St Mary's Cathedral, Perth, officially the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Perth, and seat of its Archbishop, currently Timothy Costelloe. The cathedral is at the centre of Victoria Square, on the northern end of Victoria Avenue, Perth, Western Australia. The cathedral as it now stands was constructed in three main phases, with the first phase completed in 1865. Plans were drawn up for the replacement of the cathedral in the 1920s with a larger Perpendicular Gothic edifice. However, construction was interrupted by the onset of the Great Depression, leaving a new transept and sanctuary, with the aisle of the original cathedral as its nave. After being incomplete for 70 years, with portions of the cathedral requiring extensive repair work, funds were eventually raised in the late 1990s and early 2000s for the completion of the expansion. A new curved design for the expansion was created, and featured a second spire and underground parish centre. The cathedral closed for construction in 2006, and reopened in December 2009.

Victoria Square is the name of the area and road that runs around the edge of the grounds of St Mary's Cathedral in Perth, Western Australia. It is the northern extension of Victoria Avenue. The area was originally named Church Hill by John Septimus Roe in 1839 or 1840, but was subsequently known as Victoria Square. The Anglicans of Perth chose the location of their cathedral, St George's, closer to Government House on St Georges Terrace, allowing the Catholic church to utilise Victoria Square.The precinct that surrounds the area includes historic schools, Catholic Church buildings, as well as historic residential buildings.Most of the historic buildings in the square were constructed and opened in the late nineteenth century.Royal Perth Hospital is on its northern side, and related buildings are on the north west side of the square, while on the south east side is Mercedes College. In the nineteenth century, the Convent of Mercy was located on the square.On the southern and south west part of the square is the Catholic Archbishop's Palace.The road that leads to the square from the west is Murray Street, while the road leading east is Goderich Street. Lord Street runs from the north east corner of the square, and over Wellington Street and the railway line into Mount Lawley.

Mercedes College is an independent Roman Catholic single-sex secondary day school for girls, located in the Perth central business district, Western Australia. The school was founded in 1846 by the Sisters of Mercy, thus making it the oldest independent Catholic girls' school in Australia, and the oldest existing secondary school in Perth. There are currently 800 students from Year 7 to Year 12 and the college's brother school is Trinity College. The current principal is Kerrie Fraser.The name Mercedes comes from the Spanish word for mercy.

St John's Pro-Cathedral is located at 18 Victoria Avenue in Perth, Western Australia. It is the earliest Roman Catholic church building in Western Australia.

St Mary's Cathedral located in Perth, Western Australia, is the seat of the Catholic Metropolitan Archbishop of Perth, currently Timothy Costelloe, appointed in February 2012.

Archbishop's Palace is a heritage-listed building in Perth, Western Australia, used by bishops and archbishops of Perth since 1855. In addition to the cultural value to the Roman Catholic community, the palace is a good example of architect Michael Cavanagh's Federation Academic Classical style, and a prominent landmark within the Victoria Square precinct. It is also known as the Catholic Church Office, and Roman Catholic Presbytery.

Old Perth Fire Station (Fire Brigade No. 1 Station) is located at 25 Murray Street, at its intersection with Irwin Street, in Perth, Western Australia. It was the first purpose-built fire station in Western Australia. It was opened in 1901 and continued in operation until 1979. The building now houses the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) Education and Heritage Centre, a museum displaying historic documents and vintage vehicles from the emergency services' early days.

McIver railway station is a railway station on the Transperth network in Perth, Western Australia. It is located on the Armadale/Thornlie line, Midland line and Airport line, 0.9 kilometres from Perth station, providing access to Royal Perth Hospital.

The Perth Mint is Australia's official bullion mint and wholly owned by the Government of Western Australia. Established on 20 June 1899, two years before Australia's Federation in 1901, the Perth Mint was the last of three Australian colonial branches of the United Kingdom's Royal Mint (after the now-defunct Sydney Mint and Melbourne Mint) intended to refine gold from the gold rushes and to mint gold sovereigns and half-sovereigns for the British Empire. Along with the Royal Australian Mint, which produces coins of the Australian dollar for circulation, the Perth Mint is the older of Australia's two mints issuing coins that are legal tender.

St Georges Hall was a theatre building in Perth, Western Australia.

Christian Brothers College (CBC), informally known as CBC Perth or The Terrace was an Independent school for boys situated on St Georges Terrace in the centre of Perth, Western Australia. The college opened in January 1894, and the college was a founding member of the Public Schools Association in 1905. The college was the second high school (1894) and the second boarding school (1896) in Western Australia. In 1938 boarders and some day students at CBC moved to the new Aquinas College campus at Salter Point. Brother C.P. Foley, who was the headmaster of CBC Perth and who at the same was the first headmaster of Aquinas took with him the Christian Brothers College crest and colours, honour boards, and Public Schools Association membership. Brother Foley insisted the heritage of CBC Perth from 1894–1937 belonged to Aquinas. To further enhance Aquinas as the premier the Christian Brothers College, the main building at Aquinas was designed in the Federation Arts and Crafts architecture of CBC Perth. Meanwhile, although most of the day students remained at CBC Perth, numbers were depleted and the college immediately accepted an overflow of students from St Patrick's Boys School on Wellington Street. CBC Perth continued as a day school from 1938–1961. In 1962, the students and staff of CBC Perth moved to a new site on the East Perth foreshore and the college was renamed Trinity College.

The Magistrates Court of Western Australia is the first tier court in Western Australia, a state of Australia. It has jurisdiction in respect of criminal and civil matters, as well as a range of administrative matters. The court came into existence in May 2005 and was the result of the amalgamation of the Court of Petty Sessions of Western Australia, Small Claims Tribunal of Western Australia, and the Local Court of Western Australia.
