Gmina Paczków is an urban-rural gmina (administrative district) in Nysa County, Opole Voivodeship, in south-western Poland, on the Czech border. Its seat is the town of Paczków, which lies approximately 24 kilometres (15 mi) west of Nysa and 71 km (44 mi) west of the regional capital Opole. The gmina covers an area of 79.7 square kilometres (30.8 sq mi), and as of 2019 its total population is 12,560.

Paczków [ˈpat͡ʂkuf] (German: Patschkau; Silesian: Paczkōw) is a town in Nysa County, Opole Voivodeship, in southern Poland, with 7,460 inhabitants (2019). It is one of the few towns in Europe in which medieval fortifications have been almost completely preserved. Located in the southeastern outskirts of the historical province of Lower Silesia, along the medieval road from Lesser Poland to Klodzko Valley and Prague, Paczków is called "Polish Carcassonne", thanks to its well-preserved medieval fortifications. However, while the famous French Carcassonne is a 19th-century reconstruction, all historic buildings of Paczków are authentic. The old town and its medieval fortifications are listed as one of Poland's official national Historic Monuments (Pomnik historii), as designated November 13, 2012. Its listing is maintained by the National Heritage Board of Poland.

Stary Paczków [ˈstarɨ ˈpat͡ʂkuf] (German: Alt Patschkau) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Paczków, within Nysa County, Opole Voivodeship, in south-western Poland, close to the Czech border. It lies approximately 3 kilometres (2 mi) east of Paczków, 22 km (14 mi) west of Nysa, and 69 km (43 mi) west of the regional capital Opole. It is located within the historic region of Lower Silesia. Initially named Paczków, it was renamed Stary Paczków (meaning "Old Paczków") after the newly founded town of Paczków nearby took the name in 1254. In a medieval document from 1338 the village was mentioned under the Latinized name Antiquum Paczcow. The name Paczków comes from the Old Polish male name Pakosław. In 1861 the village was inhabited by 810 people, solely of Catholic confession. Between 1871 and 1945 it was part of Germany. The landmark of Stary Paczków is the medieval Church of All Saints.

Paczków Town Hall is a historic town hall (ratusz) built in the Renaissance architectural style and later reconstructed into Neoclassicism, is located in the centre of the Market Square (Rynek) in Paczków, Poland. Currently, the town hall is the seat for the Paczków authorities.
