Brooklyn Centre

The Brooklyn Bank Building is a historic bank structure located in Cleveland, Ohio, in the United States. Designed in 1904 prominent Cleveland architect J. Milton Dyer as a home for the Brooklyn Savings and Loan Association, the building exhibits a mix of architectural styles, including Neoclassical and Commercial, typical of Dyer's eclectic work. The structure was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) on July 19, 1984. It was listed as a contributing property to the Archwood Avenue Historic District, which was added to the NRHP on March 19, 1987. It was listed as a contributing property to the Brooklyn Centre Historic District, which was added to the NRHP on March 4, 1999.

The former Third Church of Christ, Scientist built in 1906 is an historic Christian Science church building located at 3648 West 25th Street (now 3648 Pearl Road) in Cleveland, Ohio, It was designed in the Classical Revival style by noted Cleveland architect Frederick N. Striebinger. On March 19, 1987, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. As of that date the building was vacated, but managed by Kotecki Monuments. The building housed Bethlehem Temple of Praise Church. It is now listed as Iglesia de Restauracion Elim with Pastor Felipe Ruiz as of July 2018. The Third Church of Christ, Scientist is no longer listed in the Christian Science Journal.

The Bomante House, also known as the Bomonti House, is a historic home located in Cleveland, Ohio, in the United States. Built in 1905 in the Swiss Chalet Revival, it exemplifies the architectural impact of one of Cleveland's largest immigrant communities.

Archwood United Church of Christ, formerly known as Archwood Avenue Congregational Church, is a church located at 2800 Archwood Avenue in the Brooklyn Centre neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio, in the United States. The structure is the home of the Archwood United Church of Christ, one of the oldest Christian congregations in Cleveland. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on May 13, 1993. The Congregational Church of Brooklyn was founded in 1819. It was affiliated with both the Congregational church movement and the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America. In 1867, the congregation had grown large enough to no longer need the support of the Presbyterians, and it affiliated fully with the Congregationalists. The congregation's first permanent place of worship was a wood-frame structure built about 1830 near the intersection of Pearl Road and Willowdale Avenue. It was moved to the intersection of Liberty Street (now W. 33rd Street) and Newburgh Road (now Denison Avenue) in 1851.In 1879, the congregation constructed a brick church in the Late Gothic Revival style at the intersection of Greenwood Avenue (now Archwood Avenue) and Pearl Street (2794 Greenwood Avenue). By 1925 the congregation had grown so much that the 1,100 members approved construction of a new church building.The new building, erected at 2800 Archwood Avenue next to the existing structure, was designed by local architect Daniel Farnham in the Colonial Revival style. It was completed in 1929. The sanctuary of the 1879 building was then razed. Parts of the 1879 structure still remain, to the rear of the sanctuary.

Riverside Cemetery Gatehouse is a historic office building located in Riverside Cemetery at 3607 Pearl Road in Cleveland, Ohio. It was completed in 1897, and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. A significant interior renovation occurred about 1991 to 1992.

Riverside Cemetery Chapel is a historic chapel located in Riverside Cemetery at 3607 Pearl Road in Cleveland, Ohio. It was built in 1876, received an addition in 1897, and closed due to disrepair in 1953. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. It underwent a major renovation beginning in 1995, and reopened in 1998.

The Archwood Avenue Historic District is a historic residential district in the Brooklyn Centre neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio, United States. Composed of houses constructed around the turn of the twentieth century, it has been one of the neighborhood's most important streets since it was established, and it was designated a historic district in 1987. When the Village of Brooklyn was first platted, Archwood Avenue (originally Greenwood St) was included as one of the village's side streets. Lots along Archwood were larger than those along other streets, and the street itself was atypically wide, so the village's largest original houses were built along the street. The Village of Brooklyn was annexed as Cleveland's Old Brooklyn neighborhood in 1894, Archwood retained its significant place in the neighborhood. The street's built environment is variable: late nineteenth-century styles such as Colonial Revival, Italianate, and Queen Anne are all found in the district.Rather than being concentrated in separate pockets, the styles are mixed together: in one block, a two-story Italianate house is placed between a two-story Queen Anne and a three-story Queen Anne on a corner lot. Five of the neighborhood's residences, known as the William Coates, Weldon Davis, Oscar Kroehle, Adam Poe, and Charles Selzer Houses, are the premier buildings within the district, while a pair of apartment buildings at the 33rd Street intersection are distinguished by two separate facades with ornamental entrances.In 1987, Archwood Avenue was designated a historic district and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, due to the integrity of its historic architecture. Covering 13 acres (5.3 ha), the district includes 57 different buildings, all of which qualified for consideration as contributing properties.

Founded in 1837 as City Hospital, The MetroHealth System serves the residents of the city of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County. It is one of the three major health care systems in Cleveland, Ohio, along with Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals of Cleveland. The system provides care at four hospitals, more than 20 health centers and 40 additional sites throughout Cuyahoga County. As of December 2018, it had more than 7,700 employees. The system is the 10th largest employer in Northeast Ohio.MetroHealth is a Level I Adult Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. It offers the only adult and pediatric burn center in the state of Ohio.In 1982, MetroHealth established its Metro Life Flight air ambulance service. Metro Life Flight has completed more than 90,000 medical missions, all safely. This air ambulance service is internationally known and has trained crews from Poland to Japan. It uses a fleet of three EC-145 helicopters for its air ambulance service.

St. Barbara Catholic Church (Polish: Parafia św. Barbary w Cleveland) is a parish of the Roman Catholic Church in Cleveland, Ohio, within the Diocese of Cleveland. The parish church is located on Denison Ave. between West 16th St. and the southbound entrance to SR 176, in a part of the Brooklyn Centre neighborhood previously known in Polish as na Barbarowie.The red brick parish church, designed by H.C. Gabele, is a local landmark. It is a GNIS named feature. The church, rectory and convent buildings are listed together as a Cleveland Designated Landmark.The parish was established in 1905.

Lincoln-West High School (L-W) is a high school located in Cleveland, in the U.S. state of Ohio and part of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. The school's name is a by-product of the merger between Cleveland's Lincoln High School and West High School. The current school building was built in 1970. Lincoln-West has a large multicultural and multilingual population including over 41 nationalities and 25 languages. First generation Americans and immigrants represented at the academy include: Puerto Rican, Russian, Ukrainian, Arabic, Mexican, Dominican, Chinese, Albanian, Nepali, Arabic, Urdu, Vietnamese, Laotian/Thai, African, Polish and Croatian. Originally, the school district was divided into the East and West Senate Conferences with L-W sports teams playing in the West. In the late 1970s, the CMSD reorganized the conferences into the North and South Senate Conferences with L-W in the North Senate. The Lincoln-West mascot and nickname is the Wolverines and the school colors are red, white and blue.

The Zoo is divided into several areas: Australian Adventure; African Savanna; Northern Wilderness Trek, The Primate, Cat & Aquatics Building, Waterfowl Lake, The RainForest, and the newly added Asian Highlands. Cleveland Metroparks Zoo has one of the largest collections of primates in North America, The Zoo is a part of the Cleveland Metroparks system. The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo was founded in 1882. It is one of the most popular year-round attractions in Northeast Ohio by attendance with a 2% increase from the previous year to 1.2 million visitors in 2007, compared to the Cleveland Indians who were the most popular attraction in Northeast Ohio in 2007 with a total attendance of over 2.2 million.
