The Battle for The Hague (Dutch: Slag om Den Haag) was a battle fought on 10 May 1940 during the Battle of the Netherlands. German Fallschirmjäger units were dropped in and around The Hague to capture Dutch airfields and the city itself. After securing a bridgehead, Nazi Germany had expected the Netherlands to surrender that day. The Germans, however, failed to achieve that objective since their forces had been unable to hold onto their initial gains. That is because the Dutch regrouped and then launched effective counter-attacks. Isolated pockets of German troops, led by Hans von Sponeck, retreated to the nearby dunes, where they were continually pursued and harassed for five days, when Henri Winkelman, the Dutch commander-in-chief, was forced to surrender by major setbacks on other fronts.

The Hague Tram (Dutch: Haagse tram) is a tram network forming part of the public transport system in and around the city of The Hague in South Holland, the Netherlands. Opened in 1864, as of 2018 the network has twelve tram lines, three of which were built to light rail standards and currently operate under the RandstadRail brand. It consists of 117 kilometres of rails and 241 stops, and has been operated by HTM Personenvervoer since 2002, being the successor of N.V. Gemengd Bedrijf Haagsche Tramweg-Maatschappij (01-01-1927 - 11-06-2002) and N.V. Haagsche Tramweg-Maatschappij (HTM) (01-05-1887 - 01-01-1927).

The Hague semi-metro is a light rail system in the form of a semi-metro in The Hague, the Netherlands. It is used by Lines 2, 3, 4, 6 and 34 of the local tram network. Three linked sections were constructed for the core of this network: the viaduct with the tram stations Centraal Station (CS) and Ternoot, the tram tunnel and the viaduct through the Beatrixkwartier office area. The semi-metro started in 1976 with the viaduct over CS and Ternoot. On semi-metro routes, tram vehicles run in tunnels and/or on viaducts in the city centre and otherwise largely on free tracks. It consists of five stations, and is operated by HTM Personenvervoer. As long as the conversion of the tram network to metro standards has not been completed, it is called semi-metro. The Hague Semi-metro is mainly inspired by the Brussels Premetro, as well as other systems. During the planning and partially construction the Brussels system was referred to as "semi-metro". The German concept Stadtbahn (in Cologne for example) is comparable to the situation in The Hague: with tunnels and viaducts. Friedrich Lehner (who also set up the Hanover Stadtbahn) introcuced the concept in The Hague in 1964. Plans were formalised in 1969 in the plan called Nota Openbaar Vervoer 1969.

The Koninklijke Schouwburg (literally translated: Royal Theater or Royal Playhouse) is a theater in the city center of The Hague. The theater was built in 1766 and has been in use as theater since 1804. From 2017 it is one of the theaters in use by the national theater company Het Nationale Theater, but also other companies perform in the Schouwburg.The main room of the Schouwburg is relatively small for current standards, and can seat 680 people in total with the main room and three balconies. The stage has a 1929 antique revolving stage that is still functional but no longer in use. It is considered one of the most prestigious theaters in the country.

The Embassy of Turkey in The Hague is the chief diplomatic mission of the Republic of Turkey in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Museum Meermanno – House of the Book (Dutch original: Huis van het boek), formerly called Museum Meermanno-Westreenianum, is a museum named after Willem Hendrik Jacob van Westreenen van Tiellandt on the Prinsessegracht 30 in The Hague. It is remarkable for its collection of sculpture, books, etchings, and paintings, but is most attractive to visitors for its accurate upkeep of the 18th century Herenhuis interior with period furnishings and collectibles.

Lange Voorhout 62 is a former mansion on the Lange Voorhout in The Hague, Netherlands. The building is in use by the Statenbank.

Lange Voorhout Palace (Dutch: Paleis Lange Voorhout [paːˈlɛis ˈlɑŋə voːrˈɦʌut]) in The Hague was designed in 1760 by the architect Pieter de Swart for Anthony Patras (1718-1764), a deputy to the States General of the Netherlands.

The Haags Historisch Museum is a museum situated on the Korte Vijverberg in The Hague, Netherlands, dedicated to the history of the city. It is based in the one-time guild house of Saint Sebastian. In the seventeenth century, this guild house was the home of the civilian militia of Saint Sebastian, whose members are depicted in some of the museum collections. In 2024, the council of The Hague agreed an investment of around €17 million for the renovation of the building housing the museum. The museum is planned to be closed from autumn 2024 to spring 2027 while the refurbishment takes place. The refurbished building is being designed by DP6 architects, who will create a new reception foyer, larger gallery spaces and better visitor routing.

Het Plein (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌɦət ˈplɛin]; English: The Square) is a town square in the old city centre of The Hague in the Netherlands. It is located adjacent to the Binnenhof, the meeting place of the States General of the Netherlands; the entrance to the House of Representatives can be found on Plein 2. The Mauritshuis art museum is located on Plein 29.Het Plein was originally a garden, forming a part of the Binnenhof castle, residence of the Counts of Holland. It was used to grow vegetables for the court. The garden was surrounded by a ring of canals and intersected by ditches. As a town square, Het Plein was constructed in 1632 and was inspired by the Place des Vosges in Paris. A statue of William the Silent, made by Dutch sculptor Lodewyk Royer, was installed in the centre of the square in 1848.

Saur was a restaurant in The Hague, in the Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in both 1958 and 1959. It was again awarded a Michelin star in 1967 and retained that rating until 1989. The restaurant finally closed down in November 2013.In the period 1982–1984, head chef was Ad van Wel.Restaurant Saur was convicted of breaching the price regulations in 1942. During the wintertime it had charged ƒ 2,50 for a plate of pea soup, while it was only allowed to charge ƒ 1,20. Although it was moved to a higher price class before the conviction, it still had to pay a fine of ƒ 1000 (thousand guilders).In the last days of his life, 2 May 2002, politician Pim Fortuyn was dining with friends in Restaurant Saur. A large crowd of protesters gathered in front of the restaurant. A security firm offered to protect him, but Fortuyn declined. Four days later, on 6 May, he was murdered.

Hotel Des Indes is a hotel located at the Lange Voorhout in The Hague, The Netherlands. It was constructed as a mansion in 1858. In 1881, it opened as a hotel.
