The Institute of Asian and African Countries at Lomonosov Moscow State University was founded in 1956 as the Institute of Oriental Languages and was renamed to the Institute of Asian and African Countries in 1972. It is a Russian Centre for Oriental Studies. It employs more than 250 members including 28 professors and 70 assistant professors. Many of them are authors of studies, text-books and dictionaries for their translations of Japanese, Chinese, Sanskrit, Arabic, Hindi, Persian, Malay, Swahili and other Asian and African texts of fiction. Nowadays many Asian and African languages are taught in the Institute including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Mongolian, Arabic, Sinhalese, Turkish, Hebrew, Urdu, Sanskrit, Swahili, Hausa, Amharic, Afrikaans, Fula and Zulu. The graduates of the Institute get a diploma in "Oriental and African Studies" with a specialization in philology, political science, history or economics. The staff of the Institute has worked out the syllabus and text books on History of Asian and African countries and on Oriental Literature as well as books on languages, history, ethnology, geography and economics of the certain regions. More than 40 oriental and West-European languages are being taught at the Institute.

The Yermolova Theatre (Russian: Москóвский теáтр им. М. Н. Ермóловой) is a theatre company in the Tverskoy District of central Moscow. It is under the artistic direction of Vladimir Andreyev (Russian: Владимир Андреев). The theatre's building was built in the 1830s, and is one of the largest on Tverskaya Street. Tickets for productions cost about 50-300 roubles.

It has 202 bedrooms and 56 suites and is located on Manege Square, directly across from The Kremlin. The hotel is managed by The Luxury Collection, a division of Marriott International.

The MSU Faculty of Journalism is a faculty of the Moscow State University. It is situated on the Mohovaya, 9, in downtown [Moscow, approximately one block away from the Kremlin. The dean of the MSU Faculty of Journalism is professor Elena Leonidovna Vartanova. The president is professor Yassen Nikolayevich Zassoursky. Zassoursky was the dean of the Faculty of Journalism since 1965 till 2007. The Department of Journalism was established in 1947 (1947) at the Faculty of Philology of the Moscow State University. In 1952 it was reorganised as the independent Faculty of Journalism. About 15,000 mass media specialists who work in different editorial boards, television and radio stations, news agencies in Russia and abroad have been educated at the Faculty. More than 600 foreign students from Europe, Asia, Africa and America have graduated from the Faculty of Journalism.

The Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation (Russian: Министерство цифрового развития, связи и массовых коммуникаций Российской Федерации), also known as MinTsifry Rossii (Russian: Минцифры России), is a ministry of the Government of Russia responsible for telecommunications, media and the post. The Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media was established in May 2008 from successor agencies of the Ministry of Communications of the USSR, and was known as the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications until it receiving its current name in 2018. The ministry is subdivided into functional departments including Roskomnadzor, Rospechat and Rossvyaz. It is headquartered at 7 Tverskaya Street in Tverskoy District, Moscow. Maxut Shadayev has been the Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications since 21 January 2020.

The Federal Communications Agency (Russian: Федеральное агентство связи, abbreviated Rossvyaz, Russian: Россвязь) is a federal agency controlled by the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media. It is responsible for providing public services, the management of state property and law enforcement functions in the field of communication and information.

Third National Art Exhibition "Soviet Russia" (Moscow, 1967) (Russian: Третья Республиканская художественная выставка "Советская Россия" 1967 года) became a main national art event of 1967, as well as one of the largest Soviet art exhibitions of the 1960s. The exhibition took place in Manezh Exhibition Hall.

The Moscow Manege (Russian: Мане́ж, IPA: [mɐˈnʲeʂ] (listen)) is an oblong building along the west side of Manege Square, which was cleared in the 1930s and lies adjacent to Red Square. It is the site of Moscow Design Museum since 2012. Designed by Spanish engineer Agustín de Betancourt with a roof without internal support for 45 metres (148 ft) (the building's width), it was erected from 1817 to 1825 by the Russian architect Joseph Bové, who clothed it in its Neoclassical exterior, an order of Roman Doric columns enclosing bays of arch-headed windows in a blind arcade, painted white and cream yellow. The roof, with its internal rafters and beams exposed, rests on external columns of the Manege. The structure was used first as a traditional manège, an indoor riding academy, to house parades of horsemen and a training school for officers. The 180 m long Manege was large enough to hold an entire infantry regiment—over two thousand soldiers— as well as an invited audience. Since 1831 it has been an exhibition place. In 1867, Hector Berlioz and Nikolai Rubinstein performed at the Manege before a crowd of 12,000. During the Soviet years, the building was used as an art gallery. It was there that Nikita Khrushchev chided avant-garde artists for promoting degenerate art, an episode known as the Manege Affair.

Mokhovaya Street (Russian: Моховая улица) is a one-way street in central Moscow, Russia, a part of Moscow's innermost ring road - Central Squares of Moscow. Between 1961 and 1990 it formed part of Karl Marx Avenue (Проспект Маркса). The street runs from the Borovitskaya Square (named after nearby Borovitskaya Tower) in the south past Vozdvizhenka Street, Bolshaya Nikitskaya Street and Manege Square, ending at Tverskaya Street in the north. Traffic on Mokhovaya follows a northwards counterclockwise pattern as the parallel Manezhnaya Street is closed to regular traffic.

Manezhnaya (Russian: Манежная площадь, IPA: [mɐˈnʲeʐnəjə ˈploɕːɪtʲ], lit. 'Manege Square') is a pedestrian open space in the Tverskoy District, at the heart of Moscow. It is bound by the Hotel Moskva to the east, the State Historical Museum and the Alexander Garden to the south, the Moscow Manege to the west, and the 18th-century headquarters of the Moscow State University to the north. The square forms a vital part of downtown Moscow, connecting Red Square (which sprawls behind the Iberian Gate immediately to the south) with the major traffic artery Tverskaya Street, which starts here and runs northwestward in the direction of Saint Petersburg. It is served by three Moscow Metro stations: Okhotny Ryad, Ploshchad Revolyutsii, and Teatralnaya.

The Ministry of Communications of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) (Russian: Министерство связи СССР) was the central state administration body on communications in the Soviet Union from 1923 to 1991. During its existence it had three names: People's Commissariat for Posts and Telegraphs (1923–32), People's Commissariat for Communications (1932–46) and Ministry of Communications (1946–1991). It had authority over the postal, telegraph and telephone communications as well as public radio, technical infrastructure of radio and television broadcasting, and the distribution of periodicals in the country.
