structure was the home of Norbourne Galt. The property was later owned by inventor Thomas W. Moran who built the current 1902 structure. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Crescent Hill is a neighborhood four miles (6 km) east of downtown Louisville, Kentucky USA. This area was originally called "Beargrass" because it sits on a ridge between two forks of Beargrass Creek. The boundaries of Crescent Hill are N Ewing Ave to the St. Matthews city limit (roughly Cannons Lane) by Brownsboro Road to Lexington Road. Frankfort Avenue generally bisects the neighborhood. The Crescent Hill Historic District, roughly bounded by Brownsboro and Lexington Rds., Peterson, Zorn, and Frankfort Aves., and Crabbs Lane, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
